Cruisin w/the Easter Bunny?

We have been buying new luggage, new clothes and all sorts of supplies for our Magical Easter Cruise. I have given the family lists to check and pack by.
Also, we called Shirley at The Perfect Gift http://www.theperfectgift.cc/ and placed our order for the kids.
Our ressie is posted at the Radisson

Have we forgotten anything?

Can anyone see my avator or is it just me?

Weather was nice here. Perfect over the weekend, which was good since I was camping with a group of 6th graders. Next weekend, which is supposed to be wet and cold, I will be camping again, this time with three different Girl Scout troops while we complete training the leaders to take the girls camping. There are plenty of "experienced" trainers so that it really is safe and fun. Like riding a bicycle with training wheels.

Husband held down the house while I was gone, yardwork compete! Wow!

Mother-in-law called from W. VA -- Snow
Talked to my Mom, -- Snow

I hope NO ONE brings snow or cold on the cruise
:)

We have been packed since the Presidents day snow storm....what better thing to do to take your mind off the snow and yes, it did snow here again last night!!!

We wil be on the April 19th cruise. This is our first DCL vacation. We are 2 adults and 3 children (7 year old twins and a four year old).

Does anyone know if they are having activities for Easter? Does anyone have suggestions? We are considering going to the Butterfly Farm on our own...does anyone have any suggestions on this?

We look foward to meeting some of you on board!

My 7 y/o DD and I will be on the Easter cruise. This is our second Disney Cruise and we can't wait. I'll have to look into helping the Easter Bunny with getting a basket at Perfect Gift. It's been such a loooooong winter here in the Northeast that I just felt like we had to flee this horrendous weather. We had an ice storm yesterday and are expecting more snow this week, so we're almost packed and ready to go. :earsgirl:

I can't wait to go now more than ever! We have been without power for 2 days and only have electricity now because we were able to borrow a relative's generator! We had a bad ice storm and there are tons of people without power in our area! And now they are estimating that by tomorrow we could have up to 9 inches of snow! Before the snow prediction, they were saying we would have our power by Wednesday but now...who knows! I can't wait to get in warmer weather with no snow or ice and LOTS of SUNSHINE!!! Anyone else having the weather blues???
By the way, it's been miserable not having access to the internet for 2 days! :(
Ann

Ashley24,

Too bad about the ice and snow....it is in our forecast for today....yuck! Also looking forward to the sand and sunshine....wil be looking for those green ribbons/stickers!

The snow is coming down hard right now...They canceled school again! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ann

We were already in school when it started....it is coming down fast and furious.......got at least 1-2" right now......boy you must be going to school until July!!! We are at the very end of June right now....who knows...we may get another day added tomorrow!! I have had enough!!!!

Nope! We are allowed 3 snow days and this is our third! Hopefully we won't miss any more! But a ton of people are still out of power...including us! Thanks goodness for the generator!
Ann

Gee, it sounds like you are having a terrible winter, too. Good thing you have a generator. I just checked the weather map and it looks like we're in for snow in a couple of hours here too. I placed an order for an Easter Basket for my DD with Shirley at Perfect Gift this a.m. to have delivered to our cabin on the Magic. She said the weather was "sweltering" in Port Canaveral. Somehow "sweltering" doesn't sound so bad right now. We're counting the hours, minutes and seconds to 4/19. :sunny:

Tedmom,
The Easter Basket idea sounds neat! Can I ask what is included in it? Maybe you could email me the price too! I have been tossing around the idea of doing the same with my two dd's but haven't commited to anything yet.
Ann

Well it finally stopped snowing here and now it is just raining...nothing but a bunch of slush and mush...even messier than just plain snow. We have had a total of 7 snow days so far....none built into the calender....all have to be made up...think our last day right now is 6/26 unless we have another day added...do ya think it could snow in May? Probobly this year, the way it has been going!!

I went through Shirley too....she said you name the price and she will do it...also sent some things down for her to include in the baskets...our bunny always brings bathing suits, sunglasses visors etc as we always try to be someplace WARM!

We finally got our power back on last night. We had been without since Friday at 8:45 AM. With the snow on the ground I can hardly wait for this vacation to get started.

Of course, this is Michigan, so I'm sure we'll be wearing shorts again by this weekend. :)

Well, you folks back East weren't alone with COLD weather. I was out doing First Time Camping with about 100 girls and adults up on Mt. Veeder (along side Napa Valley, near Oakville).

Saturday was damp, windy and chilly, only in the low 50s and it got down to about 35 degrees Saturday night.

Everyone survived the cold!

I came home and my husband reminded me that in less than two weeks I would have all the sun and warmth I could want.

I don't know, I think I'll still have the socks on till my toes thaw out!
:)

I sent an email to The Perfect Gift, is there a telephone number to use?

Do they sent it to the Ship or to your hotel?

We never did this before and are almost clueless.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and lessons learned!

We have freezing rain this morning and again, no school. Now we have to start making up days! We have not been in school since last Thursday. I still don't have power and the news is saying that some people won't get theirs back until the weekend so I am planning on going to my mom's house to do laundry today. Do you guys rewash your summer clothes before packing them or simply fluff them in the dryer? My dh says to just pack his clothes and let the fresh sea air fluff them! What a guy!
Ann

dcbrown,
You are the one who cruised last Easter, right? Can you remind us what DCL did special for Easter? Did they have an egg hunt? I was thinking of having a small hunt of my own in our cabin but not if there is one in the clubs or on the ship somewhere. Any other activities? I remember you said that the Alice in Wonderland bunny was there, right?
Ann

...posting your first camping experience in the Camping at FW forum. There is a thread there now where we're sharing our first camping experiences. Rather entertaining!:D

I don't remember an egg hunt....but I did check the navigator and there was a visit from the White Rabbit. I believe cast members around him gave out treats. We also had our character bfst that morning then went onto mass after that. The ship was decorated very beautifully as well. I hope that helps.

The snow has melted due to the terrential rains which are forcast to continue all week...yea...NOT!
