Sorry, but I have no compassion for the one who committed the crime. He is not the one who suffered or is suffering.

This country is too soft and too politically correct. If this had happened in other countries around the world, he would have been immediately executed in public for all to see.
I don't know about your God, but the one I studied growing up wouldn't have compassion for this man either. He sure didn't have it on Sodom and Gomorrah, nor many other instances in the Bible where people committed horrible wrongdoings. He killed whole armies of men, countries even, with plagues and floods and ordered other armies of men to go and kill thousands in His name and for His purposes. I honestly can't see Him holding people at fault for trying this man for what he is and holding him accountable for his actions, even if it means death.
