We had a great stay at the Cypress Pointe Grandvillas, and hope to return someday. We did not have any access to the apartments on the Cypress Pointe Resort side. (We were not eligible for any timeshare presentation, as our husbands did not accompany us.) Much of the public areas on the older "Resort" side have been refurbished, but I understand the apartments are not scheduled for remodeling/refurbishment for a little while. Check-in for both sides was in the club house on the "Resort" side.
We stayed in the Grandvillas the first week of August, in a three bedroom lockout. It was a beautiful double apartment - just couldn't be any nicer. Plenty of closet space, but limited bureau drawers in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well equiped, with lots of cabinet space and a pantry closet. There is a stackable washer/dryer, and a coat closet. The balcony/porch was screened, and had a table, four chairs, and a light and ceiling fan for evening enjoyment. There is a large screen television in the living room, and a modest sized television in the master bedroom. The first bath has a tub with shower. The master bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, and a separate shower. Maintenance response for a couple simple problems was very quick, efficient and friendly.
The "third bedroom" is actually in the second small apartment, with an efficiency kitchen. This gave us double the refrigerator space, double the ice-maker capacity, and double kitchen linens and consumables. There is no dishwasher on that side.
On the Grandvilla side there were two pools, hot tub (maybe two of those?), and a children's wading pool. The grounds are well kept, and there is a small putt-putt course, a convenience store (rather pricey) and tennis courts. There was plenty of parking, even when everyone was "home" late at night. It was a very quiet location, and there was no road noise.
It is a short walk from the Grandvilla side to the sister resort, Cypress Pointe Resort. You can use the amenities on that side, which include the volcano pool (a really unique design, complete with effective lighting at night, and three small waterslides) a volley ball court, basketball and tennis courts, and the arcade. Resort activities are conducted there, including some arts and crafts, and a movie night in the clubhouse.
There was a Winn Dixie very close by, much less expensive than the well known Goodings, and two drugstores within (long)walking distance. I think we were only two stop lights from the "Hotel Blvd." where the Downtown Disney hotels are located. (So close that the first couple days I almost missed the turn, we got there so quick.) It was a bit of a drive to the theme parks through Downtown Disney, but easy enough. (Maybe it would have been more efficient on I-4?) My only real complaint about the location is that some evenings the traffic on 535 was miserable, but may have been made worse by the road construction in the area.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cypress Pointe Grandvillas.
