D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Hey Guys (and Gals!)

You aren't going to believe it (I know I don't)!!!!

I actually just did a WHOLE 25 minute run!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so totally stoked! Remember last April, when I could barely run 90 seconds without my lungs exploding!?? 25 minutes! I can hardly contain myself.

However, I'm whipped! It's 10:00 and I just walked in the door, and need to hit the sack. So, I'll have to pick this up, and get to all of your great threads also, tomorrow!

Keep those guesses coming! And by the way, I intentionally made this one easy.... ;)

Oh my gosh!!!!!

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :dance3:
:cool1: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :dance3:

Liesa, just stopping by to say hi and congratulations on the RUN!!! :dance3::dance3::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay:

Mark is doing much better (he's at the high school watching Andy coach). I'm still feelihg like crap and I think I knocked something out of whack coughing so I'm at home sitting on the couch.

I was in an accident. I was on my home from FL, driving through Mobile, when a horrible rainstorm came through. The rain was so hard that many of us were driving with our flashers on.

Two teenagers in a blue pickup truck were driving in front of me and were going to fast for the conditions - they hydroplaned and took 5 cars with them. When it was over, they were flipped on their side and had come to rest on a telephone pole. I was run off the road, but managed to avoid any oncoming traffic or really hurting my car at all.

We got the kids out of the truck and helped an older lady and a child - but no one was seriously injured.

I am really sore today from the impact, but otherwise totally fine. :)

We were very blessed! It could have been so, so much worse.
Wow Mary, so very glad you came through with minimal affects, and everyone avoided any major injuries!

THANKS, Marv!! And by the way, I am still planning to add more to that PM reply of yours, just need to find and uninteruppted 20 minutes on my computer- those are a rare comodity! I haven't forgotten!
No problem. Things are very busy right now for me also. Just took a group of scouts up to summer camp yesterday, and will be back there on Wednesday night to spend the rest of the week with them. Of course, I picked the hottest part of the week to be there. Will be out of touch much of that time, so hopefully I won't miss too much of your contest while I am gone.

And then tomorrow I will have to change my sig! DS20 will become DS21!!! :scared1: Man is DW getting old......:rolleyes1

Hopefully I will have more input to the PM soon also!

I was away for a day and so much to comment on!

First, Magdalene - that is an AWESOME post on the train system you did! You are so sweet!! I am thinking I'll do something similar with the NYC subway system for when friends/family come to visit. I usually just explain it, or show them the first time we ride together, but to have pics and a document is such a good idea!

Second, the game...my answer is:
you gag when you brush your teeth.

Third, :yay::yay::yay: on your run! Joe and I recently started the C25K plan (is that what you are doing too, I've seen some references to the running, and it sounds like it?) we are only on Week 2 Day 1 (90 seconds of running), I can't even IMAGINE being able to run for more than 90 seconds at a time at this point. Tonight is a running night for us too. We will "graduate" while AT Disney, and we both agreed that we want to keep it up while there so we will graduate there! And really, running around the Boardwalk/Beach Club area? Ya, I don't think we'll mind that so much....what a great view for a run!! :cloud9:

Oh MY!!! :scared1:

I'm glad that you weren't injured. It sounds like it could of been worse for all those involved.

Liesa the answer is ----> you gag when you brush your teeth. I'm so sorry! LOL

GREAT JOB ON THE RUN LIESA!!!! :dance3:

Maybe in two months I'll be at that level. I've started jogging myself :goodvibes

;)my answeryou gag when you brush your teeth

:banana::cool1: for running 25 mintues, I start my running again tonight, we have a women run program here that starts tonight and then we have a graduation 5k in Aug or Sept, can't remember

So now maybe we should both meet up in the world for the princess half marathon in 2012 or the race for the taste -whatever works for you ;)

:cool1::cool1::worship::worship: 25 minutes!! That's awesome!! I try to get in a 3 mile walk every day. Every now and then I try to do intervals of jogging, but I don't last more than 2 minutes at a time!! How pitiful! :rotfl:

Here's my answer to your question? You gag when you brush your teeth!! By the way, I gag as well when I brush my teeth, but for some reason only in the morning. No problem at night!! :lmao:

Awesome job on the run! :yay:

We knew you could do it!

I"m glad YOU all knew it; I was seriously doubtful!

Great job on the run! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Jen!! Funny how some days can go so well, and others can be so bad depending on about one zillion factors.

Now my answere took some scanning but I found it thru you handy links !!

Congrats, Rosie!!! You're in the running.

Oh my gosh!!!!!

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :dance3:

Ok, here's a new confession... I am NOT running at WDW!! So there. I do it because I have to, and that doesn't fall into the category of "vacation fun". :confused3:lmao:

Liesa, just stopping by to say hi and congratulations on the RUN!!! :dance3::dance3::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay:

Hey Kathy! I am so sad that this cold hasn't left you yet!! Man, it's been too long! Maybe you should get checked out- could it have turned to walking pneumonia??

Mark is already out and about!!?? That's amazing!! :worship::worship::worship: Did he decided for sure on having the angioplasty early? Before your trip??

i am not a competitive sort and i usually am not on enough. when i do pop on i need to read a zillion posts, cause i love all the banter.
I am bowing out of the game, because of said tardiness on your TR, but i definately will enjoy reading the answers while catching up!;)

Wow the instructions on the train things.........dang.:thumbsup2

looking forward to more.
hope all is well with packing up etc.

