CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 3/16/08-3/22/08

:chat: I just talked to Smiller & she said she would go on her lunch break tomorrow to buy the tote & then try to use the coupon to buy the next tote. :teacher:

She'll report back. Ha!

I drove past a CVS tonight :car: without stopping at it. I can't believe it either! I even had my whole CVS bag with me to shop if I needed to. My DH saw me leaving the house with it (I was going to Dominick's) and he said, "oh are you going to CVS too?"

and I didn't! It is a CVS miracle! :rotfl:

The only thing I could have possibly needed was the free glad spray and those vitamin C that I can't find!

I had a prescription refilled today for one of my kids. It was a CVS prescription that I asked them if they would transfer to RiteAid ($40 GC offer for transfers). They goofed and just called the refill into CVS. I asked CVS if they would honor the RiteAid transfer GC and they said yes. So that worked out well and saved me a trip to Rite Aid.
While standing in line for the RX counter, I saw an end cap with Blistex on clearance 75% off. They were .57 cents each. It was Blistex LipTone SPF 15 and Blistex Ultra Protection SPF 30.
No Pot of Gold boxes anywhere in town and 2 stores told me they did not issue rainchecks for it either. Oh well...I have plenty of candy at this point anyway.

LanaJae had posted that someone else on another board posted that the coupon in the tote worked, so happy shopping. I'm not able to go today, but will try tomorrow after work if I can and if they still have any (currently priced $1.49).:wizard:

Hello Everyone!:cutie:

I haven't gotten to report my shopping, and of course my reciepts aren't in front of me but Smiller & I did great. We hit the 24 HR store Saturday night and were there for an hour! I did 5 transactions!:rotfl:

Anyway, then we went CVSing Sunday morning and got more bic soliel and I found the playskool totes:woohoo: and I bought the Diabetes tester in the ad.

PROBLEM OF THE DAY:

The Diabetes tester rebate is not valid. It expired in Dec 2007. CVS advertised the manufacturer's rebate in the ad and in the store. What do I do? I think someone else posted about this. I think I'll call the corporate CVS number while my DS is napping this afternoon. Any ideas?

Any results on the problem of the day??

2 Questions:

1. When something is BOGO does free item count toward total for 5/15 or 4/20?

2. When something is a sale price, does it count at regular price toward the 5/15 or 4/20 total? (Ex. Diapers are 10.99/ reg. price 14.99; does 10.99 or 14.99 price go toward total?)

Thanks so much, I don't know why this is so hard for me to figure out. :confused3

Newbie to the CVS ECB deals - I've lurked on these threads but I get too overwhelmed even thinking about trying it out. Well last night (Monday) I decided to jump in and see if I could have the kind of success as all of you. And ....... no luck.

We have 1 CVS in town and they were all out of the jelly beans, plastic eggs and the Pot of Gold candies.

They were also out of the Listerine Smart Rinse and the toothbrushes. They did have 4 deo. left though.

Out of the Fab laundry detergent.

And most of the milk was frozen.

By that point I was frustrated and didn't look for anything else. I ended up buying 1 deo. and 1 of the gallons of milk that wasn't frozen.

Maybe I'll try again next week and see if I have better luck.

  The past weeks here have been bad---had a friend die and then my entire family came down with the flu crud---so I did not get out that much. Well I looked in my bag and saw that I had several ECB's expire. No big deal they took one several weeks ago that expired so I will try that. NOPE--did not work. SO I called and they will not reissue them--it was 16 total. I knew when I went in that it would not be good b/c it was Mr. I appear like I want to help you, but I am really the CVS police in disguise cashier. This is the one that would not let me use a coupon for the Dove when it was BOGO free last time. I bought several and he would only let me use one coupon--did not even scan it --just flat out no.

SO I NEED YOUR HELP
I have a 15 ECB that expire tomorrow
---what are the best things I could do with this. I bought eggs and some Dove yesterday. I still need to finish that one today. Also, I bought Dove deodarant (all I use) and it did not count. THere was a sign over it and all but it did not go towards my total--any ideas on this.

1. Technically no. If your card is scanned first, it shows as BOGO. If an item is scanned before you give your card to be scanned, it removes the amounts when the cashier presses total.

Some of the coupons with a bar code would probably remove the amount anyway, but the cashiers are supposed to verify the final total.

2. No for the same reason as 1.

The people who caused problems at CVS were trying to get around this by having their cards scanned at the end and trying to get the cashier to use coupons before s/he pressed total. Stores have received memos saying to press total before scanning coupons.

