Thanks as always! How do you all deal with searching through stacks of coupons each week? I stopped clipping long ago because it was so overwhelming to cut and sort, etc... so now I just clip them as I need them. That still takes a good hour + each week to go through every book I have since I still have to go through multiples (albeit much faster) in case I didn't clip a coupon from each one of them. So annoying!

Here's an idea I got from LanaJae. Write the date of the insert on its cover. You can find the date on the "binding" of the insert in case you need to check some old ones for dates. Use a site such as Hot Coupon World that has a coupon data base to look up items you want to purchase each week. These indexes tell you which inserts have the coupons in them for what you want to buy or if they are found elsewhere like in magazines, etc. Keep the old inserts as long as possible (especially if your stores will accept expired coupons) in a large shoe box, reusable bag, etc. filed in order by date for easy reference. I have my old inserts that go back to early November and keep them in two reusuable bags which I keep in an old printer paper box. I keep those on the bottom with the newest 2/28 SS on top. HTH!

I also am conductor for a coupon train. We mail coupons to our train buddies each week. I keep all the coupons I want to keep each week from my sender in plastic accordian type organizers since they're already cut out. I have labeled each section with categories such as produce, canned goods, beverages, frozen, dairy, paper, plastic, etc. etc.

Thanks, Flaky for posting our new week. It's looking better than the past couple weeks. :thumbsup2

I see a few things...but I have a bunch of ECB expiring so hoping a $x/$xx comes my way!

For coupons, I am weird and clip them all. I find it relaxing...I do it in front of the TV at night. I file the coupons alphabetically. It is a pretty quick to sort them since I just need to glance at the product name. ONce a month I go through them and pull out all the expireds.

For food coupons, i only clip items I know we will eat. Those I file by category (can goods, cereal, snacks, frozen foods, etc).

I also file entire inserts. I have a plastic file holder, milk crate style, with hanging files. Each week I file all my inserts by date. So much easier than clipping.

Each week I take out the oldest file and discard inserts.

I clip all mine - makes a lot of work, but I give away all my unclipped coupons - those for things I absolutely won't use - like certain brands of cat food, depends, etc.

Just a heads up on another possible source for Oral B toothbrush coupons. I came across a tear pad at the dentist's office when I took my son for his cleaning earlier this week. They are for $2 off any Oral B crossaction brush. They don't expire until 6/30/10. This will make the deal a moneymaker next week! Yeah.

Thanks to Flaky for posting the deals once again.

Thanks for posting Flaky! Looks like a much better week than last week.

I clip all of my coupons. I get my inserts and my sister in law passes hers on to me as well. She clips very few coupons - only if she is going to buy the item that week. My mother gets two Sunday papers and also gets my grandmother's inserts. She clips all of hers. I go through what she doesn't want. Whatever is left gets added to the pile of my own coupons I don't want and is sent to my other sister-in-law.

I also buy my Sunday paper at Wal-Mart before going to CVS and the grocery store. I keep a small pair of scissors in the glove compartment and go through the weekly inserts in the car, clipping any coupons for sale items that week.

Thanks everyone! I forgot about the sites that list where the coupons are, that'll help a ton!

Thanks for posting! There are quite a few items I want to get this week.

I too clip all my coupons. In case I run into a deal in the store I like to have all my coupons with me at my disposal. If I keep up on it every week then it isn't so daunting. When I go away and come home to multiple papers, then it may take awhile to catch back up.

Is the Colgate BOGO on any product or a specific one etc?

Did anyone get a cvs postcard with 20% off sat or sun. stating you are one of their very best customers? I got this but I usuallly get the $5 e mail ones and I havent been there in a while but I think I will use it when I pick up my meds tomm. or sunday.

No I did not get that postcard, darn! Anyone else? And no coupon this week either :(

Nope, I didn't get a postcard or email but I never do anymore. I don't even get coupons on the scanner anymore with the exception of GE candy. :headache: I think I'm on their "do not under any circumstances give this CVSer anything good" list.

My plan for later today:

4 Kelloggs cereals 4/10 Use 1.50/2 IP's. Get 5 ECB's. Makes them .50 each.
4 Lindt Truffles 2/$6 Use 4 coupons (-$4) Buy $10/get $3 ECB's
2 Oral B Cross Action toothbrushes (limit 2) $4 each and get $4 ECB's for each one. Use .75 coupons on each. Makes it a 1.50 mm for two (minus tax).
2 Nivea Lip Care $2.99/2.99 ECB. (Limit 1) Using BOGOF coupon. Makes both free.

I'll post later what actually occurred. You know what they say about best laid plans........ :rotfl:

i just got this coupon -- went to the dentist and they put it in my little toothbrush goody bag.!

Hey Friends! I have wanted to start CVSing but the last few weeks didn't look promising but this week seems to have a better array of stuff. Can someone help me plan my first visit? We honestly don't use many drugstore brands, though I would like to buy the Pantene, Nivea, and pregnancy tests IF they will work with the CVSing strategy this week.

I use CVS for all my rx and get lots of ECB there but never use them - they just expire. I'd like to start CVSing and donate most of the stuff to our community ministries center - we always need lots of drugstore items. I think that if I do this right I will be able to make my few dollars go a lot further in buying toiletries and such for the center. I hope!

Can someone help me figure out what I need to buy this week to get started? I do not have any ECBs or coupons on hand (they all expired, I just checked!). And if they involve the pantene, nivea, and pregancy tests then great. If not, no problem.

Thank you! :worship:
