Curious about power, water, and sewer

So we recently went to Castaway Cay for the first time. Had a blast. Stayed on the island til the very end. My boys were the last two on Pelican Plunge before heading back to the ship. While they were playing, I was chatting with the line attendant about what they do on the island and if their "shift" is similar to the cruise folks where it's like a 6 month contract and then 6 weeks off or so. They said it was and that some live on the island and others live on the island that next to Castaway Cay and they ferry back and forth.

While chatting with her, I got to thinking how does the island provide drinking water, power, and sewer management? I know this isn't your normal chat topic on a Disney forum but just curious. Does anybody know how Castaway Cay provides these basic items? Is the island nuclear powered? Do they process the sewer or just dump it into the ocean? Do they have a desalination plant? If they have these, where is it located? I assume it's on the other island because Castaway Cay didn't seem to have any building that seem like they would be for such things.

Castaway Cay has diesel generators on the island, they run off a mixture of diesel and used cooking oil from the ships. The island has its own desalinization and waste treatment plants. There is no nuclear plant hidden on the island, that is Michael Eisner's private island fortress you are thinking of

As with all things Disney, these are carefully hidden out of view of the visitors so as not to ruin the deserted island feel.

here's a link to google maps at Castaway Cay

I am guessing that the "green square" that east of the runway is part of the water treatment plant. Near there is a splotch that's "something" - but doesn't appear to be buildings.

East of Cookies and up to the runway - might be where the "Castaways" live and there rest of the infrastructure facilities are. The rest of the island does not show much.

the green square is just an open water wetland area - you can see it from the bike trail when biking/running. The water treatment is in the 3 towers next to the orange/brown roofed building.

There also isn't a TON of power requirements for the number of guests. Some POS stations in the gift shops and the bars. Don't remember what their cooking/reheating requirements are either. Water and sewage are likely the biggest resource uses, unless more people are going in the ocean instead of the bathroom than I am guessing.

If you google Castaway Cay, go to maps then satellite view, zoom in on Cookies. Right behind Cookies, is the staff living areas. You can see the treatment plant, the gensets, and everything else back there.
