Has anyone had dinner at CRT? How was it? How was the character/princessess interaction? If you went with a child....do you remember the food selection?
Thanks

I can only comment on the food from November '09 and we enjoyed it. While I did not find it of five star quality - everyone was happy. I ordered the salad and wished I had gone with the Chicken Rice soup after tasting my DHs. The majority of us had the filet mignon and it was very good. We added a little magic and ordered the Cinderella slipper from the GF. This was pricey and will not do it again since dessert comes with the meal. It was cute, but too much by the end of a big meal. DD4 (3 at the time) just ate the fresh berries that came with it while I had to polish off the slipper.

As for the princesses - I have read that they are at the dinner now and we have made our ADR for the upcoming Nov/Dec '10 trip. We did breakfast years ago and I though the interaction was good - not fantastic. Some of the princesses were patient and gave extra attention, while others seemed to rush you. (I have a picture of Snow White not looking to happy when our camera was not functioning right - she looks ticked just as the camera finally snapped. It made us giggle though after the trip.)

Did they add a filet to the menu? I thought it was just prime rib?

I can't comment on CRT since it's been a full 10 years since we were there and I don't really remember a whole lot of character interaction at that time. BUT...I will tell you that the princess character interaction at Akershus in Norway was OUTSTANDING. We booked it literally at the last minute, as my (then) 13 year old was feeling sorry for herself that the trip was "all about her 4 year old brother". We literally scrapped plans to go somewhere else and chose Akershus at the very last minute and were lucky to get ADRs.

We're heading back next year and, while I do intend to do CRT this time, my daughter is absolutely insistent that we go back to Akershus. She loved it that much.

When we were there, we saw Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Aurora and Ariel. Each of the princesses made it to the table more than once, even. The food was different than anything I'd ever thought of trying, but it was very good.

ETA: I noticed that you have a 5 year old son. I thought you should know that it was my (almost) 5 year old son's favorite meal and character interaction, surprisingly. I never would've thought he'd enjoy the princesses. :)

I am wondering about this as well. We are eating dinner for the first time in September, before our MNSSHP, and have only eaten breakfast. I can't wait to read more reviews on it. :surfweb:

I had lunch there in Dec. 08 with my nieces and nephews (all in their late teens early 20's) and the princesses were great - Had dinner in May of 09 and was disappointed - I had a 4 year in tow and at that time all they had was the fairy godmother and 2 mice - they did a little show and left, no interaction. Trying it again for the princesses in Dec of this year with the 4 year again. Since the princesses are at every meal now I am hoping for good character interaction.

As for the food it was good at both meals - I like the dinner better because I am able to select my own app. entree and dessert whereas lunch is a set menu except for the entree.

Thank you, we did do CRT breakfast 2 years ago and my son love it. He requested to ate at the castle again to see his princesses...he got so much attention the last time we were there and the princesses too so much time at our table made the experience memoriable. We went for breakfast so I wanted to give dinner a try. What did your ate?

It is my son asking to ate at the castle to see his princesses. We are planning to ate at Akershus (a new place for us so I wanted to check it off my list) and I'm glad you gave it a good review. My son was at first shy with Princesses but loves the attention.

We did lunch at CRT last year and it was my teenage daughters favorite thing from the ENTIRE trip. The princesses were Belle, Snow White, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. Cinderella greats you at the entrance for a photo op. The other princesses made the rounds and stopped at each of the tables for pictures. The princesses even loved on DH a little bit which was quite funny. I have pics of my girls with all of them. My oldest daughter who is going to be 15 this year could not stop talking about it. She was so in awe with the whole thing she barely touched her food. She loved it!! The food was also great. We are going back again this year for lunch.

I had the Prime Rib with I believe the BLT salad as the starter. Again the soup was much better with the little taste that my DH was willing to give. From what I remember the prime rib was really good and they allowed substitution. The kids loved the meal! The only thing that drives me nuts at these character meals is I never seem to relax and enjoy the meal (always taking pictures and video). DH plays the "I don't know how to work these things" as his spacegoat for not helping. They need photopass people who move around with the princesses (and other character meals) so I can eat my food!

We had lunch there. I recommend CRT only for the experience of eating in the castle. I'm treating family who have never been to Disney world to breakfast there on our next trip. Our lunch was mediocre and the characters ran in and out so fast it wasn't really enjoyable. Crystal Palace has far better food and the characters were fun.

Thank you for the responses and input.

We're headed back in December. I keep waivering back in fourth about making an ADR. We did get free dining and am wondering if its really worth 2 TS. We'll be eating here our last nite. In 07 we did Akershus for dinner and it was fantastic. My Girls (4 and 2 at the time) loved every second of it. I'm hoping this experience (they are now 6 & 4) will be just as magical.

We had dinner there at the beginning of May. DD 20 and I both had BLT salad and prime rib. DD6 ordered the chicken strips. I didn't realize they weren't breaded. When the waitress saw that she didn't eat them, she brought chicken fingers. We saw some princesses and mary poppins- who was very entertaining. Besides going from table to table, the princesses also led the kids around the room. All three of us received wands. I also wondered if it would be worth 2 table service credits and thought about cancelling it. We had late reservations and were also able to see most of the fireworks from inside the castle. DD 20 said eating there was the highlight of her trip. She absolutely loved it.

thanks to everyone that responded. I made an ADR this morning for dinne at CRT during MVMCP night and I know my son will love it. Eating castle and then partying at night.
