To weigh in on this one, I don't see anything wrong with eating a child's portion. We all waste too much food, especially on vacation. I think it is perfectly acceptable to order small and not waste!

Hey everyone, remember Connie? We met kinda a couple times down there. She's married, or at least was, to Randy, a really strange dude from South Dakota who tried to freak me out one time when he approached me at a smoking section behind the Dawa Bar at AK.
Yeah, this freaky looking, bearded, deranged guy with eyes that glanced everywhich way with his hands clenching and unclenching constantly walked straight up to me and said. "I know You!"

And right about then, I was wishing that I knew security the way he said it, so sincere and with intensity.
I just said that Na,I just look like the guy you know, but really, it's not me.

"NOPE!"
"I KNOW YOU!"

He reapeated.
Ok, " Oh yeah, hey, it IS you! Great to see you again, now , sorry to say, have to get running now, nice to see you again, but my therapist and my probation officer said two hours in the open is enough, so make sure to ,,,,,"

ANd that's how I met Randy at Disney. Then his wife Connie on the freeze your butt off trip in the beginning of December of '10, too.

Hey, Cherie is back as well. This usually means that she is about to post a new chapter on her own report after almost a month. Yeah Winkers , after all these years, I've caught your act! But that's fine, I've been waiting for a Europe Disney report like I told you for a while now,,,,, so GET CRACKING!

I do want you to know, that this report is not far from being finished, it will be kaput before we leave for the next trip in less than a month, but it's really doubtfull there will be a report on the next trip.

Those of you that are savvy, can tell that I'm grasping at straws right now for each chapter to make them funny or interesting, now that the danger has been exposed and passed. And yeah, I can't believe that I did this many reports mainly writing,,, and re-writing about the same thing, and it get's tough, I need a break.
I have done kind of like I said I would and speed things up this report, but still, the well is empty, my brain is empty as well. (hey, that's kind of cool, empty well, brain emtpy as well) See what I mean? It's these things that excite me now!
Anyway, unless something really bizarro happens again, and we really never know, do we, this will pretty much be it for me for awhile.

We do definately plan to take a trip out west next October to the first edition of Disney, so that I'd more than likely like to do a report on.
Ok,,, yeah, for SURE I'd like to do a report on. It will probably be like the bunnies report, and include Universal as well.

I'd also like to include Magic Mountain in there too, another new park, but we'll see.
Yes, I get almost giddy thinking about new things to be ]

First - OK Nebo, at first I was thinking NOOOOO say it isn't so, no more Nebo trip reports but THEN I thought what are the odds that Nebo can go to WDW and have nothing happen??? I'm thinking somewhere in the same neighborhood of me getting bitten by a shark while sitting on my front porch just outside of San Antonio, TX.

Second - My Aunt and Uncle live in Southern CA and my folks took my sister and I there several times when we were kids in the 60s. I still remember Magic Mountain though I wonder who named it and what they were smoking at the time.....

1. Brain empty. No need to say it, we've all known it for years. Odd though, how we keep coming back...

2. I'm not sure exactly how to say this. Let's just say that as much as I enjoy your reports... I sincerely hope you don't have to write another one. If you do decide to write one out of sheer boredom, excitement, mishaps or whatever, I'll be there. But honestly, you really do deserve a simple, relaxing, non-emergency filled vacation for once.

Just do us all a favor and let us know if/when you write the next one.


Oh, yeah, one more thing. You have my permission to post the result of the pool. Don't ask me to figure out who came closest though.

Nebo, you know I'm here. I'm like kudzu in the South, you just can't get rid of me! And yeah, your accent, or lack thereof, is about as thin as molasses.

I was looking forward to posting this afternoon, that is until I read your next post, and now I just have to say I'm sad. I get that the TRs are a ton of work, but Nebo, I just really enjoy reading your observations on the people and the experiences. I mean in what other TR is an itchy behind going to be mentioned? It's the moments with people that make your TRs great, not telling me you and Smidgy waited in line to ride BTMRR. You keep this limitless amount of trivia in your head and sprinkle it throughout your chapters, making the way for plenty of engaged and varied commentary.

