CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

OH MAN! Thanks for telling me, I'd have never figured that out. Phew! I feel like a dweeb for missing that one. Ok, mental note, be on my toes over here.:rolleyes2

Hey, Marita thought I was Smidgy the last time I did it, just covering my a ll bases.

Hey you can have the football, I will keep the baseball.

Cause I'm nice like that.:p

You haven't got the baseball yet, and now you're down one.

:"Agreed. He was doing so well, but now we have to take away his MAN ilow card":rotfl2:

I have to admit that I actually liked his first song , I think it was, Mandy, but by the time he came out with Copa Cabana, I wanted him dead.
In a nice way.

Hey Rozz, great post you done did there!

You're not going to ask me if I think you're sexy, are you Mike?

Ok, new chapter for tomorrow night, almost done with it, and we are getting down to the nitty gritty for this report, only a few chaps left.

KNow what? Heck with it, let's get this kitty on the road.
Warts and all incoming chapter coming up in a few minutes.

What if I don't want to get on the road? ;-)

Ok, NO Jimmy Cranky Corn lines this time, just some serious trip reporting, from Jimmy Olsen instead.
(who's Jimmy Olsen? I don't know, who cares.)

With the weather still a little bit threatening that Thursday night, it was stilll light out, but the Pop pools were just beginning to be re-opened, so with drinks in our REFILLABLE mugs, we wandered over to Art's Animation Resort.

But before we do that, I need clarification on two pictures.
I still don't think I have the am-pm part of the camera date correct, but when I showed these pictures to Smidgy, she said they were at Epcot. But the date says they were on Magic Kingdom day, so,, anybody want to try?

100_2063.jpg

100_2064.jpg

I was still hoping to get some night pictures over here.
Our first stop was trying to get into the pool area, where the bar is. Yes, please explain to me why they don't want ME to spend money at this bar? But one of the gates hadn't closed all the way, so we just walked right in.

The sky now had cleared remarkedly up, I coulld tell that sunset was farther away than I thought it was with the dark clouds gone, so we just strolled around the pool area for a bit finishing our drinks and I got another picture or two.

100_2065.jpg

100_2067.jpg

See the sky? How nice and clear and blue it is?

Ha!

We then went and looked around a bit more in the food court, and it's definately the most diverse of all the typical Disney food courts, but I think I like the ambiance inside the main building, it is REALLY very colorful, yes, even for Disney.
And while we were spending all of 15 minutes inside the main building, the people in charge of the lighting and props had gone to work again, removing the blue sky and replacing it with dark, gray clouds.

Again.
This is really getting annoying.

I wonder if they really do enforce at all intruders like us being there, we went and got a couple of seats at the bar.

Yeah, go ahead, throw us out now right before we order two ten dollar drinks, I dare Ya!

One other person was sitting there and the bartender looked like he was already on his drive home, we just might have postponed that right now, meaning, he's not all that thrilled to see us.

Kind of like how my foreman used to be when my buddy and coworker and I would go out for lunch on fridays for pizza and beer, and not come back until 3 hours later!

"Whoa, Kris, look at all these numbers and squiggles on the blueprint, wonder what they all mean?"
"I dont' know Nebo, why don't you try connecting them and see what happens?"

But this evening I didn't get the same bartender as the other day, Martin I think he was.

(Termite walks into a tavern and asks "Is the bartender here?")

We tried to make small talk with him, but all he wanted really was to make "gone" talk. Then he got his wish.

It was as if the sky was just waiting for us to cross the bridge and come over, but it really got dark out in a hurry, then the lightning started in the distance.

Once again, they are closing off the pool area, this means we have to drink up quickly our 10 dollar Mai Tais, (with tip) and get the heck out of Dodge. Normally, in a situation like this I would not let the cast members rush me out of here, but the sky was another story.

Again, nothing is working out right for me; C'mon, just one night, is that too much to ask? I also had something nagging in the back of my brain damaged head that I knew needed to be rethunked, but I could'nt put my finger on it.

It was drizzling again as we set off for home, but thankfully no big storms just yet, cuz no way was I going to attempt running.

