D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 8/9/24-8/11/24 **Tickets on sale 3/26** **Sold Out on 3/29**

I'm a first timer at the D23 event. I've been reading through the thread and am feeling pretty well prepared. But one thing I can't figure out is what to expect for security and entry times. The only panel I got into is at 12:45pm one day, but mostly I just want to walk around and see things, maybe get in some standby lines and VQ a few shops. Is there ever a time of day without huge security lines? Is coming and going to the park or hotel during the day feasible at all? Or should I just plan to stay once I've arrived?
I left and came back several times in '22. The line to get in was only bad in the morning.

Whew! Good to know, thank you. So if I went over after 10 maybe the morning campers would be through by then? That may be my plan.

I guess people might have overlapping or duplicate RSPs amongst their group. I guess they could theoretically cancel. They may also have extra slots that I guess they could cancel. It seems like most people are arranging exchanges though.

That's a trek for lunch if you are planning on going back to the convention center afterwards.

Don't forget to make park reservations if you are planning on eating inside the parks.
Yep, I'm prepared to bail depending on how I'm feeling, but I do runDisney races so I know what time on my feet is like! And I make park reservations months ago so I'm all set.

I want the most time at the convention as possible. So if I leave for lunch, it would only be to try to get something to eat nearby that would be faster than waiting in line at the food trucks inside. I kind of want to try smuggling in some lunch but I might be too chicken 😅
Definitely some granola bars, though

Did anyone try for extra panels today? It looks like most were in the evening and,
I did give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. Scored one panel I was hoping for.

How it works, you sign in. Then it’s an open marketplace. If anyone offloads their reservations they will appear there that you can then take. I’ve seen everything from signings to panels to experiences. That said it seems those with lower reservations, 1-2 seem to have higher proabability. Probabaly didn’t help that D23 let people book up to 7 guests. Lol

The key is being quick and fast to book as they go quickly. Then periodically refresh to see what’s available.

I think this is a great aid and can be helpful to get people into what people wanted. I’d check it periodically even while at the expo.

If anyone is up for trading for panels, I’m running solo, however have a +1 to

Saturday
Disney Channel
Sherman Bros.

Looking for:

Friday
Toy Story 30

Saturday
Abbott
Inside Out 2, the mind

Sunday
Magic after dark
Jolly Holiday

As of 11:15am, everything's gone - nothing's showing up. There was a halcyon 45 minutes that people were dropping things, but nothing's shown up for the last 15 minutes.

If they really wanted this to work, they should have doled out like 2/3rds of the stock in advance, then thrown the rest of the pool here. That way, people would be incentivized to drop things. But if people don't have a hope of getting something else, they might keep something they might otherwise drop.

Sadly, I got so caught up in the possibility of getting the panel I wanted that I dropped the thing I had. (It was at the same time as the panel I wanted, so I couldn't book it with it there.) By the time I dropped it, that 45 minutes was basically over, so now I don't have anything.

I'm hoping that we'll see more movement later in the week - maybe it'll be easier to book the random things that get dropped.

So when I sign in, I get a page that says

Sorry! You have either made all possible reservations for yourself OR all reservation items are fully booked at this time. Check "My Schedule" to view if you have any confirmed reservations.

Is that the page that you just constantly refresh to try to grab additional sessions?

Friend and I tried. Too slow to get anything. I was in pretty early, but there wasn't much even then. Saw 3 things I wanted multiple times but never could get them. I'm periodically reloading but betting on standby. I am even bringing my trusty leisure mat/thin pad from Japan :rotfl2:
