CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 2/3/08-2/9/08

can someone explain the Sambucol ECB and why it is a good deal? the shelf tag says $12.99 and you get $10 back. It still costs you $2.99. Does anyone ever use it?

It is a good filler to use a $/$$ off Q. Say you have $40 worth of merch. By adding the Sambucol to your order you could then use the $10/$50 CRT (if you have one) and thus saving an additional $7 (subtract the $2.99 "cost"). This is why so many are using it. Also there is a rebate for full amount back so free after rebate as well.

Has CVS ever NOT had the 15 off 75 or 5 off 30 coupons. I know they expired on the 3rd and I am patiently waiting to get new ones, but I cant shop at CVS without them... I am going through withdrawls. So I am starting to worry that the coupons wont be released.

I'm starting to worry too, I just replanned all my transactions. I'll end up spending $4 oop but only be left with $5ECB *if* all goes as planned

Oh yeah, what happened after January 1st (and the battery coupons at Christmas) was incredible, it's not a regular occurrence - most of the time we are lucky to have a $4/20. Some people get $2/10 on CRTs and some get $10/50 (has been happening to me every other week). One of the cashiers at CVS gets a $3/15 every time he buys something, he doesn't know why as he's the only one who does.

If you have any still printed that expired on 2-3-08, most stores will accept them up to exactly 2 weeks after the date. The register doesn't beep during that time, but at the 2 week mark, the register won't accept them. The store doesn't have to accept them though, so if they say no, just put it away and try somewhere else.

I've tried it, it's actually a very safe product as it's just elderberry juice extract which has been used for centuries to protect the immune system from common viruses in winter months. I would bet it's safer than using Airborne and probably has the same results.

What supposedly sets Sambucol apart from other elderberry extracts is the way they do it.

Tell him to use one of the toothpastes :rotfl2:

Funny you should say that....

Conditioner actually works REALLY well in place of shaving cream or gel! I read it somewhere once and tried it. Now, I do still use gel, but if I run out while I'm in the shower, I use conditioner. Or when I go on vacation, i dont' want to pack both, so I use conditioner. It's also a good way to use conditioner that you try and don't like or freebies you get that you don't want to use.

I knew it before you even said it!!!!!
I went in there the other night and he had a photolab coat on and was working there. Thank goodness.

HI girls....

OMG i'm on such an ECB high this week..... My dh is so waiting for the day they try to arrest me for coupons or something.

The only downer was that i went to one of the stores tonight (because they usually stock well for odd stuff and have a pretty decent makeup aisle)

You know kimya the Yellow Springs store...

And guess who was working.....DOH

Yes Napoleon was there and in usual rare form....

and the worst was that he wouldn't take my $10/50 CRT because i had a printed 10/50....

UGGGGG

Ahh that's ok only spent $1.80 and about $30 in ECB's but then got back $21 in ecb's....

I hate him...

Cool, I'm going to try it tonight as I have about 4 conditioners that I don't like. Thanks Kimya!

I will try tomorrow. Has anyone else tried this? My CVS does not check dates or anything unless the register beeps.

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about. CRTs? If so, they do beep at my CVS stores immediately after expiring, but my stores will take them up to 30 days expired and just push them through.

Me TOO! Love this stuff now- I am def maxing out my deals on it, because I really want it. It even tastes ok. I'm trying to do them all on different reciepts so I can hand out the rebates.

What's the secret on getting more than one rebate? It says one per address. Also, what is the monthly limit on this deal?

Thanks for all the help.

I used a $10/50 printable that expired on 2-3-08 last night. It makes it less of a problem (with the cashiers) because they scan. I know from another board (with CVS employees who post) that they beep exactly at midnight 2 weeks after the expiration date.

I read another discussion that said the willingness to accept any expired CVS coupons has to do with how often they send them in, some stores only send them in the week after the 1st, so they are less likely to accept them. It sounded like corporate CVS reimburses the stores for them up to a certain point after the expiration.

HEADS-UP: I didn't get an ECB ($3.99) last night for Garnier conditioner (the same type as in the picture in the ad, except conditioner). Called today and they said it's been happening, so check your receipts.

Yeah apparently he's the photo lab manager(according to his tag anyway). (lucky them)

Ugg just get him off the registers already.....:headache:

Got to plan a $10/50 trip with my other card. I only have $13 in ecb's on that one though so it will be harder to plan with low OOP.

And no i don't want any sambucol.....

I might be better off just burning through some ecb deals like the maybelleine eyeshadow (i can still get 2 on that card) and the boost smoothies and then using the other bucks over again....

I have to work through the math...

Thanks for all the help.

I think other people are just giving them to friends/family and I do that too - my husband works with a CVSer like us and she'll fill out rebates and put the stamps on the envelope and give them for door prizes so all someone has to do is fill in their name and address.

The limit is 5 for this month.

A trick that sometimes works for me (if you live near a city) (and in a suburb), you can often use the city name on one with another family member's name and the suburb name on another. Depends on how the rebate center sorts to look for duplication.