Earlier, Todd and them came back from MK about an hour and a half after we did, and then took the Santa Fe over to Blizzard Beach. I can't believe that Jackson has been able to keep up this pace for so long.

Tomorrow, so far I am joining them again.
Need to hit Epcot for rope drop to either ride Soaring right away or get fastpasses, then get on over to the Studios to make sure we don't let Jackson miss Light's, Motors, Action, Jackson. Now, due to my lack of involvement most of this trip, i haven't really paid much attention to what days are for what. It turns out that THIS is exactly what was bugging my gray matter.

So, let's recap tonight, no, I didn't get to talk to Jackson about today, or yesterday for that matter.
No, I dind't get to sit with my wife and enjoy a cocktail by the outside bar. Yes, I did get rained on again.

I'm already thinking about the November trip,,, MAN, it had just
better be nice weather this time, and not frigid like that last
early December trip.

We briefly ran into Todd and Jackson on their way to the arcade, and about all we got was "See you at 8:15 tomorrow morning for Epcot.

Back in the room I think I might have been a tad sarcastic when I said, "Next time I'm looking forward to coming here with people I know, like complete strangers."
Hey, what can I say, it's been a bad week.

ANd I was planning on doing tomorrow pretty much just like today, nope, not hurting myself for nothing. That's what's
so great about staying on site, anyone can leave a group at anytime and still have a way home for all of you.

After the rain had let up, yes, it's dark out now for sure, but no way I have it in me to cross the bridge again and go back, besides, I'm starving. Even though I hadn't eaten before I threw up earlier, well I haven't still after that either, and EVERYTHING sounds good to me right now!

Well, Ok, maybe not brussels sprouts or spinach, but you get the idea.
or pork shanks.
or calimari or oysters.
And I've never been a duck, or lamb chops fan.
Why would anybody want to eat a gamey tasting duck when there's plenty of chickens walking around?
Yes, I know they aren't as sporting to hunt as ducks are,
but you at least don't need an expensive, well trained golden retriever or English setter to hunt with, a box turtle will do.
I am curious though to see what an ostrich egg looks like over easy in a frying pan.

Can you tell I haven't eaten yet tonight?

Ok, I want to try the mom's night out offerings at the Pop food court, but what my menu print out says it should be has been wrong all week. I was hoping for the fried chicken which Smidgy got but no, tonight it was the roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and green beans.
I don't know, I also don't eat green beans either, but Smidgy said to ask if they will skip the beans and give me more potatoes instead. About the only green vegetables I like are lettuce, (yes, iceberg) and peas, no, not the dark dark green ones, the early June peas, you know, the little ones, kahki colored.
Oh, does relish count? What is relish? I've never heard of somebody growing relish, and then walking around the neighborhood every september with baskets of it to give to neighbors like they do with those nasty tomato things.
I remember the time I was into sunflower seeds, and I grew my own crop of them.
It looked like that movie from the sixties, "Day of the Triffids", and we had to move. 8 feet tall they got in 3 months if they got a foot.

But back about my asking for the green bean shuffle switch;

Well, I did and they did, it worked out great.

She had tried one of the Mom's Night out meals once a couple of years ago, and said it wasn't much bigger than a Banquet frozen tv dinner, definately not worth ten bucks.

Well I am very happy to say that it's grown a lot in a couple of years, I could not even finish it! I asked for extra gravy and they even gave me a "side" extra cup of that too, and it all tasted just great. I would most definately
order it again. It reminded me of a great Thanksgiving dinner, with no one glaring at you for taking the best white meat breast slices. Oh, and pretty sure a roll and butter came with the dinner too! And nobody pressuring you to "At least TRY the pearl onions casserole dish I made with yams."

We ate outside the food court, which is dining "Al Fresco" which is better than dining "Al Bundy", or even Al Jolson, "You ain't tasted nothing yet, folks," and no, we weren't going to dine with "Say hello to my little friend" Al, mainly because it's about 48 degrees in there. I have no idea what she got for dinner, I know she's a big fan of the shrimp Lo Mein there, but I thought she had already gotten that this trip.