I was looking forward to having something to do during the late night feedings, like reading about your Christmas season trip. Gosh, there's just so much that you still can say, so please don't sell yourself short. I wonder if the weather will be kind to you and Smidgy in November? I wonder about the Universal part, the Christmas decorations you see, where in the heck the black cat is in the Osbourne lights, how badly the guy smelled who stood beside you and what the smell reminded you of.

You know, all the really important stuff!

Not having a Nebo TR in play would be like losing contact with well loved family members......it would make me so sad.

Okay, that's my best pitch I think, at least for now. But maybe I will think of something else.

Now I need to get to doing what warms your heart the most......posting several times in a row!!!

So Nebo, before I go backwards to catch up on what I have missed, I have to catch you up. Tomorrow is my final two week appointment before I move to weekly visits at the doctor. I will get to experience the joy of the strep test for the third time, and nope this strep test doesn't involve checking the throat. Lucky me, what a way to start Halloween, with a not so pleasant trick!

Anyway, 37 weeks as of Thursday so it is definitely getting closer. The Buzz family will be picking out a few sleepers tonight in boy and girl genders from our "gently used" stuff to pack and take with us to the hospital.

It's hard to believe we almost have the new family member here!

Hi Jill! Count me in as having ordered off the kids menu. I will even go so far as to say I order kid's meals at least a few times every trip. As you said, they are better sized to an appropriate portion.

Order what ever you want to eat. Who is going to stop you from paying for something that you want.

The only time it should be an issue is when you are an adult on any of the dining plans.

If you are paying cash, you should be able to order anything you want. It is no different than purchasing a snack.

Mony, this is my understanding as well. I usually order kid's meals at counter service restaurants and if we do go to a table service, I will either share with DH(portion thing again) or order something that is a smaller sized adult entree.

We have ordered kid's meals many times at DL. For some items, that's the only way they sell it (like the peanut butter painter's palette). The CMs have never said anything about it, even at a sit-down restaurant. At Knott's Berry Farm, it was a different story. DD wanted the grilled cheese sandwich, and it was only on the kids' menu. DD was probably 17 at the time. The server was very rude about it. My DSis said she was willing to pay the adult price for the kid's meal, and the server still said no. DSis said our party of 6 would be leaving, and the manager came over and said, of course DD could order the sandwich. I can understand a restaurant not wanting to give you the kid's price, but when they have the food in the kitchen and won't sell it to you at any price, that seems a little silly.

OK Nebo. You're forcing me out of the shadowed corner again!!!

I can imagine that it is hard to try and be funny update after update. BUT, here's the thing. I like your trip reports because I like your style of writing. It's upfront, true with a few embellishments Nebo style, and allows me to be at WDW even if only through your words.

Your posts don't have to be full of wit and humor. Just sitting back and writing how your day went comes so naturally for you. I remember some of your posts from way back that had subtle humor that just cracked me up! (Hmm Nebo and subtle in the same sentence!) Just sit back and write how you remember your day, and as always your TR will be just right!

You need to remember that this TR is harder than normal, because your trip was not normal. You and Smidgy were unable to tour the way you're used to. Everything was flipped around (including you) and even your dreams of time with your Grandson and Son not coming to life the way you had hoped. That in itself would throw you off your TR game.

So, don't let this go to your head - but I think you're terrific just for being Nebo, and so are your TR's. Please don't disappear - even if it's a few photo's and a short paragraph or two of that day's WDW experience, I will be here and will stay out of the corner to cheer you on.

Looking forward to reading your TR's for a long, long, time.

Okay, I'm torn...TRs are for sharing your experiences at Disney Parks, so if Nebo doesn't want to share anymore, I certainly don't want to push him.

However, Nebo, your TRs tend to tak on a life of their own...with TM's songs (available elsewhere, possibly, but really, who provides greater source material than Nebo?) and the back and forth and one-up-man-ship of you and Pkondz, Ponzie's Photoshop Phun, Buzz's individual responses to each thing in your posts. . .and so much more. This makes them more than TRs; they're afterwork drinks with buds at the bar/pub; Cocktails with the girls (this is for your lady readers, TM, Ponz and yourself look to that first one); football/soccer/baseball games where the real reason you're there is to socialize with people who have something in common with you and drink.

Your TRs are quite often more about the comments than the trip.

Anyway, whether you decide for more TRs or not, I hope you have many happy, SAFE, fun trips with your darling Smidgy to both coasts.

And...Happy Halloween, y'all.
