CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 12/28-1/3

(looks like I'm talking to myself today!)

I just got home, the $3/15 coupon scans and no one questioned it.

I bought Gas-X thin strips in 2 different transactions, they raised the price to $5.69 here (also used four mfgs.). There is a $1.50 printable here: http://www.gasx.com/ I keep these in my purse for 2 of my kids who seems to get stomach aches whenever we leave the house - they're just Simethicone, so really safe.

There was a Maalox liquid for $4.99 and another for $5.29 if anyone uses it - would work out to be a better deal if you had the $2 coupons:

$14.97 Maalox at $4.99 x's 3
5.29 Maalox
-8.00 Four mfg. coupons.
-3.00/$15 CVS coupon
$9.26 (earn $10 ECB)
(or split into 2 transactions with the $3/15 for a better deal)

I also got the CVS Brand bleach toilet tablets, they're $2.29/$1.15 for the BOGO50% sale. Christmas clearance was still only 50% at CVS, but was 75% at Walgreens today.

I'll probably go back for the Intuition razor and Pantene:

$8.99 Intuition
7.00 2 Pantene
-2.00 Intuition/Quaatro mfg.
-3.00 Pantene mfg.
-3.00/$15 CVS coupon
$7.99 (earn $7 ECB)

If anyone wants to PM me your email address, I'll send you a 1-page .pdf of the $3/15 coupon that expires on 1-9-09. If you print in "portrait," it cuts off the lady so less ink is used. The bar code is very clear. If stores want to know where this coupon came from, it's from the 12-26-08 online version of Bucks County (PA) Courier Times
Crap

...I get the courier...how did I miss that?!?!?!

Has anyone bought something that they've had to return?

Like..>I got my dd the kodak camera with the black friday deals. It won't turn on. I wonder if they will exchange it.

This is the info. on it: http://www.pgeverydaysolutions.com/pgeds/en_US/jsp/EDS_Page.jsp?pageID=Year-of-Savings and this is the form: http://www.pgeverydaysolutions.com/pgeds/en_US/jsp/rebate/PG_YearOfSavings_RebateForm.pdf

It says "receipt" but I think you can use several receipts - not like the Kellogg's rebate where they specifically said all on one receipt.

THANKS for the info!

I have been OUT of CVS for months and months now. I desperately needed shampoo for my girls. Lol. Still had bottles of conditioner left though. :confused3 They have LONG hair and go through the stuff like water.

Anyway, after CVSing, I refuse to may full price for shampoo! :scared1:

I went in today and bought 5 bottles of Pantene Shampoo and 1 bottle of Conditioner.

$7/2 x 6 bottles = $21.00
-$3 coupon off 2 Pantenes
-$3 coupon off 2 Pantenes
-$3 coupon off 2 Pantenes
-$4 off $20 (expires 12/31/08)

$1.42 tax
$9.42 total

$6 ECBs back

So, I can buy MORE Pantene (I have a few more coupons) and maybe some Charmin toilet paper and get to $50 easily.

The Nature's Bounty vitamins or supplements are B1G1 free + $3 ecb's(limit 1) this week. If you go to this website and register for their Nature's Bounty Healthy Rewards program(free), you can print a $2 off Any Nature's Bounty product coupon. I have been able to print the coupon 12 times. I don't know what the limit is because I stopped at 12. This probably won't be a moneymaker because the vitamins can be pretty expensive. But, if you are buying them anyway, this is a great deal! And you should be able to use 2 coupons, 1 for the purchased item and 1 for the free one.

Now I know the sale is bad this week when you're not going out!

Crap

I was going to ask when I saw your city/state when I emailed the coupon - I think it was in the sports section, so might've been easy to miss.

Has anyone bought something that they've had to return?

Like..>I got my dd the kodak camera with the black friday deals. It won't turn on. I wonder if they will exchange it.

They are usually good about it and an exchange would be no problem at all where I live.

I could not find an intuition coupon anywhere. Do they have one online that you know of? I'm bummed because I would have done this transaction, but without the coupon I won't get most of it back in ECBs. :sad1:

I want to find out how much the vitamins are because I do need some, and hoping it won't be too much OOP.

Guess I'll be going to CVS tomorrow for a little shopping and research. LOL

Most of my ECBs are good until 1/20, so I'm waiting to use them for some of the better January deals coming up.

Oh, and I want to research the Olay deal so that I can maybe get that $15 deal and also go toward the P&G deal. But if I have to send in an original receipt for both, don't think it'll work.

Sorry, I don't know of any online :(

The Schick coupons I got were in the 12-7-08 Smart Source. There were 3 in a row, the first was for a Quattro, Titanium Trimmer or Quattro Titanium Razor or Refill, the second was for Schick Quattro for Women, or Intuition Plus Razor or Refill and the third said Schick, Any Disposable Razor. They were each $2 off.

okay so I have been reading and researching this stuff day day. I finally went to CVS to get my card and my deals. I am SOOO confused. This is the hardest brain game I have ever played.

so the 2% back on every purchase comes back in coupons on the bottom for your receipt ... if you spend enough?

The deals are really only deals when you also have mfg coupons or other coupons to go with them...right?

what is 15/3 mean?

i know you guys get asked these questions every week... so I understand if you don't reply... just don't flame me.

Thanks!

I believe the deal is that you get the Extra Care Bucks (ECB's) back quarterly. I'm not sure if there is a minimum amount of ECB's you need to earn in order for them to print.

The deals are really only deals when you also have mfg coupons or other coupons to go with them...right?

CVS frequently has items that are free after ECB's. Meaning you spend say $7.99 for something, and then get an ECB for $7.99 to use on just about anything else in the store, so basically you're using that initial $7.99 you paid out of pocket (OOP) for the original item and then for something else as well. Essentially you get to "reuse" the 7.99 you paid out to buy somethine else. If you're lucky you'll be able to "roll" your ECB's, by purchasing items that also earn you ECB's (which requires you to spend little money OOP).

Using coupons, either manufacturer's, internet or CVS, will definitely cause you to get better deals. Sometimes you'll luck out and get a moneymaker (for example when an item is free after ECB's and you have a $2 coupon for it, you save the $2 you would have had to pay out, and still earn the ECB's)

what is 15/3 mean?

$3/$15, $4/$20, $5/$25, etc all refer to coupons that CVS puts out either online or printed at the bottom of your reciept) that save you a dollar amount off of your total bill. For example, if you had the 3/15, to get the best deal you would try to buy items that get you just barely over $15 (the minimum to use the Q) and then you'd get $3 off that purchase, plus any other Q's you might have. It used to be that you could "stack" these Q's if they were available (by purchasing $25 in merchandise, then using the 5/25, 4/20,and 3/15 (if they were all available) for example, to save $12 off your original $25 purchase before any other Q's, but they've recently changed the policy to allow you to only use one $/$$ Q per purchase). In fact my CVS has taken it a step further and will only allow me to use one $/$$ per card, per trip (before I could split up my purchases into 2 or 3 seperate orders totalling around $15 each and use the 3/15 Q for each transaction).

i know you guys get asked these questions every week... so I understand if you don't reply... just don't flame me.

Thanks!

I hope I've at least explained things a little more (regular posters-please correct me if I'm wrong). It's addicting once you get in to it!

Nobody would ever flame anyone on a CVS thread here - seriously - this is the nicest group on the internet :yay: Ask any questions and someone will answer.

With CVS, you get 2% back of what you spend out-of-pocket each quarter. It's in the form of an ECB and it goes in $25 increments (50 cents each time you hit $25 in spending). Your card has to be scanned each time and your receipt keeps a running total of your "quarterly spending." It really doesn't add up to much if you shop the way most of us do because we try to never spend much out of pocket. The 2% excludes purchases of: alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, prescriptions, and special order Home Health Care items, including footwear.

You also get $1 in the quarterly ECB for every 2 prescriptions you fill (excludes pharmacy items paid for in whole or in part by state and/or federal health care programs and prescriptions purchased in-store in NJ and NY, and controlled substances in Louisiana).

The deals are deals when something is either free-after-ECB or free-after-ECB-and-coupon(s). This isn't the best week to show deals, but what most of us do is buy all the things that are free-after-ECB or free-after-ECB-and-coupon(s) and we pay for them with ECBs so that we don't spend much actual money - mostly only tax. If something is advertised as free-after-ECB and you use a mfg. and/or CVS coupon on it too, that's profit in ECBs, so sometimes you make CVS-spending-money (ECBs) on deals (this can allow you to buy things that don't earn ECBs such as milk).

There is a $3 off $15 purchase coupon available. If you PM me your address, I'll email you a 1-page .pdf of it. There's a direct link to the newspaper it was in on iheartcvs.com, but it's many pages long and a little difficult to print. This coupon comes off the top of a $15 purchase and then you can use other coupons and ECBs to pay too. It's a boost to the deals, especially on a week like this week where not much is advertised as free-after-ECB.

I know it sounds confusing, but it gets a lot easier after you've shopped at CVS a few times.

This is an example of what someone might buy this week (if they had the mfg. coupons):

$5.98 Two Colgate Total (limit of 2)
-3.00 Two $1.50 Colgate mfg. coupons
$2.98 (earn $4 ECB, $2 for each)

This is considered a profit transaction because typically someone who "does CVS" would use ECBs to pay, and end up earning more ECBs than they spent.

thank you... and was I right in saying the 2% back is on the bottom?

That's right - just saw you live by me! What store did you go to? I go to Woodbury most often (although they are often out of stock because of some guy who cleans them out every Sunday morning, but they are very nice there). I also go to the store in Mahtomedi/White Bear, off Century. I used to go to the one on White Bear Ave. in Maplewood, but I don't like one of the asst. mgrs. there so now I only go if I have to.

Just in case anyone had any doubts - LanaJae ROCKS! :)

Thanks for the coupon. :cool1: We are driving to SC tomorrow but there are several CVS stores near my parents house so I will be shopping this week!

WALGREENS ALERT!!

The Robitussin and Dimetapp are on sale for $4 and then you get back Register Rewards (kind of like their ECB). You are supposed to get $10 back when you spend $20 (so you need to buy 5), but it is printing a $10 and 2 $5. So you spend $20 and get $20 back! Plus you make a profit if you use coupons Coupons were in 9/21, 11/2, and 12/14 Red Plum inserts. Plus you can print a $2 off from Robitussin website and a $2 from the Dimetapp site.

Hurry, they may fix this or the stores may run out.

Maggie