What was that Ponzi? Oh, think that's funny eh?
No, I'm also not dining Al Anon.

That night I slept "fair", headaches are still there but not too intense, but still looking forward to salvaging the last two days here.
Well, ok, day and a half.

But, remember that nagging thing?
Yeah, it nagged itself to where I could finally see it.

At about 4:15 in the morning, I was lying there wondering why I was awake, when the nickel, the penny and the quarter all dropped in.
Yeah, I'm surprised the noise didn't wake up Smidgy.

Tomorrow is Friday.
Since the beginning of time Friday at Epcot has always been EMH, NIGHTTIME!

But not this Friday. For some reason it was switched and it's Early Entry tomorrow, meaning the park opens at 8:00!

We aren't meeting them until 8:15, and that 's IF they are on time. After that brilliant handling of Early Entry today at MK, it's actually, really, undeniably, indubitably, unequivically going to be repeated tomorrow!

( Is anybody else hearing Munchkins talking right now?)

No, we weill NOT be able to joing the first wave of those riding Soarin', yes, we will have to get fastpasses for it, but they WONT" be soon enough,,,,, we also have resssies for Prime Time at 11"00 at the Studios, so that won't work either.

Yes, I'm sorry, but this is what happens when I don't take charge, and it's too late now to do anything about it.

I told Smidgy all this in the morning, she had even heard me say outloud in the middle of the night, "Oh Crap", when it dawned on me, and at a quarter to 8 she called them on the phone to tell them all this.

They hurried up a little, but we didn't get to Epcot until quarter to nine, or 45 minutes after early entry started!

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

AAARGH

The line for Soarin' was already 45 minutes, standby!
And I had a feeling it was even longer, so, for some reason I can't remember, we all went directly to see Gary Sinise, and when we got there, Smidgy once again went for the fastpasses waaaay down in the belly of the Land Pavillion while the rest of us went in to Mission : Spray.

I think I'm missing something here, not sure why she'd come over just to run all the way back tot he other side of the park again, hopefully she can explain this anomaly.

Before they went in to ride, I did get a couple more pics:

100_2068.jpg

Ok, half of a couple more pictures, I have a hard time counting that high.

By now I had a mean streak in me going, and since no way I could ride that now, I told them that only REAL men ride the orange version, if you ask for a green card, they will look down and frown on you being a wuss,,,,, and contact imigration, and that's what they did, they went orange.

At least this time Kim could join them since the capsule seats 4, but they all really liked it without any repercussions.

(hmm, looking at that ,,, does that mean they had "percussions", without a drummer, or could only do it once?)
I hate when my mind does that to me.

Diane still made it back before they got out, what a trooper, and she was a pooped trooper. A super duper pooped trooper.

Oh yeah, I know I have some pictures in here somewhere from today, hang on ;

Oh, I already posted them? See, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is drinking. It's what happens when I work on a chapter over multiple nights. I can't believe that in olden days I would sit down and pound out a chapter and immediately post it, warts and all.
Yeah, I still post them warts and all, but I don't do it immediately now.

We are now in killing time mode until the fasties for Soarin' are up, and they decided then to skip the Prime Time Ressie, which by now was the best choice they could have made.

Spaceship Earth was next, again, then we went to the Land Pavillion and rode Living With the Land, which went over like a lead balloon as my dad would say.

We still have 40 minutes to kill before the fp time, and I thought the Circle of Life movie would aptly fill that void, but they decided to eat at the Sunshine Seasons counters instead, which was fine by me.

Everybody took off for different counters except me and Smidgy, and I then did a very bad thing.

Really, I'm not sure I want to admit this here in a pubic forum, and if I think about it too much, I'll chicken out and not tell it.

Whoa, no, not pubic,,, it wasn't THAT bad a thing, I meant public forum.

Ok, ok, what I did was,,, well,,, um, you see I really wasn't all that hungry,
and well, um,,,, ok, ALLRIGHT, I'LL TALK!
I ordered off the children's menu!
I thought it might still be ok cuz I still have the mind of a child, 21 trips to Disney prove it, right?

That's right, I did, and I'm glad!

I think it was 4.95, the French Toast plate. They don't call
it a platter on the kids menu.
Here's what I remember it being, keywords being, "I" and "remember".
Ok, next to each item, I'll assign a number of assuridnance. HUH? What the heck is that word?
Ok, a "confidence" number, with 10 being the most confident on what I'm saying.

Two THICK pieces of French Toast, which is actually 4 halves of it, (9) two bacon slices (6), two sausage links, (7), that also were on the largeside, and a carton of milk (7) ( Idefinately had it, but not positive it came with the meal package) came with it too I think.

I'm not sure, but applesauce might have been there as well, (3) as well as grape jelly, (5) butter, (9) syrup,,,,(10) I still think I'm missing something.

No kidding, I STILL did not finish it either.

It was perfect for me when I'm at a park and don't want to worry repercus,,,,,,,, side effects.

It was also very good as well. The French Toast was pretty darn thick and heavy too, the bacon was just allright, sausagewas better than normal, but I keep thinking something else came with it, like regular toast, which doesn't make any sense. But I do know that there for sure was more on my plate than what was described overhead the counter, I didn't know I was even getting sausage or bacon with it.

We then got the best seats you can get on Soarin', row one, which means the highest and no feet in your view, center collumn. I've said before, and I know it makes no sense, but with row one the highest, you are also a little closer to the screen, and when you swoop down to the water parts, you feel even more like you are going to end up with wet feet.
Seating was left to right, me, Smidgy, Jackson, Todd, Kimmy.

Diane does NOT like doing row one, and it just figures that NOW she gets to sit next to Jackson.
The whole ride she was terrified; for herself, AND him.

Can't help you with the pictures - I can never find Waldo, or spot any of the differences so I certainly can't figure out which park a picture of some nice Disney flowers was taken in :confused3 I love Mission Space but have found that as I get, um, less young I can't handle it the way I used to. I can do the orange side once but if I try it a second time in the same day I'm in trouble. I don't vomit (thankfully) but my head continues to spin for quite a while after I'm off the ride. :crazy2:

A super duper pooped trooper.

Did anyone else sing this line when reading? I ain't too proud to admit I like Abba.

I will raise my hand and say I have ordered off the kids menu too....small portion and a good value.

Smidgy would be correct. Epcot.

Looks like the area right after the fountain headed to the World Showcase. There are some kiosks that sell T-Shirts, clip clops and such in this area. They change this area out for Food & Wine Festival.

The dead give away is the monorail track in the background. The only park the monorail runs through is Epcot. Unless there's a secret monorail I don't know about.

Did a little more research.

Here's a link showing the same area at Epcot. http://disneydose.com/phineas-and-ferb-made-out-of-plants-topiaries-added-to-epcot/#axzz2AN66rcoQ

There's the rub, I cant see that track in the little pic on P-bucket, but now, yep dere it is. Not sure how my order got mixed up in p bucket, but that's no surprise.

Did anyone else sing this line when reading? I ain't too proud to admit I like Abba.

Back in our boating days, I helped my buddy put in a stereo in his 24 foot Old wooden cabin cruiser,,, and I INSISTED that if I help him, he gets a tape player with WATTS,,, and lots of them,,, speakers are secondary. Well, after putting this puppy in there with 6 speakers,, it rocked allright. And I got to hear,, not long after, Smidgy too, The ABBA greatest hits tape for two summers in a row,,, and he made sure he used those WATTS.

My favorite part was when he missed a step one night, and turned off the main pier onto the small pier to get back in his boat, ONE STEP too soon.

KERPLUNK!

