D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Isn't 2:00 AM kinda late for you?? You're starting to pull stunts like me! So, did Mel go to FL? I guess I should go to your thread and check. Congrats on your new niece/playmate for Jul!!

This sounds like the CS side- I was thinking of a TS meal here. I'm sure they have a lot of the same stuff, though, and CERTAIN they use the same kitchen, so if the CS is good, I can be pretty sure the TS will be too. :)

Although, maroo had the honey chicken and WILL NEVER go back it was that bad. So, that's why I want it for my solo day. ;)

I got home from work at 1:30. I'm about to hit the hay. I'm beat!

I'm sorry, I should of read through the whole post. I've only been to the CS Y&Y. I would like to try the TS restaurant someday. ::yes::

To be fair, I don't think I mentioned in the original post that I was hunting for info. on the TS, so it wasn't for your lack of vigilance. :rolleyes1

I'm leaning towards the dim sum basket for 2 and dessert. or the lettuce cups?

LOL......

Sounds good to me! Nite... I'll be back to work on my TR tomorrow!

Just checking in to day I'm still praying for you... I've been busy with Sisters, nieces and grandchildren, so not all caught up, but I'm amazed at your adventures and misadventures. So happy to hear your testimony. I'm sleepy now, but I'll be back.

Good nite, Tim. Glad to see you back! Hopefully, you'll get a post up soon, and things will normalize for you.

Hi Tammie! We're busy too these days. In fact, I just sold one of our big wardrobes- it's so good to see this stuff go out the door, but we've definitely entered the "living out of boxes phase" of this move. Ugh!! It's so unsettling!

6 Weeks of "Where's my underwear!?"

Love the music project but I don't have any novel ideas aside from what has already been mentioned. My favorite British stuff is rock, so you're right about it fitting in. Soundtracks might be your best bet for mellow stuff. Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations...

Good morning Liesa!

My first comment for the day unfortunately has to be: :sad::sad:
In yesterday's semi final the better team won - but that wasn't the German team... :sad2:

This thread once again was horribly busy, so there is a lot to work on...

Yeah! I am working on the stress issue for now and just taking the medicine they gave me when it really is hurting.

I had a bad "attack" yesterday, but it has been doing much better today.

I hope that since you now know what it is, you will be able to work with it! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear that you had another attack!

I spent the entire morning convincing an insurance company that a pt needs immediate surgery. They can be such a pain sometimes!

Ok, I get how it is difficult to manage your stress level in these situations... :sad2:

One of the ladies in my office said something a bit stronger....that they are acting more like a**es. I finally talked to a doctor at the insurance company and his name was.....

Dr. Butts!!

It made me laugh so hard! And Dr Butts finally saw the light!

:lmao:

Sisters can be like that! I am with one of mine, the other, I just don't get. They are twins, so how odd is that?!

That's interesting how different twins can be...

I'll look for that one, Rule Britannia. Gotcha. And I ADORE the idea of something from Mary Poppins! Super pick there. I love that song, Feed the Birds!

Feed the Birds is the one song I don't like - for some reason or another I find it creepy. :confused3

Awesome! One more word that might come in handy in a few weeks. BY the WAY!!!! We finally sat down and planned out our Nuremberg itinerary. I want, no NEED your feedback, and will PM or call you in the AM.

I am not so sure that you will need Rippe that much... :rolleyes1 It was great talking to you! :cool1:

I like the Beatles too, and have seen Sir Paul as well, but only once. I have the entire Beatles collection somewhere in my garage in Portland (where our stuff has been stored for the last 10 years! :scared1:) I wonder if there's a way to digitize cassette tapes. THere's even some rare German tracks that they did in the collection!! I can't wait to dig it out!

Yes, the Beatles got their breakthrough playing in a club in Hamburg. I think that's why they did some of their songs in German. But even Elvis did a song in German if I remember correctly. It must have been during his military service when he was stationed in Germany...

I have heard taht you cannot get most of the BGM because Disney has leased it from the original artists and it would violate their terms of lease if it were to be sold... Blah, blah, blah. Whatever. There's a craving public!

Ok, that's a stupid argument! I am sure that any artist would be happy to take the royalties connected with additional sales of their music. The problem is just that Disney would not be able to take all the income from the sales of BGM for themselves and would have to pay additional royalties to those artists. That's why they don't want to do it. They don't see that it would be worth the effort... :confused3

My turn for the flames... I really don't care for Off Kilter so much. WE stopped and watched almost their entire set last time, and it was so loud, we could not even understand what they were saying. I do like their one version of Amazing Grace, but the rest I can live without. :confused3

I am not a fan of Off Kilter either...

