Well, I do hope it works out that they come! We're up to 13 now!!!!

Most everything around the Mall is free. OH yeah! The Botanical Gardens are spectacular, and right up the street from the Smith! They are worth it. Also, there is Ford's Theater where Lincoln was shot.

Kids are excited about the things their parents are at Henry's age. Build on it now.

I LOVE gardens that I can enjoy that other people take care of! One of the reasons I wanted the apartment we currently live in. The landlady cares for all the gorgeousness out our front door!

I spoke to Joe last night after I typed up my reply above, he is very interested, but wanted to know about the car thing too. If we can find a decent hotel and get a ride to the meet, and the finances are there, it's a go! I'm going to search for a hotel today to get an idea. Well....

We have another "recruit" of sorts!!!

Baker's Family!!!!!

They are the ones we were trying to send to Disney and tomorrow was the LAST DAY we could possibly pay the money for Disney to hold the Free Dining reservation.

So after Sunday church - when we were still $1100 away from our goal - I resigned myself to the fact that we would have to postpone it...

But God is so much bigger than my little mind! I guess HE figured He had till Wednesday and came through at the right time! Someone - anonymously - deposited $1000 in the charity account which put us in exact range of what Disney needed by tomorrow!

So...

They are going to Disney!!!!!!!!





I am really excited! Of course - it will make this trip just that much more interesting - but there is no doubt in my mind that this is what God wants for their family and that the timing is right for them.


Baker's Mom has been talking to him about Disney and how he needs to be "ready" and a "big boy" while he is there (she did not know yet that we were afraid we would have to postpone it) - and he made a HUGE progress toward that today - he hit a major milestone in potty training! - just the thought of going to Disney is really motivating him! I am so excited to see how this is all going to turn out!

Oh! Goody, goody, I have two online playmates still up!!!


The computer goes offline (and hence so do I) on August 13th, when we move to a friend's house for the last 2 days of our time in our city. I MIGHT be able to get out a quick live update of our travels on the 16th, but then we'll be out of touch until the 20th, when we arrive in BG. BUT, Magdalene said she'd post an update for me from Nuremeberg. So, you won't lose me completely.
