Cute ways to ask someone to a dance?

I found what I thought were a couple cute ideas on Pinterest:

A note attached to a bottled soda or pack of soda: "I'd be soda-lighted if you'd go to ___ with me."

A note attached to a can of Arizona iced tea: "You're a cu-tea, would you go to ____ with me?" or "Be a swee-tea and go to ____ with me."

I sent those ideas to DD but they didn't get the best reception, so keep your ideas coming!

Ouch! He didn't think that through, did he? I'm glad your DD got a legitimate prom invite.

I know the kids--or more specifically, the girls--are driving this but it seems so over-the-top. I mean, its sweet and all, but what happens if they go to all this enormous public effort only to hear "No"? What's wrong with politely asking for a date in a non-public, face-saving way?

No wonder guys feel so much pressure to make the "right" marriage proposal. They keep having to up the ante starting from 6th grade.

That's the best part of things like this. There are a handful of videos floating around the internet where a big elaborate public proposal was turned down.

Also I like it when the idiots who propose via stadium scoreboards get humiliated with a NO. Schadenfreude at its finest. :rotfl2:

I'm so glad that this didn't exist when I was in high school. Prom was seniors only, including dates, so it meant that there were a lot of "arranged" pairings since tickets were sole ONLY in pairs. Tex Jr.'s high school didn't do dances of any kind (CoC) so he didn't have the problem either. They just had a senior's banquet, no dates but formal attire required.

DS bought a vinyl album for a girl and attached a note that said,"It would rock if you'd go to Winter Formal with me." It was a used record, so he listened to the whole thing before taking it to her house! And that took so long that he didn't have time to shower!

A girl dressed up as a bloody zombie and showed up at our house. She had a sign that said, "I came back from the dead to ask you to Snowball." It was the night of the season premier of the Walking Dead.

This year DS's girlfriend made big letters spelling Snowball? And attached them to the 9 sousaphones in the marching band. DS plays sousaphone, and they were lined up on the sidelines.

I often see things written on car windows and lockers....usually it's just "Prom?"

a girl did something clever with a cell phone, I think she got ahold of the boys phone, changed her name in the contacts to "Will you go to Snowball with me?" And called the boy.

My DS's marching band performed at the MK during Spring Break his Jr. year. His promposal to his date was a set of Mickey Ears with Prom? embroidered on them. He pulled it out during Wishes. - She said yes.

His Sr. year wasn't as exciting as he put a picture from Jr. Prom in her locker with a note asking if she wanted to do it again.
