Hey all,

So I've been desperately trying to get a CRT reservation for the 1 day we're at MK next month. We want one before rope-drop and finally tonight an 8:15 reservation popped up for 2 and I grabbed it. It's me, my wife and our 18-month-old daughter.

Now, I know technically we're 3 people and I always do the right thing and check for a time for 3 people first...but all that was available for weeks has been 9:30, which really doesn't fit our schedule at all.

Do you think this will be an issue? Has anyone ever tried to do this either at CRT or anywhere else?

I'm gonna keep checking for a reservation for 3 and if I can get one I'll cancel the ressie for 2.

I would keep trying to get the reservation changed to 3. Due to fire codes the restaurants can only hold so many people. They could possibly deny seating you if they are fully booked and you show up with more than your ADR is for.

I agree keep trying for the 3...

But, if you don't get, you could go ahead and try with the ADR for 2.

At other, non pre-pay, ADRs, they will OFTEN, but not ALWAYS allow you to increase your party size. Even when the restaurant is not taking ANY walk ups. For you, the prepay for DD is not an issue, as she is free anyway.

BUT, if they do not let you in with DD, you will not get your money back, so it would be a risk.

My GUESS is that they would not turn you away, ESPECIALLY because it is pre-pay.

I'm confused! The thread title says Crystal Palace and the rest says CRT (Cinderella's Royal Table).

Very different answers. If it's Crystal Palace then I would leave it, try and change to a table of 3 if you feel like it. It's a large restaurant and I haven't seen it fill for an early ADR.

CRT is a small restaurant with very limited seating. I doubt they will be able to seat a larger party, especially one that needs a larger table. It's not impossible but not a risk I would take with it being a paid ADR.

Are you planning to hold your toddler in your lap? Even if the fire code limits are not exceeded, they will be expecting to seat you at a 2 top table where there will not be room for a high chair. Going to a larger table may require you to wait longer to be seated and that may not work with your plan either.

Wow you're so right, I'm sorry! No clue why I said CRT. It is for CP.

You really need an ADR for 3. If you have an ADR for 2 you will get a table that only seats 2. They won't seat you at it if you have 3 people, even if one is a baby.

The Crystal Palace usually is fully booked, so the chances of being able to get a bigger table without notice are slim at best. If you don't and show up with 3 people for an ADR for 2 you need to be prepared to be turned away. Not a pleasant beginning to the day.

Sorry to be so negative, bit I don't think being turned away would be a pleasant experience. You can always try if you want to, but you really need to be prepared to hear "No".

The poster has an early ADR reservation. I have been for the breakfast 8:05 am reservation at least twice. They stagger the ADR's and it isn't even full at 9:00am when the first diners are leaving. I go in October and haven't seen CP fill to capacity for an early morning ADR.

I have travelled with my neighbour during Free Dining and I had booked all of our ADR's on the first day it was available. About 3 months or less out from our trip another person was comming along. I tried to get a larger table at places but for some there was no way. We were accomidated at Akershus (B), 'Ohana (B + D), Crystal Palace (D) and Tusker House (L).

Don't cancel if you can't get an ADR for 3. I'm sure a lot of people with children under 3 book without realizing that they need to include their infant or young child in the reservation. You may not get in exactly at the time you have your ADR, but I have no doubt that they will seat you. They check you in by the time you arrive and check in for your ADR, so if you stop for photos you are already behind a bunch of other people that may have a later ADR than you.

One more thing, check for tables of 4. Since it isn't a pre-pay meal or one with a cancelation fee. Most likely you would be seated at a table for 4 anyway.

Early CP dining is something we do each trip. We have an 8:10am ressie on Monday morning. Every time we have done it, it is packed.

Have checked for party of 4? sometimes you have options for party of 4 that are not available for party of 3 and since 3 take the same space as 4, I would book the party of 4 if you and call them to cancel one seat. I did this last fall for tusker house.

I honnestly don't believe that at 8:15 am, it would be an issue. It was half empty when we went last fall until almost 9am. You can always try to play dumb and say you never thought to book the baby because she is not a paying guest.