Yeah. And I won't mention the pretzel bread at Le Cel either.

I just had a pretzel bread roll for breakfast! :cloud9:

:lmao: I thought of a few remarks on that too, but refrained myself. However, I did not on Glenn's playground. :scared: THat was about man stuff too. ;)

Ok, I need to go over and check Glenn's TR now...

Yeah. And I won't mention the pretzel bread at Le Cel either.
You can't get me with that one......YET! (unless you have pictures ) Now after my trip in December.....

NOt on this thread! We have over 550 pages of amusement.
and growing, and growing, and...... :lmao:

we've definitely entered the "living out of boxes phase" of this move. Ugh!! It's so unsettling!

6 Weeks of "Where's my underwear!?"
Sounds like the makings of a new game! :cool1: You might not want to make that one pictorial though.....:rolleyes1

Life brought its normal measure of chaos and turmoil, with varying amounts of success. The house is measurably more in a state of upheaval with the sale of a large piece of furniture which necessitated the complete re-arranging of everything else. Our bedroom is down to our bed, and one small wardrobe. It is beginning to not only feel, but look like the very end of our stay here. It is unsettling as I said before, but one thing is always sure to bring some measure of respite to my aching legs and back, and that is

DISNEY MUSIC!!!

So, today I bring you the grand finale of our Musical Tour Around EPCOT’s World Showcase.

I left off at:

Italy:

This, after Morocco’s MoRockin’ is my favorite. A group called Rondo Veneziano is used as background music, and I downloaded 2 of their songs,

Rondo Veneziano and
Tema Veneziano

This stuff is classical with an upbeat twist. The fact that I played oboe in Jr. and Sr. High school probably adds to my love of this stuff.

Germany:

Frankly, I’m a bit shy about posting this, as I know I may have missed the mark some. I went with the VERY, VERY polka sound to get my oom-pa-pa groove thing on. But do realize that Germany has seen some of the best classical composers to have ever walked the earth. From what I understand of the German Pavilion, the Imagineers wanted to create an upbeat, party like atmosphere, though, so I went with what we tourists know as German fun. Flame on, Flossbolna; I can take it. ;)

Germany Area Loop- Miniature Train Area
Chiemsee Polka by Die Oberkariner Volksmusikanten (The Best of German Marching Bands)

China:

Dance of Happiness by The Central Ensemble of Traditional Music
Song of Joy by Xiao Ping
Yu Fu Rong by the Chinese Ensemble of Movie and Folk Music

African Outpost:

Voices of Africa- Artist unknown

Norway:

Emigrantvalsen E’ du Bol- Sven Nyhus Kvartet Og Glamos Spellmanslag
The King of the Golden Hall- The Crimson Emsemble (this is music from Lord of the Rings)

Mexico:

This is fun stuff, Ladies and Gentlemen! Mariache Cobre, the group that plays in the Mexico Pavilion has at least one album. I downloaded 2 songs;

En Mi Viejo San Juan and
Esta Tarde Vi Llover

(both instrumentals) I am pretty excited to watch one of their sets and perhaps even get brave enough to request one of these!

So, this concludes our Musical Tour-

Coming up in the next weeks for your Pre-Trip Amusement, of which we are never lacking around here:

Window Decorations

Packed Food Ideas

Final thoughts on menu choices

A run-down on a few special MEETS!!

Our Germany itinerary

And LAST, and MOST FUN OF ALL-------------- our last GAME!!!! Details coming on that soon!

I really do need to see if I can find some movie mixes that are instrumental and seem like they'd fit the bill for easy listening background stuff. Good ideas, Melissa!!!

Good morning Liesa!

My first comment for the day unfortunately has to be: :sad::sad:
In yesterday's semi final the better team won - but that wasn't the German team... :sad2:

Yes, I saw that first thing this morning. I'm so sorry! I really thought Germany would take it all! Now it comes to Nederlands and Spain. Guess that will be an easy one to choose who to rout for! No friends in Spain.

This thread once again was horribly busy, so there is a lot to work on...

Yes, seems like it moves at warp speed!

That's interesting how different twins can be...

I know it! One is pretty mellow, the other is a whole nuther ball of wax. Those of you coming to the DC Meet get to meet "Ball of Wax".

Feed the Birds is the one song I don't like - for some reason or another I find it creepy. :confused3

I guess you either like it or don't. I heard it was Walt's favorite song.

I am not so sure that you will need Rippe that much... :rolleyes1 It was great talking to you! :cool1:

NO, unless I fall and break my hip. Which would really put a serious damper on all things tourist.

