Folks,
the Final Edition of The List and the Handy List are in your mailboxes. Check it out.
Gotta hurry now, it's 830pm and I have to pick Anja up at the hospital.

Eric,

I just got the Handy List. It's great. I just printed it out double-sided so I'm all ready to go.

Have a safe trip. See you soon.

Renee'

I *still* can't figure out what CI or CE means on the list!

Can someone fill me in?

Yes, the handy list is cool to see all the kids names and ages.

Thanks so much.

Ok, I'll see if I can help out here. I believe that CI stands for Cruisetoberfest I which was September 2001, and CE is for CruisEars which may have been Fall 2002. All the veterans can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that I'm at least close.

Well, I did our t-shirt transfers this afternoon. I'm happy with all of them except Emily's Cruisetoberfest II shirt. I think that I ironed it too long, so it's not as clear as the rest of them. It's not bad, just not as good as the others. I just may go out and get a new size 2T white tshirt and try again.

Oh, and to whoever asked, I'm also an avid scrapbooker. I even went to Creating Keepsakes magazines CKU (Creating Keepsakes University) when it was held this past June at WDW at the Coronado Springs. It was a blast. I will definitely be doing a cruise scrapbook when I get back from this cruise.

And finally, Hope, I would also love to get a logo magnet for my door!!!

Eric,

If you and your wife are still planning on day trips to local sites around Tampa, Jeff and I would still love to meet up with you. There is a great British pub not that far north of Ellenton, if you'd like to meet there one night..

Let me know

Jen

Eric - That reminds me, in the past, we talked about getting together with you and Anja while you were here in the St. Pete area. Let us know. I don't know if you are on the cell-phone list, but if you are, Chris's cell phone is on there and he always has it with him. We will be in Chicago from the 24th - 28th for my brother's wedding, but we will be back here the evening of the 28th until the cruise.

Also, those of you that are going to the MNSSHP on 10/10, have we decided on a mini-meet time and place? We can't wait to see a few of you before we meet again onboard the MAGIC!!!

/
One more thing, I know that a few of you are planning on spending some time at WDW after we leave the MAGIC. I just wanted to see who was going to be around. We'll be spending Saturday the 18th at Epcot's Food & Wine Festival, since it's the first day.

Hey,
that's great: We planned to go to Ellenton anyway to do some heavy shopping at the Outlet Mall ;) What about meeting Saturday the 27th of September in the evening. We could either meet at the Mall or you send me the adress of the Pub and we'll meet you there. BTW, there's no need to send directions - just the adress. We always take a car with GPS - This makes our marriage a lot safer :teeth: Please mail to ericbehr@aol.com
BTW, we can also go to an American place - That's one of the reasons to be in the USA, isn't it ;) At least for us - and no offense meant, Silentshot, my British Mate :p

Okay, We will make up a few more door logos, just in case. We don't want anyone to be left out!!

Hope

Yeah Amy,
we would like to meet you Chris and your 1.3 children ;)
We could meet anytime between the 29th and the 1st. We will depart for Orland in the wee hours of the second to be at The World quite early. Would you like to come over and meet us at the beach or shall we meet i.e. at the Tyrone SquareMall?
I assume that you will have to work, so it would be in the afternoon. Please mail to ericbehr@aol.com to let us fix everything.

Thanks for the mini list Eric.........printing it right now!!

OK Folks,
we gotta catch some Zs. I will train 22 of my coworkers the next two days in first aid. 5% of all employees in German companies have to be trained in first aid every two years, and as I'm the proud bearer of an instructor's license my company doesn't require outside help. Before and after the training I will do some overtime at my desk and in the afternoon Anja has a "Big Overhaul" :p at her hairdresser. I'll pick her up there, but I'll have the usual cut'n'polish job before we go: The older I get, the more polish and the less cut it is :( Less hair to comb, but more face to wash :jester:

Eric,

No offense to American food, but my husband won't pass up $3.25 pints of Guiness.. :)

We could meet anywhere, there's so much in eateries and to choose from..

However, Jeff will be driving Monorails the night of the 27th and I have a wedding to go to the night of the 28th. We could meet the night of the 26th. and if anyone else wants to join us, feel from to PM or email me. jen@tiggerfan.net

We could also meet up at Disney, there's even more to choose from up there :):D

wow lots going on logo's,

Brunch looks like a plan ;;;;

and we will be going to the world

on Saturday WHEN we get off the ship ALIKATT99

how r u getting there ????

