Hi
My friend Has RCI timeshare and is trying to exchange a week. We've been offered both Cypress Pointe Grande Villas and Cypress Pointe Resort.
Has anybody stayed at these?
Are they different resorts?
Where exactly are they (I know the Crossroads area, how close to there?)
Do they offer a shuttle service to WDW? (we won't be hiring a car).
Any other info would be great.
Thanks
Tracy

They are two separate resorts that sit next to each other. You can see the full comparison between the unit styles and building features here:

http://cypresspointe.net/phase.html

The resorts share all common areas so those features are the same at both. Three pools, game room, exercise room, tennis, etc. The biggest difference may be that while older Cypress Pointe Resort units were recently 100% renovated which has earned that resort a Gold Crown status with RCI - a plus - but that resort has three story buildings with no elevators, a negative for some guests. Cypress Pointe Grande Villas is a Silver Crown resort with 4 & 5 story buildings - all with elevators. I like the original resort better but both are good choices.

They are 1/2 mile from Crossroads Plaza and 1 mile from Downtown Disney. At last check they did not have shuttles to the park but a cab is cheap or it's a 3/4 mile walk, with sidewalks all the way, to the first Disney bus stop on property.

This is a rather unique area in that you can literally walk to almost anything you want to do or may need from these resorts. That isn't true for most Orlando area timeshares or hotels.

We stayed there two years in a row and loved it. The resort is in Lake Buena Vista which is a very nice area. I always recommend CPR to my friends. :thumbsup2

It would be a long walk to get the bus to go to the parks, I would call the hotel and see if they have a shuttle or you could get a taxi if it were only for a couple days.

There is a Winn Dixie in walking distance (grocery store) so you can buy food/supplies affordably. The food/supplies at their on site store is outrageous.

Within walking distance there is a Joe's Crab Shack, Steak and Shake, Chinese resturant, Phillycheeseteak place and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head. If you are willing to walk to Crossroads you will have loads of choices for food there!

We've stayed at both of them and found them to be nice.

I have stayed there several times. It is a great place to stay! I would NOT stay there without a car. If you look at the top of the forum page, you will see "Search this Forum". Click on that and type in Cypress Pointe. Tons of info on this forum about CP. Have a great trip!!

Thanks so much for your great replies. We liked the sound of this one but we've just found out that the 2 bedroom unit has gone for the dates we need.

Thanks again
Tracy
