Cryptic Harambe Nights passholder email

This is only going to be available for pass holders? That makes me so very sad because I would absolutely love this. The Lion King is my favorite animated film.

I hope at the very least the new merchandise will be available in the parks. Maybe a cd of the vocal arrangements and performances like they have for FotLK.

So, being at AK after hours while not so crowded, a show, an immersive street party with entertainment, food/ drinks/desserts for 3 hours...... How is that NOT worth $100?

My thoughts:
1. AP aside, I'm pleased that WDW is trying to reach out to the wealthy, older crowd. And by "pleased," I mean that they are understanding that not all of their patrons are 6 and interested in princesses.

2. I will pay almost anything for an excellent experience. Having said that, so far Epcot's after-hours hard ticket does not fit that bill for my upcoming June trip to Disney. If I had a different trip planned, I might have looked into it.

3. Harambe nights sounds like a great way to get people into AK in the evening. If I was staying at AKL, I'd seriously think about it. But if there is no opportunity to ride anything, like Kilimanjaro Safari, I'm not sure that wine and small plates and Lion King performances are going to get ME to do it.

To the PP though who asked about families wanting to go to this, see #1 above. I'm not sure that everything at WDW needs to be 100% appropriate for the 6 and under crowd. Clearly Pleasure Island fell by the wayside, but these type of events are giving adults something special to do in the evenings that don't involve local 20-something riff raff.

I think it sounds awesome. I'm going to try to convince a friend to come on a weekend trip with me this summer to attend this (assuming I can buy a second ticket for a non-passholder guest.)

This sounds outstanding to me. I wish that it was offered in a few weeks so we could go. Oh well maybe I can talk my DH into a weekend trip

At 32 with no kids I still enjoy watching them have their fun, but I also have an AP and a taste for food and wine type events that allow the "big kids" some more diverse experiences. It gives me something new to try. Same with the imagineers lunch, perhaps not the most thrilling or cost effective lunch for families but I am willing to pay for what I think is a great experience.

Side note; thrilled with the presumed menu for galactic breakfast. As I am older and appreciate the older Star Wars movies I think this too is a nod to the "big kids". We want good food and good experiences too right? Shrimp and grits and boba fett @ the table. That's my kind of fun, I'll pay to play!

Can't wait to get official details! Anyone going to try to book tomorrow since the "leaked " email that someone posted in this thread says May 1 can book? Keep us posted as to when booking
will become available and what the details are.

Just to clarify, is this event only open to Annual Passholders? It sounds amazing!! I do hope the experience lives up to the expectations based on the description. :goodvibes

According to my CM friend, it will be available to everyone and will be a separate "hard ticket" event. Kind of like "Night of Joy," NSSHP, MVMCP, etc

I have no problem with them offering something geared more towards adults than families. Lots of adults without kids vacation at Disney, and lots of adults with kids like an evening out without them once in a while.

As much as I love Animal Kingdom, this particular experience isn't grabbing me and pulling me in. I'm not sure why. It isn't the price. I overpay for stuff at Disney so often that I barely bat an eye at the prices anymore lol. Maybe I just need more specific details, or pictures, or something. Maybe it's the lack of rides. :scratchin

I think this sounds like an awesome event for a GNO type thing. I'm a mom in my (late! sob!) 30s, and this is exactly what my friends and I do when we go out for an evening. I guess they didn't want to offend anyone by specifically making it adults-only, but it certainly seems like that's the intention considering what it is. No rides, adult beverages, and exotic food. Not the most child-friendly offering. Personally, I think that's great.

According to what was posted by Veronica, this is aimed for high-end clients of Disney, not your average everyday park goer. It really sounds perfect for an audience like that. With no rides offered and apparently only very limited access to the park, I don't know how much appeal it will have for kids, unless they're huge Lion King fans.

Clearly there is ticket pricing for children, so to the poster who complained earlier about children at an event like this at Disney World, deal with it.

If they wanted it to be for adults then it would say 18 and over, like many Epcot and D23 events do.

I think I will be taking my family to this. It sounds amazing!

You would also think the after hours wind down at Epcot would not appeal to children, but so many people complained Disney had to change their policy after only a few days :confused3

I'm interested!!! Hope to hear more soon! Any
TA's confirm/ hear any details?

Confirm what? The details posted are it.

This has been in the works and surprisingly not leaked for many months. They started canceling people's dinner reservations a couple months back to accommodate this.

Is anyone going to try to book this one today? I think this sounds great!! I'm seriously thinking about booking it as we are staying at AKL and think this would be a great way to end our trip that Sat evening before we leave Sunday.

I'm very tempted to book it for the first night (7 June) - just waiting for it to be formally announced...

Cancelling what dinner reservations? Maybe I'm not understanding this then, because I thought this was after hours when normally the park has been closed, so why would anyone's dinner reservations be cancelled?

I just ordered tickets online on the Disneyworld site under special events and printed them up :) However the page I ordered tickets from it not showing up at the moment...guess I better call to see if my order went through :)

After checking, the tickets are showing up on my Disney Experience page :) Very excited to be able to end our trip with this one.