DIS MEETS AND GREETS

OCT 10 (FRIDAY) Radisson Poolside Time 6 to ? hosted by Mary/RellingTwin and
Rosemary/Tulirose)

Any cruiser who is staying at the Radisson (or any other hotel/motel) near the port is welcome to join the DIS Meet and Greet. This will be held poolside at the Radisson from 6pm until..?VERY casual dress (please don’t feel you need to change from your travel clothes). The kids can swim while we chat. Light snacks (and maybe some wine?) will be served. Just inside the lobby is the hotel bar/restaurant for anyone wanting a beverage.
@GoofyNut will be there and will pass out nametags. RellingTwin (Mary) will also be passing out the lanyards to attach the nametag to.

OCT 11 (Saturday) Deck 10 Overlooking the Goofy Pool (dock side) 4:30 after the lifeboat drill
This is the one you do NOT want to miss! We will gather to wave goodbye to Port Canaveral! Wear you CRUISETOBERFEST II T-shirts, and bring your camera. This will probably be the only time there will be this many DIS’ers in the same place. 2 years ago some of us started a tradition of passing out small gift items. Many people have asked me about this so here’s the scoop! IF you would like to pass out small items feel free to. Several people in the passed have brought items from their home state. For example: Buckeyes from Ohio, potato pins from Idaho, state flag stickers from Alaska, postcards ect. Other items I’ve seen are pens/pencils, bubbles, small novelty toys for the kids (like those from Oriental Trading Company) . SMALL and INEXPENSIVE are the key words here. MOST IMPORTANT!!!! PLEASE do NOT feel as if you MUST do this. I only include this info because so many people have asked about it.
Once out of the port, the Early diners usually leave to get ready for dinner.

*Cost?
It's $20/person for 3 hours. Kids 10 years and under are FREE. Prepayment by check is required two months prior to excursion (August).

**UPDATE**Payment for this should have already been sent. If you have not pre-paid and wish to join us contact Hopkins (Tina)

*Place and time?
We are going to meet on Sunday, October 12th, 2003 at 1PM in front of the stairs to the Hilton Hotel Lobby. It's to the right of the red brick building (Custom House) as you leave the ship. The Magic usually docks in front of the Hilton Hotel. The hunt lasts from 1 PM to 4 PM. remember to wear your ScavengEar t-shirts designed by @GoofyNut.

NOTE: The location may be moved since we are a large group. They'll let us know the exact start location and check in time closer to the event.

*Electric Cart?
If one needs an electric cart, the scavenger hunt people can point you in the right direction to rent one. The two electric cart places they use are Key West Cruisers @ (305)294-4724 http://keywest.com/keywestcruisers/ on Truman Ave at Truman and Duval and Reef Mobile (formerly Randal J Scooters) @ (305) 296-0208 www.reefmobile.com on Greene Street (near Sloppy Joes Bar on Duval). The Reef Mobile Electric Carts are themed, but have changed management and are going to be themed according to "reefs", like shark, manatee, dolphin, baracouda or octopus in a reef theme instead of the polka-dotted one on the hunt website. Call these companies to make reservations if you require an electric cart. An electric cart isn't necessary to experience this tour.

*Sites?
Southernmost Point, Hemmingway’s House, Shipwreck, Cigar Place, Shrimp Dock and off the wall places you might not normally have known about. The normal Key West sites plus some interesting wacky ones, too. Learn about interesting facts and trivia of these landmarks and sites.

*Hunting for objects?
In addition to searching for the sites and answering the clues (all for points are counted at the end for prizes), there is an object named "PINKY". He is their mascot and if you find him, he is worth an extra 50 points. People in Key West know of Pinky the Flamingo. He's famous. As our award winning scavenger hunt is, too.

Since we are the ScavengEar hunt, our hunt has to have a pair of Mickey Ears, too. The back is sewn with the words "Pinky". At the end of the hunt, people gather at the "mystery location" for the awards ceremony where all the points are tallied and stories of our hunt are told.

That's it for now. They will be checking in on us to give our group more information, so they will be posting shortly and I will also. If more people want to join the group, just reply to this thread. If I missed someone, sorry. Just remind me, and I'll add you.
Tina

OCT 13 (MONDAY) 10:30am Palo BRUNCH!(THE DIS’ers TAKE OVER PALO)

This is a load of fun for everyone! The food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is SO relaxing! We have too many people to use the private room, so we will break up into smaller tables and ask to be seated in the same area.TwinAve (Ave’) took care of the arrangements last year and did such a wonderful job we are letting her do it again. If you want to join the brunch but are worried about getting Flounder reservations for that time, there are some options. 1st book and then cancel if you can’t get in Flounders;2nd Book and hire the teenage daughter of one of the Dis’ers to mind the child(ren) while you dine.
OR, book, then tie the children up and lock them in the cabin. (Be sure to put the do not disturb sign on the door!)
**UPDATE**Ave has e-mail or PM’ed everyone on the Brunch list. Any questions or changes please contact Ave TwinAve@aol.com

OCT 14 (TUESDAY)10:00am Captain Marvin’s Sting Ray Tour
This is the half-day tour of Stingray City and 2 other stops. This is a “book on your own” tour, but if you do, mention either the DIS Group or Cruisetoberfest when you book. Ruth at Captain Marvin’s has promised to try to keep our group together on the same boat. This tour comes highly recommended by many passed cruisers. The prices are less then DCL, and the boats have less people on board. The website is www.captainmarvins.com

T-SHIRTS!
Cathy (@GoofyNut) has been working on 2 logos for this year’s cruise. One is the CRUISETOBERFEST II logo; the other is for the Scavenger Hunt. Both logos will be e-mailed to everyone on Eric’s list. You will need to print these out on “iron on” transfer paper and iron them onto your own t-shirts.Yellow shirt for the Scavenger Hunt, white for the CRUISETOBERFEST II shirt.
**UPDATE**Everyone should have gotten the Logos by now. If you have not gotten them and want to make a shirt (or two) post a message for some help and someone will get a logo to you.

THE LIST
Eric has been working on the list of cruisers for almost a year! It includes names, ages, occupations, home town, stateroom number, early of late dinning, where you will be the night before the cruise, and any special occasion you might be celebrating on the cruise.
If you are already on the list, please check over your information and send corrections if needed. If you are NOT on the list and wish to be, e-mail Eric (Viking) with the information mentioned and you will be added at the next update. Please keep in mind that Eric and Anja will be leaving Germany for their vacation in the US 2 weeks BEFORE we sail. So send updates as soon as possible.
**UPDATE**The final draft of the list has been sent. Any additional information will be added by Mary (RellingTwin) e-mail info to Eric via his link on his posts, I will get the info an do amended list.

ADDITIONAL IDEAS FOR FUN!
The following ideas have been mentioned to me. They sound like a blast, but I am at my limit for planning things!J So if any of this sounds like something you would like to put together GO FOR IT!
“DRINK AROUND THE SHIP”…travel from club to club and visit all the watering holes aboard the Magic. This could be fun on an evening at sea, or on Grand Cayman night since we leave port early.

“MORNING WALK ON DECK 4” chat while you get you blood flowing!

“KIDS VS GROWN UPS BASKETBALL GAME” 2 kids for each adult!

That’s it gang! This is the last update of this info I will do. So, PRINT IT!!
Mary aka RellingTwin

Graff at the Southernmost Scaverger Hunt is still trying to secure a "specific" site at the Hilton Hotel. I'll e-mail everyone and post here once I know something more specific. I'm sure he will, too. We're getting close.

We are really 59 people!!!, Windermere is still up in the air though with her builder closing date. Last I heard. Where are you girl?

We are definitely interested in meeting with fellow cruisers at MNSSHP on Friday night. Someone had made a suggestion of either somewhere around Space Mountain (but I don't remember exactly where) or behind Cinderella's castle where they said something about Cinderella's coach being there for pictures. That area would seem pretty centrally located, so I would go with that area, but not recalling exactly where in that area was said and to try to avoid any crowding that might be there for coach pictures, let me propose right by the sword in the stone next to the merry go round. I also think 8 PM was the suggested time.

Does this work for folks???

Dave

Hope,

We could use 2 door logos (2 staterooms) if you are not out of them, Otherwise let me know and we will try to make something up for our doors.

Thanks much.

Dave - I think that the idea of behind Cinderella's castle is a good one. However, I do remember that last year, they had a storyteller at different times that was right in front of the sword in the stone. So, I wonder if that might get crowded. I do remember that the coach was set up behind the castle and then the line was set up leading away from the castle. What if we try to meet behind Cinderella's castle, near Tinkerbell's Treasures shop. From what I remember, that area wasn't too crowded with people. Then, if people want to get pictures of the coach, they can do that too. And, 8pm sounds good to me.
