CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 2/3/08-2/9/08

Hi, this is my first post, and let me start by saying a big "thank you" to all you experts that have helped me get started. I wanted to follow up on the bad experience that a previous poster had in Miami Beach - CVS cashiers in Miami generally are pretty bad. They've called managers on my husband a couple of times (as if the money was theirs!) and just generally been not nice. More often than not, we've been treated as if we were stealing It's been discouraging BUT we've saved so much money allready, that we don't want to stop. So, thanks again for helping this newbie get started.

My total came to $23-something with tax. Gave her a $4/20 and then an ECB of $15.96 and the lady FREAKED OUT. I mean seriously freaking out swearing in Spanish. She kept calling for a manager over the intercom in this panicked voice and kept telling me to "stay right there and not move!"

Wow, that was an experience. Today I encountered a teenager that wasn't too happy with me. I gave her my $4/20 coupon and then CVS giftcard. Then I gave her my ECBs that were on the counter the entire checkout process. Once she saw them she freaked out and kept saying: "what am I supposed to do with these now... they're supposed to be entered BEFORE you giftcard...I can't accept these....do you expect me to ring all these up AGAIN???" Well, since no one else was there, I told her to please start over again and then I will hand things over in the RIGHT order. How was I supposed to know and even then the attitude was not appreciated.

In the end I walked away with free Sambucol (after the rebate), free Maybelline makeup, free Aspirin and Garnier fructis.

OMG!! Sometimes you would think the money was coming out of the employees pocket or something!

And don't even get me started on the TSA!!! At least you got your ECB's for it! I would've been ticked if I'd been out the product and the $10!

That's exactly what I thought too - Sambucol is made in France, I wonder if they thought it was a liqueur? Sure was weird to have that taken away. I'll never go through Miami Intl. again - Fort Lauderdale is only 10 miles further and a world of difference. TSA was a nightmare, they yelled at everyone and every 3rd person it seems was hauled in a back room and it took a full hour to get through the line. One guy's flight was soon (traffic delay on the way there) so people let him go to the front when TSA said he couldn't, so right on schedule he was brought for a full search.

So who wants to start a "CVS Shopping Seminar" with me in Miami? LOL

Its so funny some cashiers are sooo nice...they smile They are more than happy to help with the coupons and even get excited to see the ecb print But, then there are the others They are scarey they see you with the coupons and the look on thier face calling the managers checking every detail like I was printing the ecbs myself then the stupid register beeps off I go to another store

Thanks, I am sorry you have to go through that just to shop, I couldn't do it. I just didn't get it, the cashier was friendly when I walked up so I was completely taken by surprise when she went nuts. I sure am jealous of the size of the stores there!

Someone here suggested keeping the coupons/ECBs in your purse and handing them one by one so they don't grab them and make a mess of the order, so I've been doing that with the crabby people.

OMG i'm on such an ECB high this week..... My dh is so waiting for the day they try to arrest me for coupons or something.

The only downer was that i went to one of the stores tonight (because they usually stock well for odd stuff and have a pretty decent makeup aisle)

Yes Napoleon was there and in usual rare form....

and the worst was that he wouldn't take my $10/50 CRT because i had a printed 10/50....

Ahh that's ok only spent $1.80 and about $30 in ECB's but then got back $21 in ecb's....

I hate him...

I hold all my coupons, CRTs and printables in my hand till the entire order is rung up. Then I hand the coupons in the order 1 at a time the way I want to use them. I would hate to have to slap a hand coming across to get my coupons.

i just read a good idea on another site, if you have a coupon and it does not specify a size - you can use it on a travel size - as a filler? good idea i think!

I had gotten several Q's for aleve - $1 off any - and have been using those as fillers just like the buddies Q's.

Recently I got a CRT for $2.50 off Nuprin - well they have a carry type of vial with 10ct in them and it is $2.49 regular price so free!!!! if anyone has that CRT.

can someone explain the Sambucol ECB and why it is a good deal? the shelf tag says $12.99 and you get $10 back. It still costs you $2.99. Does anyone ever use it?