AT that precise moment when I heard the splash, (he was in the slip next to me), was ABBA singing on his/ OUR, new stereo sound system,,, " There was something in the air/ WATER, last night, Fernando.

ok, I'll do my best. tee hee

nebo actually had NO IDEA who phinneas and furb are!!! what kind of Grandpa is that?! gasp!

but they are situated at epcot, exactly where Tman said they are.

ok, the evening we strolled oer to AOA? our intention was to "sneak into the nomo pool area with our "loaded" mugs, and sit poolside for a while.

weather didn't allow it. we got a seat at a table by the splash area, but, soon the life guards were shushing us all away. well, we "shushed" our way towrads the pool bar, and, as nebo said, there were a couple people sitting there. so we joined them.

and he was right. I could see righ taway that they were hoping to go home early. as a bartender, I remember those nights well. dead night. . weather bad. hardly any tips , at least I'll gethome early tonight.. maybe I'll even beat the storm home... NOPE!!!! there's always that annoyinglast customer...

HEY!!!! glad I caught you!!! STILL OPEN??? OH OBOY!"" aren't you glad to SEE me? bet you thought you wouldn't have any business tonight, but here I am!! in my experience, they say : listen to my dumb jokes , and I "might" tip you a dollar, maybe two.

anyhow, we didn't make martin stay open any longer than he had to, cause there were other customers. turns out he was a very cute , young gay guy who used to work at wilderness lodge. ..... how do I know that? (nebo never gets this.. I do.. I have very good Gaydar) and I left him a very good tip. (nebo gets mad at my tipping. he is a good tipper, but sometimes those of us in the "biz" tend to overtip.. to make up for all the cheapstakes")

ok.. now I will backtrack.....

I didn't post about ANimal Kingdom. in a lot of ways it was a great day. we had a lot of fun... we weren't worried about the time. we just did whatever we wanted to.. kimmy had the magical "app".

normally nebo and I would have been planning out the "shows" because , since AK is such a short day anyway, and there are a few shows, you really have to plan.

and we have the extra added ADR at tusker house. now, I knwe this would have annoyed Nebo to no end, but.. he wasn't here so decided to just... GASP! let6 the kids decide what they wanted to do

well, besides doing the 2 big rides (the safari and expedition everst)twice and doing the stupid tusker house lunch, ,and waiitng in line for the stupid kali river rapids for 110 minutes. we did everything!! except for the bird show. ok not the trails..

I'm so far behind on the chatter, but I did catch your new chapter.

I'm so sorry (again) that you were having such a disappointing trip. It seems to me that Todd would have picked up on how badly you wanted to enjoy the trip with Jackson, or at the very least would have learned to listen to dear old dad's advice.

Your secret is safe with me, though I sincerely doubt that this will be your last foray into the children's menu now that you know how good a value it can be. :scratchin

somehow, I early on, convinced them to do the Lion king show.

that was a big mistake..... I guess I never realized how much of a musical that is.. now, nebo and I love musicals... and I guess we are a couple of softies. ....

NOTE: to ANYONE bringing newbies to Disney. :
whatever musicals, fireworks, illuminations, songs, parades, etc etc. bring you and your hubby to tears....

um they wont' get it..

now, normally steve and I are sipping on our sunny d's , listening to the pleasant notes of circle of life. trying to not let the other see the tears on our cheeks.

well. I guess they liked it.

normally , that would be the case. the problem here is that , in the USA, they think it is normal for fathers to only get to spend time with their children every other weekend.

since our son is divorced, he only gets to see his son every other weekend,, and a couple weeks in the summer. whoopee! oh, and a week in dec and a week in spring.. wow!

and we , as grandparents, get the shaft, also!

anyhow, my point here is that Todd was also trying to make as much time as possible with his SON , and was also allowing us, grandma and grandpa, into that "alloted" time.

Haven't read the last chapter yet, but...

We have Skippy... but only because it bought out Squirrel. For a while there We went from Squirrel PB to "Skippy the Squirrel" PB and finally just Skippy. We also have Kraft PB which is probably the best seller and until a couple of years ago, we also had Jif but it was a distant third to the other two.

So, your fave?

Oh, that's easy. Even though Kraft is #1 for sales... it sucks. Skippy. I never got to try Jif and it's not carried in Canada anymore.

It's either got brain eating amoebas in it, 10 foot gators or man eating sharks.
Wait, you left out the Box Jellyfish, one of my favorites! It kills 100 times more people every year than sharks do.

True. I swim corrected.
