I am planning a 3 day cruise with my daughter in 2004. She is on a year round schedule at school and is off in April, August, and December. I know that August can be very humid, and I am not sure how my daughter would do with that. So do you have any suggestions?

Another consideration for August is the chance of running into a hurricane. Although the ship can be diverted to avoid the worst of the storm, it'll nevertheless affect your enjoyment of the trip, especially for one that cost as much as DCL.

I would suggest early to mid December for the least crowd (and best fare). The water temperature will be a bit chilly for some at that time, but can still be enjoyable. April is a good time to go. Just be sure to stay away from the Easter/spring break crowd. I think the water temperature should be a bit warmer than Dec.

:smooth:

Since it can be hit or miss at any time of the year, and since people's tastes can vary, I think the only solution is to do all three of those months and then decide after you have tried it! ;) Seriously, I would opt for December, based on my experiences with weather.

December is by far my favorite. The ship is less crowded and the christmas decorations are beautiful!

I think I would choose December too. I would love to see the ship all decorated and decked out for Christmas. As stated earlier, August is hurrican season. April would probably be a packed month because of all the spring breakers. It would cost more to go in April.
