CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 2/24/08-3/01/08

To both you and Clarabelle....

Please send me some Poise! (I am laughing too hard)

I have no Poise...but I have quite the stockpile of diapers that I've accumulated and I don't even have kids! I use them to put with gifts.

I bet we could fashion something out of those for ya!

Sorry all my Poise coupons went to grumpy on the coupon trading thread!

Thanks!

Just a tidbit of info for ya that I learned from a pharmacist. The Extra Strength Excedrin and the Excedrine Migaine are exactly the same thing. If you look at the active ingredients, they are both Acetaminophen 250mg, Aspirin 250mg and Caffeine 65mg. The only reason one is marketed as "migraine" is because they include information about migraines in the inserted information packet. So if you know of anyone who uses one, they can use the other! And if they are different prices, get the cheaper one.

I've had migraines before....but never a tension migraine and never anything this bad. It started out with eye floaters earlier in the day, so now I know what to watch for!

Kimya

I get the floaters and the aura with my regular migraines. Good to know those 2 formulas are the same. The aspirin tears my tummy up but I need it to knock out the headache.

Yeah...stupid me, i started reading stuff on the internet yesterday and today about migraines, symptoms and treatments. I read a little about spinal taps!

When you mentioned that your neck was still so tight my first thought was whether or not they tested you for meningitis. Viral meningitis is going around the schools here. :crazy2:

Feel better soon!

Psst...

Mason is wearing a size 3 in diapers....

Just saying...
:wave2:

Not that I didn't stock up last week or anything...

Yikes - I wouldn't wish it on anyone and can't imagine kids having to deal with it :(. Everytime I've been in, they do the spinal draw and then they FREAK OUT. Aseptic looks identical to bacterial meningitis on the initial culture, but the culture doesn't continue to grow, but they have to treat you as if you have bacterial meningitis until they watch the culture for about 24 hours. IV morphine doesn't even touch the pain.

It's not like it was on Friday night, but I can still feel a little something....but thanks for putting the fear of death into me! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I'll bring my stockpile to our CVS pool party!

Whoooo hoooooooo! He will probably be in size 4 by then. How far is it to Frederick from Bel Air? There is a kids consignment sale in Frederick that looks fun.

Probably about an hour and a half or so. I'm not sure if it would be any quicker to go over through Westminster, then come down 27 to 70 into Frederick.

If you tell me which consignment shop, I can ask around. Many of my friends have kids and lots of them like to peruse the consignments here.

Aren't we sweet! I should say that even if it was viral meningitis, you'd be over the worst of it now! You don't die from that, you just wish you would :rotfl2:

Then I'm pretty sure I didn't have it because after they gave me percocet, i didn't feel a darn thing! And...I don't even remember that I didn't feel a darn thing! :rotfl:

Forgot this..

For Softsoap handsoap, in Cashmere, it is not printing the $1 ECB, instead it is giving a sale price of $1.40 (sale price should be $1.79, regular price $2.79).

Too funny! I had it once in the 1980's and I didn't like how I felt from it. I remember a friend of a friend visiting at my apt. and asking me if they could buy it and I thought that was the craziest thing I ever heard (how naive!). I must've had half a brain then because I said no, and I flushed it the next day. That half a brain is now down to 1/4 because I can't remember what was wrong with me to have something so strong.

They were very hard to find.........1st CVS had only 3 another had none and the last had about 5! Look behind some of the other products around it - some fell behind........

lisa

So I post this deal about Preparation H travel wipes in the middle of the night last night and slept in this morning... wouldn't you know, not one store out of 4 had any!

I did, I could see the spot for them and each store had 1 or 2 full-size wipes, but mostly the shelves were filled with the CVS brand (must not be as good). I wonder when they take February deals off - I know they started it early because I found a bottle of Sambucol on Jan. 31 and it counted against my Feb. totals and not my January totals.

A question....Is this new or have I just missed it along the way?:confused3

Yesterday, during my trip to CVS and then again today, the cashier stopped me from using coupons/ECBs. I was told that you can not use more coupons/ECBs than number of items that you have....

Today I bought the following:

Tylenol
Johnson's Lotion
Nutra Trim Gum
Prep-H Portables
Scotch Tape

I used:
1 JnJ Q
1 Tylenol Q
1 $4/20
1 Prep H Q
1 $5 ECB

Although I still had a balance, they would not let me use any more ECBs because I purchased 5 items and couldn't use more than the number I purchased.

Is this new or did I miss this explanantion? Except for yesterday, this has never happened before. It was at 2 different stores.

Thank you!

They are mistaken - it's one CVS coupon (ECBs count as coupons in the register system) for each item or the register will beep. Mfg. coupons are not counted towards that.

Really, they have to take all your ECBs according to corporate because they are "just like cash." The problem is that the register needs a shift supervisor or manager's over-ride if you have more ECBs and CVS coupons than items.

There have been some confusing memos sent to stores and I believe that your stores are mistaken because the current memo states "one printable $/$$ coupon per transaction." (edit: according to a very nice manager near me who told me what it said)

The odd thing is that your transaction would've went through without a problem I think so they were either paranoid or had the policy explained to them wrong. You can call the number on the back of your card and they will call the store and set them straight on this.

I visited with someone on Saturday night who said that most of the changes that are taking place with coupons are not because of normal customers who use coupons.

Apparently there are family-owned convenience-type stores in urban areas and those people travel all over and bring about 20 family members to CVS to buy up everything they can to resell in their businesses. CVS has started putting metal-backed stickers on items (I've seen them on razors and some OTC meds) to try to curb this, but it's a growing problem and getting out of control - each person will do several transactions just with free after ECB items and $/$$ coupons and roll them into more free after ECB items and then they drive away with vans loaded with merchandise.

So how is that any different than the ones who do this and sell at their work, at a yard sale, on Ebay etc. :confused3 All are the same.

As usual the greedy ruined it for all the rest.