Yes, the Beatles got their breakthrough playing in a club in Hamburg. I think that's why they did some of their songs in German. But even Elvis did a song in German if I remember correctly. It must have been during his military service when he was stationed in Germany...

I remember that now. But didn't know that about Elvis. IN fact, I know nothing about him, except, he had some freakishly annoying thing with his rippe----s. (sorry, don't know the pluralization grammar)

Ok, that's a stupid argument! I am sure that any artist would be happy to take the royalties connected with additional sales of their music. I thought so too, as long as they get more moolah, who cares?!:confused3

I just had a pretzel bread roll for breakfast! :cloud9:

Ok, I need to go over and check Glenn's TR now...

mmm.... I think I'll have to find one in Nuremberg.

You can't get me with that one......YET! (unless you have pictures ) Now after my trip in December.....

Sounds like the makings of a new game! :cool1: You might not want to make that one pictorial though.....:rolleyes1

Nope, no pix; I've never been, and really don't need to. I"m not a big steaky kind of person. And really, it's a steakhouse.

That would certainly draw a crowd! :lmao: I figure if the DIS really wants to be equal opportunity, though, they should let JORDAN AND ME have a fair shot at showing our skivvies! Although mine would have to have a rated PG-13 for extememly disturbing scenes. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Elvis' was "Wooden Heart (Muss I Denn)"

I was asking about people's experiences at Yak and Yeti since Flame Tree is NOT an option for my trip! Have you eaten there? Did you like it? What'd ya get, etc.... ??

We didn't eat at the Yak and Yeti itself, we got food from the take-out counter right beside the entrance. (Uses same kitchen, I guess?) It was just kinda like Chinese take-out. Okay, but not much to write home, or on the DIS, about.

Good Morning Liessa !Did you get my PM????

Just wrote you back, Darlin'.

Expert.

That seems to be the general consensus. OK, not great. But I have heard good things about the TS place.

THis really has presented a problem.

Tusker House is only a buffet---- out

Pizzafari we'll be at later in the week----out

Rainforest is too loud, I want relaxing--- out

Picnic is only for 3 people or more------- out

Anandapur is only snacks------- out

Y&Y seems to be the only thing left. :confused3

I totally missed all the discussion on this so I'm jumping in blind.....
what about Tamu Tamu or Restuarantosoarus?

Well, I haven't talked too much about this, and sorta wanna keep something as a surprise for my dining report (pretty sure I will do one), but burgers and nuggets are not on my radar- at all.

Guess I need to go back and look at Tamu Tamu. I know I"ll need a real meal, not just snacks. So, I'll check it out again. Thanks, Heidi!

I totally missed out on the discussion too (nothing new there, am always catching up ...seem to choose PTR's and TR's that move quickly and have lots of followers.:) )

Restaurantosoarus is no more. :sad2: The character breakfast moved to Tusker House - we were disappointed in the change.

What and where is Tamu Tamu? For some reason have never heard of this one - which is neat!! A new place to explore!!

Liesa, will Flame Tree be closed? Even in the heat we so enjoy going down by the water, an if lucky find a table under a fan...sigh...heavenly.:goodvibes

It's ok,Christine! Really, half the time, I don't even know what's going on, and feel like Karrie in The Incredibles. Some move so stinkin' fast!

Tamu Tamu only has one, as far as I can tell, REAL food option- a turkey foccacia thing. Which is good, but only one choice. I like choices.

YEP, they closed up Flame Tree for our trip, and doesn't open until Sept. 19th, 5 days after we leave.

I was worried about trying Y&Y TS, but it was one of my favorite meals! The fried wonton dessert alone is worth a trip. :goodvibes

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Can't wait!!!!!!! No really, I mean it.....:rolleyes1

Those of you coming to the DC Meet get to meet "Ball of Wax".
I have seen lots of references to the DC Meet, and I think I've read about it somewhere in your voluminous DISertations. What are the details just in case I can work it into my schedule???

NO, unless I fall and break my hip. Which would really put a serious damper on all things tourist.

But didn't know that about Elvis. IN fact, I know nothing about him, except, he had some freakishly annoying thing with his rippe----s. (sorry, don't know the pluralization grammar)
So it looks like you have something in common with Elvis........... you both attract more attention with full rippe usage!!! I guess that makes you.......The Queen! :worship:

That would certainly draw a crowd! :lmao: I figure if the DIS really wants to be equal opportunity, though, they should let JORDAN AND ME have a fair shot at showing our skivvies! Although mine would have to have a rated PG-13 for extememly disturbing scenes. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Hmmm, think that rating might be selling you and Jordan a little short.......:lmao:

You mean at internet searches???? :surfweb:
