Dan -- a call at 4am??? It's not boot camp as they get to sleep in til 5am or at least that's what DS says and he's actually enjoying it!! It's not true boot camp but a course for the reserves but I imagine the hours are similar.

Although DS doesn't seem overly distressed about the 5am wakeup he is distressed that they can't sleep in class (like he does in school). So my question is that if they call at 4am can you sleep through class???

Hi Everyone, Checking in from the lightning capital of the USA. Our office got hit today. It messed up the air conditioner and the computer system. Amazing how quickly a building warms up.
It took about 3 hours to get everything back up and running.
Viking, thanks for all your hard work. The page looks great! But what is this about bringing "mini" bottles? :jester:
Papa, have you caught your breath yet? Sounds like you needed roller skates instead of nursing shoes.
@GoofyNut, Thanks for doing the name tags. We wore ours everywhere last year, and they are now enshrined in a Disney photo album along with all our CruisEars photos. By the way, have we come up with a t-shirt color yet? Last I heard it was going to be bright yellow for the ScavengEar Hunt, but can't remember about the other one. Also I was thinking of wearing one of those change makers, you know, the kind the ice cream man used to wear, to the sail-away party.;)
Tammeb, I had to read your post about bikes twice. I kept thinking, where would she ride a bike on the ship? LOL
Got to run and pick up my son. Later, Ave'

Twinave,

I'm bringing packets for everyone. Something very Baltimore.

Tina :)

PS: That's all I'm saying.

HI Everyone,

As per last October cruise we are bringing the badge/ID holders to attach to the lanyards that will be handed out. These badge/ID holders are a little different in that they have both a zip lock pouch and a 2nd pouch that does not zip closed, so they will now hold twice as much stuff.

We also have a surprise coming with us for the children in our group, a little hint... this surprise really only looks good at night.

Bye, Bette & Kim

I had to work today:( ! I had to get my classroom ready for 16 2 year olds!! :Pinkbounc

Okay, someone give me ideas of what I can bring for the sail-away party.

I just told my DH how much spending $ we needed. I thought he was going to pass out!! Oh well, it is going to be a great trip!!

Hope everyone had a great day!

Mary Jo..........how much do you want to spend on a tie.......PM me if you want!! I am leaving at 5:30 AM Thursday and will be home sometime on Monday!

Hope:Pinkbounc :bounce:

GoofyNut:
:smooth: My name is Tiiigermom so how about Tiiigerdad for DH Richard. This board is new to me so I am learning but like the idea very:p much. I am with hopelea group but you can make our names different. What is the party and what do we need to do to help?

Marilyn

Marilyn....so glad to see you posting. It's sort of like having 50 pen pals:p BUT...watch out, it's addictive:eek: I've been on these boards AMOST everyday for 3 YEARS! (ok..I've got it bad)

To answer your question about the party, we are meeting after the life boat drill (about 5pm) on deck 10 overlooking the Goofy Pool on the dock side of the ship. In years past some people have brought small items to share with the other DIS cruisers. Last year a couple from Idaho brought "potato pins"! There were pencils, post cards, bubbles (to blow during the sail-a-way) and candy. I am bringing lanyards for everyone. This has an added bonus because if you see someone who has the same lanyard as you (and I'm willing to bet a conch cooler NOBODY else on the ship besides us will have lanyards like these) you'll know they are a DIS'er. Cathy is making really cool name tags to hang from the lanyards. BetteMom and daughter Kim are bringing ID holder for our lanyards. We will also have T-shirts with our "logo" on them.
So if you want to bring something, feel free, if not don't worry about it!

I think Viking is bringing a GOAT!LOL

Hope..check out this site www.orientaltrading.com
They have some cute/cheap items sold by the dozen!

I agree with Colleen...this is going to be a really fun bunch of people to sail with. I can feel the excitment growing day by day!
With so many people meeting before we sail, it truly will be like sailing with old friends!

Bette and KIm...I have to tell you my DH is STILL using the ID holder you gave out last year. He LOVES it because it is water proof, so whatever kind of construction he is doing (or even if he is fishing!LOL) his debt card/drivers lic. ect stay clean and dry!

I did some searching - I gotta get a life! - and this is what I found:

Jen-n-Greg - Posted on our thread the one and only time on 9/23/02. Last post on all of the Dis Boards was on 5/28. Definitely not a frequent poster in general.

Mo64rn - I think we can cross them off the list. Very frequent poster to the WONDER 4-day 10/12 cruise thread! LOL!

