D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Good morning Liesa!!

Congratulations on the 5K plans!! :cool1:

It must be so hectic in your house right now, but hopefully the exciting adventures you have coming up soon will help keep you going!! :thumbsup2

I'm actually going on vacation Saturday for the week to Cape Cod. We rent a house there every year. I'm so looking forward to relaxing in a beach chair with a good book!! :cloud9:

Here's my answer:
:thumbsup2

OK, first of all, I"m accecting both answers, (there were a couple possibilities) because they were both mentioned.

My sister just got back from Cape Cod, and LOvED IT! They go every year too, and stay at a friend's house. I know you're going to have a great time!! THen once you get back it will be almost time for our BIG MEET!! I just counted everyone up today, and we at....wait for it....

13!!!!! Some are family of DISers, but 13 is a pretty decent number!!

Yes, I have another run tonight, and am tyring to think about how to go about my training from here on out. I have 3 weeks left. I'm up to 25 minute runs. I know I can't run for the 40 (or more) it will take, so I"m thinking of running for 15-18 walking 5 or so, then running the rest. And I included my warm up in there. Hmmmm.....

Mike is off to the train station in a bit to hand them over to the apes who will throw them around. I"m praying nothing (ESPECIALLY my RUG) gets stolen or lost!!

5 Whole pages behind, I should know better by now than to let my little life interfere with reading your ptr, or I get left behind. :lmao:

But I'm all caught up and will go back to checking in morning, noon, and night :rotfl:

on a serious note, if I didn't miss the deadline for questions #3:

a half at WDW sounds great to me, don't forget about me when you decide to do it, as that is a goal I have too. Though I will be attempting a half this December for St. Jude.

Wow shipping 14 boxes of things you'll be away with for 3 weeks  But on a happy note, you are so close to your trip and your move :cool1::cool1:

This thread, I admit, even keeps me on my toes!! Don't blink!

Nope, you got your answer in with plenty of time to spare; today is shipping day, so the answer may not be up for a bit (as in later today). Also, I REALLY hope to be able to sit down and tally scores. That task has really slipped away from me.

REally?? You'd be interested in doing a half with me?? I think I'd like to get a couple practice ones under my belt, then I can prove to my DH that I am serious and "deserve" a trip to WDW for my efforts.

Great news! We've booked our flight and hotel for the DC Meet!!!:banana::banana:

Slight change of plans since we last spoke, Liesa. We're going to rent a car for our entire stay but would it still be possible for you and your sister to swing by our hotel? (I will PM you the hotel details) Then we could all travel together from Baltimore airport to Bethesda but in separate cars. Reason being, to make a long story short, is that we need the car is so we can get back to Baltimore airport with ease. So we're going to fly in early on the Saturday 28th to spend the day touring around Baltimore. Should be fun! We didn't want to go all that way and not see lots of new sights. Then we'll meet up with you on the Sunday 29th and go to lunch together to meet up with the rest of the gang. We'll have to leave at around 3pm to get back to the airport in time. Too bad we can't stay for dinner festivities but I will have to be up early the next morning for work
mw_thumbsdown.gif
Bummer. Anyways, let me know if said plans work for you.

Hot diggity!!! It's really, real now!!! Cool BEANS!!!

Sure, we can hook up with you at the hotel and caravan into Bethesda! That will be easier, since my sister knows her way around and can get us there with few(er) hassles. I can totally see your needing a car- since you're there early, you'll want to tour around with it too. Good plan!

Yeah, I"m bummed you have to leave at 3:00, but lunch is a great piece of it!! Should be good times! Go ahead and PM your hotel stuff and your cell number.

Glenn IS coming- I just got he and Judy's RSVP today! And I"m sorta thinking it's the other way around. I think Glennbo would be OVERLY thrilled to have another guy there, so he has a bit less 'splainin' to do to Judy. :rotfl2: Also, Rob (My_Pal_Pluto) is seriously thinking of coming, as well as The Capells. So, could be up to 4 guys?

I think you could spend ALL day (and more) on the Mall. I LOVE the Smith (free!) and my favorite memorial is the new-ish Roosevelt one. If you want to go to the top of the Washington, you'll have to get there FIRST THING as it's a ticket thing now, and they are gone by like 10:00 AM.

It's VERY emotionally draining, and is definitely causing a bit of friction in the household. If you think about it, could you remember us in that area. I'm sure you can read between the lines there. ;)

The fact that there will be other men there will be a big bonus to Joe. All this talk about it is making me very excited - even though we can't confirm yet.

Thank you for the tips on the touring too - I'd be cool with walking around and seeing some of the monuments and doing the Smithsonian. I didn't realize it was FREE! Woot! :yay: I've seen a traveling exhibit one time and it was incredible. I think we could even get Henry into it with some of the things.

