CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 12/28-1/3

I had earned some gift cards to Rite Aid so I am trying to spend them as quickly as possible. I am worried that they will file Bankruptcy in January and sometimes they don't honor gift cards when that happens. I have about $5 to go.....I am not too worried about the SCR rebates as those are run by an outside company.

Uh oh! I hadn't heard that Rite Aid was in that much trouble.

I can't believe that the baby I always look at in your signature pictures is already big enough for his own room and on his last pack of diapers!
Tell me about it! I don't know where the time has gone! I really need to update the picture, but I miss seeing him as a baby too much!

Uh oh! I hadn't heard that Rite Aid was in that much trouble.
Rite Aid keeps popping up on all the different websites as one of the stores in danger of filing bankruptcy in early 2009......I don't find it hard to believe because there is hardly ever anyone in the ones by me. The CVS's are always packed though, and hardly anyone there usese the extra care cards or coupons! They are building a Brand NEW Rite Aid right down the block from my work though and are about half done, so I don't think they will close completely, but who knows! They just opened 2 stand alone starbucks near me and both BRAND NEW stores were closed within a year!

Is there a link still available for the coupon?

It is on iheartcvs.com. I usually go through the weekly ad listing and print through all the links that are posted there. It is also in the coupon section on that site.

I am still at the novice stage with cvs, but i have some ideas of what to do.

However, my mom gave me a $5 off your next shopping order coupon from WALGREENs register rewards. My question is do i need a card? It is going to expire and she said she didnt think she used a card. I read it over and it didnt look like it but thought i would ask just in case cause i do read about walgreens on the cvs threads.

Also, i just got back in town. Does anyone know where the Pantene coupons are coming from?

Hey CVSers! I haven't been to CVS yet this week but may need to check out Rite Aid and Walgreens for some free/cheap stuff! :goodvibes

I cannot thank all of you enough for getting me started and hooked on this!

To the new person just starting - do not worry about flames. I've asked (and still do) a million dumb questions and everyone's been sweet as can be each time! Great DISers here!! :grouphug: Good luck with your purchases!!!

My goal for Christmas 2009 is to be able to give everyone a gift basket of personal care items that I never paid for!!! :thumbsup2

I think next week's ad looks better for me in regards to things I'll actually use so I'm probably going to save my ECBs for next week.

I love reading everyone's deals and how they put the different transactions together - it's taught me so much! Thanks again everyone!!!!

LOL, I put together HUGE baskets for my grandparents and DH's. Both are on fixed incomes and they both raved and raved about them. Funniest part though is that both sets gave back the baskets and asked me to refill them next Christmas for them :lmao:

Tell them you'll refill them for birthdays, etc. That's too cute! I've been donating all my extras to the troops because I don't really have anyone else to give them to right now. We were out visiting my stepdaughter last week and took her to CVS with us. She was really excited and we gave most of the stuff to her because we didn't want to drag it back.

I also filled 10 gift baskets for many familly members and friends and everyone loved all the different items in their baskets, from cleaning products to H&BAs. My daughter also put together 8 gift bags for her friends instead of buying something small for each. She and her friends are in their 20's so the bags were filled with lipgloss, mascara, nailpolish, bodywash, etc. Again, her friends loved the items.

I also made 2 huge gift baskets for 2 different families we "adopted" at work. After all gift bags were made and gift baskets made, I donated the rest of the items to our local women's shelter. My mother took the boxes of H&BA items up to the shelter for me and she said that the director of the shelter said they were always in need of the items. The boxes were full of toothbrushes, toothpaste, pain medication, Buddy Bars, bodywash, soap, shampoo, creamrinse, etc., etc.

I still have a good year's supply of toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, razors, tampons, cleaning products, etc. for myself and I have only been CVSing since June 2008. I cannot imagine what I will have after an entire year.

My plans are to make giftbags/baskets for birthdays, Mother's Day, Christmas 2009, etc. and to donate to the women's shelter throughout the year since I know it was greatly appreciated.