Okwmeister - Exactly as Sarah'sMom said. They are with us with their last posting being one on our thread 7/13.

Michelemouse - Very active poster, just not on our thread. Don't know when she posted to our thread but her last post on the DIS Boards in general was on 7/25.

Spectram - Posted on our thread one time only back on 12/16/02. Last posting in general was on 7/21 on a thread stating how they were cruising on 10/11. Friends with Michelemouse.

Videoman - Posted one time only on our thread on 2/13/03 and last post in general was in June. This family and the one they are traveling with are both from my ole' stomping grounds. I emailed them a while back and never received a response. I am not certain, but I believe Arlene may have emailed them also awhile back, also with a negative response. Arlene - correct me if I am wrong on this.

ReadyForDisney2003 - Frequent poster, just not on our thread. Hope had interaction with her and told her about our thread and R4D replied that she has checked us out but she can't keep up with thread.

Boardwalk4Me - Part of our Minnesota contigent. Last post was on 7/25 and they will be participating in the Minnesota meet - I think, maybe, the meet is actually going to be held at their home!

eeyorekjs7 - Posted on our thread more than once with the last time being back in June and last post in general being shortly after that. Not a very frequent poster to the boards.

Stephmarty - The search function became disabled and I have no info on this one.

So, in short, some people have lives, are busy, can't keep up with the thread and/or are intimidated by us. I can certainly understand the nonfrequent visitors to the DIS board not posting - It will be interesting to see if they respond to Viking's email.

As far as the frequent posters but not to our thread, well, I just can't understand why anyone would not want to jump in on what's happening here if only just to say hi or bump the thread occasionally like CWD does just to let us know they are out there. BTW - Great new photos on website, both of CWD, PADisneyFan and Tammeb - Nice to 'see' you all!

Rosemary looking forward to seeing you Saturday. I know that Rich is looking forward to getting out of town for a few days.

Cathy @C do not strain yourself girl. With Art and I in our biboveralls, we can figure to pick up enough spare money answering horticulture questions at the home depot to pay for our cruises. Mike

Mary Jo,
we got married at 815am!! We insisted on marrying Friday, the 13th and the 815-slot was the only one we were able to get. Our guests loved us for picking that time :p. BTW, it was 08/13/93, which means that our tenth anniversary is up in exactly two weeks.

Rich is getting out of town and Papa drops in - I'm shocked:eek:
Does Kathy know about this?;)

good morning guys,

first of all I really need to complain about these ELO's! I didn't get done with my homework until 11 last night and still have an article to read this AM. This has killed any thoughts of me going back to finish my degree!

I am also glad this isn't survivor, I would have killed at least 5 people by now and probably gotten votecn off!

Well need to go.

Dan

With the search-engine working again I found a thread started just recently by Stephmarty in which he states that he will be sailing in October on the Magic. So I assume he's still with us. I PMed him for confirmation.

Thanks a lot for the thorough research, Rosemary :D
PS: Have fun with Mike :p
PPS: Make sure that Rich & Kathy don't catch you :jester:

Weddings at 8:15am and 9am???? That's early. Glad it's not this morning because I'm tired. Was at the baseball game last night and didn't get to bed til midnight. Actually have to be at work at 9am this morning because clients are coming in. I usually don't get to work til almost 10am but having said that I also usually don't leave til 6-6:30pm either.

We are going to the baseball game again tonight but doubt there will be many people there as a lot of people (est. 450,000) will be at the Rolling Stones concert. Would be an interesting experience but have to work. :(

Dan -- Homework is not fun. The only thing I liked about going back to school was the fact that classes didn't last all day and I could watch daytime tv most of the time. I also got a reading week that was different from my son's March break. The homework part and exam part were not fun and not unstressful!!

Must go and get ready for work. Looking forward to the weekend esp as we have a holiday Monday.

We are bringing some Canadian stuff to the sailaway party. We have some stuff and are still looking.

Fiona

Dan:

OK I'm totally curious. What kind of course are you taking? Getting surprise wake up calls at 4 am is not a nice thing. Even though my usual wake up time is 4:30 at least I know I have to get up at that time.

Arlene

Hi all,
Sorry that I have been on the Silent side.. ;) Work is hell right and I am up to my Neck in it. OH and this thread has not mailed me saying that you great folks had updated the board...

To all those who thought that I was a Figment of Eric. Wrong but i consider that a compliment;)