KIM

HI Kim,

I"m just glad you're here- in whatever way you want to be. You're right, the banter is all kinds of fun, and fun to join in with when you ARE here. :goodvibes

Packing is going much better- DH decided to partcipate. :sad2: We've put a deadline for ourselves to ship our boxes on Wednesday next week, so that will add one more layer of finality to the whole mess-er, I mean proces...

Wow, Maroo. You have had a couple of rough weeks. So glad that you(and everyone else involved) are ok.

It's so true!! :scared1: I was only kidding when I said it'd be a miracle if we 3 ladies all arrived in one piece. Now, I'm not so sure it was a joke!

TO THE MANY OTHERS WHO'VE POSTED ANSWERS:

THANKS for playing. I'm a little afraid to acknowledge in quote form, so just know that I've see your answers, and have them marked down. I'll post the answer tomorrow along with a new question. :thumbsup2

Summer is hard for everyone in the posting dept. I think. Christmas was like that too! The threads slow way down. Anyway, Scout camp sounds GREAT!! I think you'll only end up missing one question- not too bad! Stay cool!

Ha!! DW getting old. Surely, you're not aging with her. :lmao:

Looking forward to more news!

I was away for a day and so much to comment on!

I am so stoked you and Joe are doing the C25K also!! It's a great program with baby steps, which is exactly the way to go!! I have to admit though, there are a couple of big jumps in there that seem/ look scary, but they ARE do=able. I've found that jogging is more than half mental!

So, if you graduate in WDW, we'll be graduating like around the smae time. :lmao: Unlike the 1 week for each week thing, I spend a couple weeks on each week. IF that makes sense. I'm in no hurry to graduate- as my ultimate reward is a Disney 1/2, and we all know THAT'S NOT going to happen anytime soon. :lmao:

However, I agree, running at Disney would be the ultimate morning workout! I can't think of a lovlier place. :cloud9:

GREAT JOB ON THE RUN LIESA!!!! :dance3:

Maybe in two months I'll be at that level. I've started jogging myself :goodvibes

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I know you can- because I have!

:cool1::cool1::worship::worship: 25 minutes!! That's awesome!! I try to get in a 3 mile walk every day. Every now and then I try to do intervals of jogging, but I don't last more than 2 minutes at a time!! How pitiful! :rotfl:

Here's my answer to your question?

3 miles is GREAT!! My workouts are only 2 miles right now, but by now it's mostly jogging. I could easily add in another mile of walking, and hey, that'd be the 5 K!!! I never thought of it like that!! Maybe someday, we could get the whole gang of us together and REALLY do the WDW 10K or something!!

got your answer, but deleted it off my quote. ;)

Mary I'm so glad you are ok, that just sounds terrifying!

Liesa...wtg on the run!

Morning, Cynthia!! I am so far behind on everyone's threads it's depressing!! I really hope to spend a little time this afternoon when Mike is out doing errands catching up. I will get over- I promise!! I haven't abandoned you- or anyone else!

I don't feel abandoned

But I know the feeling! Well.

I was in an accident.

I am really sore today from the impact, but otherwise totally fine. :)

We were very blessed! It could have been so, so much worse.

I am so glad that nothing really bad happened. This sounds like it could also have gone horribly wrong! I hope you are less sore today.

Phew, I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I really don't like the PM system here. So. s. l. o. w.....

I don't like it either... Somehow I always seem to use it to communicate with DISers, I guess I am a bit shy about contacting them in real life, even though I have their contact details... :confused3

Hey Magdalene - awesome explanation of how to take the train! Wish I was going to Germany!

Thanks! Perhaps the opportunity will come one day! :yay:

You're SOOOO funny. And sweet. You guys have no idea how much motivation is there, and how much accountibility you help me with. SEriously, if I hadn't have posted earlier that I was going out there to try, I'd have never done it. So thanks for letting me just post that I've done it once in a while!!

Now, it's almost time for MY shower!!

Accountability is something that really helps with things like that that you really don't want to do! And you are welcome to post about your running as much as you want! It really looks liek the DIS is getting so many people to take up running. Which is great! :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday to your son! I hope you will have a great celebration!

Have fun at the summer camp! Even if it is hot, being in the outdoors in the summer is so much nicer than in an office building :thumbsup2

First, Magdalene - that is an AWESOME post on the train system you did! You are so sweet!! I am thinking I'll do something similar with the NYC subway system for when friends/family come to visit. I usually just explain it, or show them the first time we ride together, but to have pics and a document is such a good idea!

I think I got this idea from other "walkthroughs" that I have seen on the internet, for example the Orlando Airport arrival guide: http://www.orlandoairports.net/arrive/index.htm

Doing it for the NYC subway system is a good idea! When I was in NYC we had signed up for a guided tour with "Big Apple Greeter" (http://www.bigapplegreeter.org/). These are volunteers which show you an area of NYC and they come and pick you up at the hotel and then the first thing on the tour is an explanation of the subway system. We did this on our first morning and it was a great way to do your first steps in a foreign city. The tour was great (we had requested the Lower East Side) and we got a lot of helpful hints about NYC! :thumbsup2

Maybe someday, we could get the whole gang of us together and REALLY do the WDW 10K or something!!

That would be fun!

Don't worry, we all know that you have to move a family half way around the globe. No wonder you don't have so much time for DISing! :goodvibes
