CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 8/19-8/25

It's tylenol pm and the coupon is in their easysaver coupon book at the front of the stores with the ads.

darn, I need Tylenol, not Tylenol PM

What is shows is that CVS' $4.99 and then $2.50 back in ECB may still be overpaying if you can get this elsewhere cheaper and then not have to get an ECB. I know we all love them (me included) but sometimes just because it's got an ECB doesn't mean it's a great deal.

ITA...I was going to make a trip to Walgreens as it works out cheaper than CVS, but now that I know it's only for Tylenol PM, I'll stick to buying Tylenol it at CVS this time. Thanks for your help!

Definitely don't go to Walgreens if you want regular tylenol! I've never tried the PM so thought I'd get it and CVS vs Walgreens...Walgreens was a better deal.

Not for me. If the product is $4.99, I had a $1 off mfg coupon for it, then I also had a $2 off CRT for it, making it only $1.99. I had a $2 ECB to use, so it didn't cost me a cent out of pocket, then I got another $2 ECB to use at a future date (or $2.50 or whatever it was). So it was a better deal for me than the Walgreens one (the closest walgreen's to me is an hour away anyway).

Now there ARE some CVS deals that, in the end, just aren't a good enough deal because of other stores promotions. But that particular one was the best deal for me.

Wow! I didn't even think that the $4/$20 coupon was fake! Maybe I should stop using it. ????????? It has never been refused, so I just figured it is okay to use.

I don't know- that is just what I read on HCW, and just the one with the Dec exp date. Like I said- my CVS stores never had a problem taking them. I haven't tried one in over a month though. I'm one of those people who overthinks things and I have the fully unrealistic vision of CVS bean counters tallying up every one of those and sending me a bill for every time I used it after the first time. It does say right on it that it is to be used once. I wish I wasn't such a wuss sometimes:rolleyes: , because I was getting better deals with that print out. Also- they could program a new code and phase out the code on that email if they were truly concerned, like someone else mentioned. Maybe they are.:confused3

I personally feel that if it was fraudulent, the code wouldn't work. That CVS would somehow stop the use of them.

I too thought the coupon was "fake" after reading some fuss on HCW but I can tell you IT IS NOT. I signed up/updated my email and they sent me a link to the same EXACT server. The only difference is the expiration date. If you take the link:

http://www.extracarerewards.com/welcome/welcome_121607.gif

the last digits are the expiration date 121607, 12-16-07. You can CHANGE that number to ANY Sunday in the year 2007 and you will get the gif for that date. When I updated my account, CVS sent me a link to the gif with the expiration date closest to the date sent and matches the server above. It is indeed legit. CVS just wasn't good about covering their tracks and people found the pattern to the link code.

However, when I updated my account TODAY they sent me a different code embedded in the email, rather than a link to a code. That way, my email address and name prints on the paper with the code.

I suspect that the plan is to offer all discounts this way or with CRTs in the near future. I imagine they are just working out the kinks and eventually they will shut down the server hosting the gifs OR keep the server open until the end of this year with the last of the gifs expire.

As long as they keep emailing me different codes and printing out $10/50 CRTs (have had a minimum of one a week), I don't have any use for the old generic code.

HTH someone.

PS, between tylenol and advil PM I have enough sedative pain relievers to put myself in a coma for the next year. (mind you I only use one cvs card!)

I also received my "winterize your medicine cabinet" rebate for the great medicine deal we had a few weeks ago. They only sent $4.50 rather than $5 but I figure its all gravy anyways!

About that rebate- I sent mine in in June, and it was just returned to me a week ago, with no rebate! It said I didn't have the receipt included-funny cause they sent the receipt back to me! I was not a happy camper. So I sent it back again, and am hoping it goes through. First time I've ever had a problem with a rebate. :confused3

Thank you for posting this! I didn't really believe it was a fraud coupon anyway, but this does put my mind totally at ease. :)

I am in the wuss line too!! :lmao: I am always nervous that the register will beep and then the bean counters come running:rotfl: I don't even use more than one ECB at a time. Sometimes if I am feeling really brave, I chance it. (I did get told one time that I could not use more than one, so now I am paranoid)

Yes, quoting myself!

I didn't have as many gum coupons as I thought I did, so I bought some more yesterday evening off of Ebay....I went back to re-read the auction I won...I'm a dummy....I must've misread or miscalculated something...but I have 100 of those $1/1 coupons coming! :lmao: I'll be chewing gum until the next millenium.

Bumping from page 3. I'm working on my trip for Sunday.

I have some CVS bucks which expired today. Is there any way to get them reinstated?
