Will someone familiar with the Daisy Girl Scouts clarify something for me please? I've tried looking online, but I'm not finding the same information as what the troop leader is saying.
Do the Daisy's still work towards their petal patches?
The troop leader says that the petal is done with and that they will only work towards regular badges. The petal is still being sold on the official site.
Also, the troop leader told us that the Daisy's used to work for pebbles. Several of us asked her to clarify this. We specifically said, "like little rocks" and she replied that yes, the Daisy's were given small pebbles as token, nothing on uniforms. She said this was done away with recently.
Just confused. This is my dd's first year in the scouts. It's the troop leaders' first year as well. Some things aren't making sense to me.
And what is the required uniform? In my GS days we had the vest or sash with council id, troop numbers, pins, etc. I did read that nowadays only the vest or sash (for the older groups) are required. My DH joked that without some type of patch / troop insignia, the little girls are going to look like they work at K-Mart.
I'm trying to find out, because the leader has said she doesn't know, yet she wants all the girls to have something within the month. She told me to order online whatever I wanted my daughter to have.