All of us regular shoppers here want them to press total first because you can "go negative" if they don't. This might not make sense now, but it'll happen some day if you keep shopping there. You end up either losing ECBs or scrambling to find something to fill in.

I couldn't find the Pot of Gold candy yesterday, and asked for a raincheck... But now I am wondering if the raincheck will still give me ECBs... Will it?

Sorry to hear this - it's been bad lately for out of stock items. I try to work off a big list every week and cross things off so I have many options.

Do you have all the free after ECB items? I would go for the 5 pain patches, toothpaste, Pro-Health Night Rinse, small tubes of Lumene, LypSyl or Vitamin C just to roll those ECBs into the same amounts to spend in the future.

If you've done all those deals, write back and I'll look for other workable deals.

Sorry about your friend too! (and the flu)

Only if it is there this week.

I couldn't find the Pot of Gold candy yesterday, and asked for a raincheck... But now I am wondering if the raincheck will still give me ECBs... Will it?

Actually, the ECBs will not be generated now since the deal for the Pot of Gold was only Sunday and Monday. The person who wrote the raincheck should have marked it to reflect the price and ECBs to be received. Different stores will do this in different ways. Some won't issue rainchecks for ECBs items.

What does your raincheck say?

I used the coupon in the Playskool tote for another Playskool tote today! :cool1: $0.49 total. :thumbsup2

To be honest, this is a filler item for me. A "I'm using so much coupons and ECBs, it won't matter to throw one of these in the basket" kind of things.

The wipes will come in handy - but there are only 5 in them. Cute tote but it doesn't close on top (open tote). Otherwise, it would have been perfect to throw the girls' leapster in them. One for each of them. As of now, I still haven't found a good use for them.

I don't have any more babies so I don't need the bottle or the diapers. The coupons are nice, but again, I don't need the baby coupons - except the accessory coupon to buy MORE totes!! :rotfl2:

The ONE coupon for 20 free 4x6 prints in each tote is nice but I'm kind of disappointed that it is for in store use only (from your digital camera card or picture CD). I haven't got the patience to print pictures in the store anymore - especially 20 at a time (Limit one coupon per customer). I've been spoiled by years of uploading them on-line and just picking them up at the store or sent to my house if there is a free shipping offer.

The nice thing about the coupons are that they don't expire until 12/30/08. Maybe if I participate in a PhotoCD share at WDW, I could use the photo coupons for that. Or this Christmas, our Christmas Photo Card will be the 4x6 size and I will use it up that way. Much easier to print 20 at a time when they are all the same picture. ;)

P.S. Youarehere: What's the "Seasonal Cottonelle"? It wouldn't be the elusive "Christmas toiletpaper" would it (there was a post about that sometime ago, it's the 20 or maybe even more roll count, marked down as seasonal)? Don't like the idea of someone watching me shop, although I guess I understand if there's be a lot of stealing in that location, but it still would detract from my always-enjoyable CVS shopping.

Yeah, It is the Christmas toilet paper. We are only a little less than half-way through the stash. They probably watch me because I wander the store looking at things- in and out of my purse for q's and ECB's- checking labals to make sure I have the right item- I can see how I might look fishy, but I don't have that problem at any other CVS, and it does make me uncomfortable.

My store was out as well. I asked somebody and they said they were never put out. She went in the back and got me a tote full. I hate the taste of all mouth wash so I thought I would try this for me. I like the berry blast flavor (the other was mint - yuck!) I might need DH to go get some more with his card. They also have it at Walgreens and with the mail in it is free. It is a small bottle, so I would like to get as many as I can. We also have well water, so no fluoride in the water. I figured the extra fluoride would be a good thing too. My teeth are not getting any younger!;)

my store here never had the Cottonelle and doesn't have the totes either!
=( I have kids...some of those things could come in handy. Oh well...

If you have an ECB for $15 and only buy $10 worth of merchandise using that ECB what happens to the other $5? Do you lose it?

It depends on how they wrote it on the raincheck. I am assuming they wrote it out as free. No need to deal with ECB.

Last night when I went --remember the cashier--I only act like I want to help you---he offered me a rain check and I even casually said it would be great if I could still get eh ECB's or a discount---he said quckly-that will never happen. I laughed it off.

TOTE PEOPLE---if any of you are getting rid of the totes or things in them you would not use please let me know----I would love any of the coupons you don't use and even the totes themslves---they make great bags for my younger two in the car. I would even pay postage.
