During my last trip (3 weeks ago at BWV), I noticed numerous people smoking on thier balconies. I also noticed smokers at BCV smoking while sitting in the lounge chairs at SAB and at many entrances to the buildings at both locations (BCV/BWV), none of which are designated smoking areas. This is contrary to my previous 2 trips last year where I dont recall seeing a single person violating the smoking policies.

I was just curious if others have noticed the same or not at the DVC resorts?

I don't know why.....but, smoking cannot be discussed on the DIS. Expect this thread to be closed....fast.

Maybe a moderator can explain why? If it involved an experience at WDW why is it not allowed?

I am not trying to be difficult. just curious:)

Moderators feel free to move or kill the thread as it was just an observation on my part (from noticing at 2 dvc resorts) and was curious if others were seeing the same...

We had someone smoking on their balcony and it came into our room. I called the front desk and they fixed the problem right away. I do't know what they did, but we never smelled it again.

Yes we have noticed this at well, but mostly in the parks. Even walked behind one family of 4 smoking as they walked by Mouse Gear at Epcot and right past a couple of Disney employees. Nothing was said.

The no smoking policy is a resort wide policy, not a DVC policy. Because smoking/no smoking discussions bring out passionate opinions from both sides, the DIS limits smoking discussions to one thread in the Resorts Forum. Anyone who wants to discuss smoking /non-smoking may do so on this Resorts Forum thread:

The Smoking DSA's @ Resorts Info Thread
