CRT or Chef Mickey's in current form

Just wanting to get some opinions. We usually do one pricier (not the best food, but for the kids) meals a trip. Originally I was thinking CRT since we'll be doing a princess makeover for our daughter. However, I'm wondering if Chef Mickey's is the better option. We've never done either and I've heard that the family style at Chef Mickey's is an improvement. You actually get to see characters there vs CRT where you only see Cindy and I've heard it's very brief. Which would you choose?

I ended up canceling my Chef Mickey's ADR so I can't compare it but I did eat dinner at CRT on my birthday at the end of May and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. It was actually one of the better meals I had on that trip. Cindy came out a couple of times but she did actually have distanced interactions with tables, it wasn't just a stand and wave at the back situation the way a lot of people said it was. She spoke to me twice and it was fantastic (I was wearing a literal tiara, which helped I think lol).

If you are looking for more characters in general I would do Chef Mickey's. But the food was very good at CRT, better than the last time we ate there in 2018.

We did both CRT for lunch and CM for dinner last week. All of us agreed that we would choose the food at CRT over CM and we really liked the atmosphere too. At CM, you definitely get to see more of the characters but we really thought the food was just blah. Really wasn't that good. We were fortunate and they gave us a table by the window which was away from the construction noise.

We did breakfast at CM in June. I liked it better than the buffet format. All of the food was good too. I was pleasantly surprised. We don’t usually eat there because it’s not one of our favorites, but we were traveling with another family that wanted to. After that experience I’d eat there again.

We did CM just before characters came back, so I can't comment much on that, but my son LOVED CRT. Cinderella did a really good job of interacting with people and she was out at least 3 times while we were there. It was by far his favorite meal we did all trip. I actually was pleasantly surprised by the food as well.

Thanks for the info about Cinderella. I really am so torn because we probably won't be coming back for a while so who knows if my daughter will still be Princess and dress up obsessed. Plus there's a chance my son would be adult pricing the next time we go, which will factor into meal planning as well. Although if Chef Mickey's returns to a buffet then it would probably disappear from our "want to try" list because I'm just not a big fan of buffets, especially with kids.