CVSing has been so much fun for me and also it has been gratifying to help out others with my overage.

I just got back from CVS and had an interesting time with the Excedrin.
I was going to get 2 of the 100 tablet boxes (they had a bonus 24 tablet on top) and were $10.29 each. I had my $20 easily enough and after getting everything else I needed I went to the checkout. She had rung up half of my stuff and I noticed the Excedrine was ringing up $8.99 instead of $10.29. I told her to void everything- that I had to go refigure my $20. I went back and kept the one 100/24 and got a box for $4.79 and one for $7.49. I had 2 man. coupons for $2 each and a CRT for $3 off on the Excedrine. The 100/24 box had a sticker on it saying $8.99 your cost and $3 ECB starting 1/4- 2/14 so I figured the sale and the ECB wouldnt be good until then.
After ringing everything up I noticed my ECB was only for $3. I went back to the register and girl couldnt figure it out. I told her I was supposed to get $10. She tried putting it in herself and said it wouldnt take it:confused3
She tried for a second time and it went through, thankfully. I asked her if she wanted the $3 ECB back and she said "no, keep it- it printed it out for you".
So after all that I got all the Excedrine basically free with the $7 in man. coupons and the extra $3 ECB.:cool1:

Thank you but I'm looking for the Colgate coupon you guys were discussing.

Anyone have a link to it?

Thank you!

Wanted to post a few Rite Aid deals that I did as well:

Covergirl is B1G1 Free this week. If you have any of the Buy a Foundation get a free face product it is a great week to use up those coupons as they expire 12/31. Both products will be free!

Orajel mouth rinse is free after SCR this week.

Axe shampoo or conditioner is .99 after SCR. I didn't do this deal but if you use the product, a good price. I also didn't have any coupons for it.

Oral-B toothbrushes are .49 after SCR and using a $1 mfg. coupon.

I tried this at RA yesterday The first store said I couldn't use a BOGO c/o with a BOGO sale I told her she was wrong and I would call Corporate and they would tel her so ! The second one I tried said I couldn't use it as it said Foundation and face product !! I had a compact powder which I would term foundation and an eyeliner and that sure goes on your face . Should I call corporate ,try another RA or what !!

I think the eyeliner is considered "eye" and not "face". Lipstick is "lip" and nailpolish is "nail" and powder, concealer, blush is "face".

I think the compact powder would be the "face product" and not the foundation. That is, unless it was one of those cream foundation things.

Rats ! We don't use foundation !!

Has anyone had any problem using the $3 off $15 printable version from the Penn. newspaper?

Go to some young guy at the register. They don't seem to know foundation from blush, etc. These categories are very much YMMV even though they are listed separately on the various makeup websites.

Too funny! - there are some real nuts that shop there and I don't know why the management lets them continue. They have a bunch of Extra Care Cards and will buy out every last sale item in one transaction after another. There's a guy who has about 30 cards and he hits every store in the area. For those people, it's more like tens of thousands of dollars, if not more. I don't know what they do with the stuff, sure hope it's not piled up in their homes!

There is a guy here that comes in on Monday mornings and wipes out everything on the shelves. The manager is sure he is selling at a flea market but says there is nothing she can do about it.

Uh oh! I hadn't heard that Rite Aid was in that much trouble.

Man oh man I did not know Rite Aid was in trouble either. The one I prefer is brand new but they do not have a lot of business. The one with a lot of business is older, more crowded, and messier. The new one I like better

I still have several gift cards and gift certificates from the gift of savings or something like that.

My CVS puts these big "This product was intended for sale at CVS" stickers on EVERYTHING. They are about 2x2 in size. They said they had to do this because people were clearing the shelves and then reselling them at flea markets, etc.

It makes it really hard for me to gift things away in gift baskets, etc. because everything looks so bad with the huge stickers on them.