I have read between the lines and am following orders! :goodvibes

That was a smiley of ME pleading with Joe!

Yes, my wife and I are planning on going. I'll leave the kids at home (fortunately they're old enough for that) as I'm sure they won't want to be around all of us old fuddy duddies. ETA - plus, James is probably afraid that his cheeks will get pinched by Jenbear.

:rotfl2:I'll have to show him that smiley! Our little guy will be with us on the trip...usually is very good and easily entertained, so I think he'll do just fine.

I hope.

Well....

We have another "recruit" of sorts!!!

Baker's Family!!!!!

THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!! I love it!! Thank you for sharing the news!

Mike is off to the train station in a bit to hand them over to the apes who will throw them around. I"m praying nothing (ESPECIALLY my RUG) gets stolen or lost!!

I'll be taking note on this one too!!

I was going to talk to Joe tonight about the meet, but we had some errands to run (always an adventure in NYC-fun PTR fodder for when I start the PTR), and then work called and he's been swamped/stressed...so....I haven't. If we have some chit chat yet tonight before he collapses it will be the topic! I'll get you my answer on it asap.

ETA: If it does work out...will we need a car to get around/to the meet? We don't have one now...

Well, I do hope it works out that they come! We're up to 13 now!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Most everything around the Mall is free. OH yeah! The Botanical Gardens are spectacular, and right up the street from the Smith! They are worth it. Also, there is Ford's Theater where Lincoln was shot.

Kids are excited about the things their parents are at Henry's age. Build on it now. ;)

Thanks!!!! We've weathered MANY storms and stressful things, but this sure is a test!

I"m tickled Henry is coming- if we can't pinch James' cheeks, we'll most definitely do some lovin' on Henry!

THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!! I love it!! Thank you for sharing the news!

I love it when Mary shares what God is doing for kids who need a lot of TLC!

The public transport system is VERY good in DC, but I"m wondering if we could have another DISer pick you up somewhere to get you to lunch. Hmmm...??

ANY IDEAS here guys?? I'd offer, but we'll have to scoot straight from the airport over to get JenBear and Bubba and then hurry to get to lunch on time.

Hi Magdalene! I see you online, if you can wait another 1/2 hour or so, I'll have Q #5 up! I"m counting up scored right now, but am only on pg. 92. :scared1: Having fun in London- your last day?

Question #4 wasn't too tricky to find using the links in PART 1. There were actually 2 answers that I'll accept, since some of you dug a little deeper. When I wrote the question I was thinking about our Pick a Pearl, but we're also looking forward to seeing Miyuki do her magic with rice goo too.

So, up to this point, here are how your scores stand. I went with half scores for one of the questions that had 2 parts, where only half was answered:

Flossbolna: 3
Marvali: 4
JenBear: 4
Glennbo: 4
Maroo: 3
Cynthia: 4
Jenb1023: 2
SleepingBooty: 2.5
Rosie: 3.5
Brook: 4
Tim: 3? Or 4??
JPFamilyMom: 3.5
Tracy: 4
Disney<333: 1
Pollito: 2
Dani: 2
Yinyangirls: .5
Nodnol: 1
GB: 1
Denise: 1

I'm sure there will be a mistake there, so just let me know of anything I got wrong. :goodvibes

Now, onto question #5!!! Are you ready to go hunting again??

What is the event we were really looking forward to, but got cruelly aced out of?

I have an idea and again no time to confirm, so here is my answer:
I'm not sure about the correct title, something like Mickey's Scary Halloween Party...

Yes, such great news! I was very disappointed for this family the other day, but so glad things are progressing again! Sometimes we falter in our faith, and then just at the most opportune moment, we get a gentle (and sometimes awesome) reminder. :cool1:

Now on to the next question. Either I'm getting better at this, or have done so much more reading I'm getting more familiar with your trip. I actually thought I knew what this one was based on recent comments and research seems to bear it out. My answer is: The Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP). It is really tough when you try to plan things so far in advance to book ADRs and such, and then after you think you have everything in place, Disney surprises you with additions, subtractions and addendums to their schedule!:sad1: I did think "sleet on a naked back" was quite descriptive!

Just wanted to say good morning, Liesa. Guess what we did today (at 52 days out)???? WE PAID OFF OUR TRIP!!!!

That's exactly how it works... often.

I think you're getting better.

As for planning- Disney never guarantees a thing. Sort of a CYA managerial style. Sure makes it hard on us planners. Oh, and those who get excited far too far in advance.

OOH I don't even hav to search for this one !!!! IT is

You have a very good memory.

I believe the answer is
;) :sad2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Good one!!

My sentiments exactly!!!

Popped in and caught up! whew! :surfweb:
I think of you often and hope all is going well and smoothly with the shipping packing traveling.

The DC meet sounds awesome!

I actually know the answer to #4 because sis and i are doing it this time round!
