Crowds Last Week Question (1/21 - 1/30)

I am trying to find out if the crowds were higher this past week and weekend because of the EE preview than usual at this time in January. I figured some of you who always go this time of year that may have been there last week may be able to tell me.

We went late November in 2004 and the crowds were better at that time, so just checking. We were still able to do everything and our trip was awesome!!!

The lowest crowds we had were at Universal Studios so I thought maybe EE had a lot to do with the Disney crowd increase.

I was there last week too (1/21/06-1/28/06) and noticed that the crowds were much higher than any January in the past. We usually go the 3rd or 4th week in January and up until this trip it was the best time to go. We could walk onto all the rides with little or no wait but not this trip. We had to rely much more on FastPass. We were really disappointed in the Extra Magic Evening Hours too. I was hoping it would not be crowded but even the EMEH was more crowded than a normal day in past Januarys. I'm not sure why it was more crowded then usual. It could be the sneak peak at Everest but also I did notice a lot more international guests and am wondering if tourism is back up again after 9/11.

I'm glad you mentioned November though. We're planning our next trip for November 3-7, 2006. This will be the first time we've gone in November and I'm wondering what to expect with the crowds. I'm a little worried because the Disney resorts classify that as the regular season whereas January is considered the value season. What part of November did you go in?

hello! i made a quick trip 1/29 and 1/30....suday was packed everywhere but come monday not a soul in sight...no lines fir anything! definetly thinking EE preview was the cause of high crowds! EE was great by the way!

Gosh, I just returned this morning from a week at Disney, and I thought it was WONDERFUL! The crowds were so low, in my opinion! Saturday seemed busy at Magic Kingdom, and I am sure also Animal Kingdom with the sneak preview, but it was a beautiful day so of course people would be there. But overall I didn't think crowds could get much lower than last week!

What part of November did you go in?

We went the week after Thanksgiving in 2004. By Monday and Tuesday the crowds were great! MK was the only one with larger crowds and I think it is just always going to be the busiest of the parks.

It wasn't packed by any means last week, but larger crowds than I expected for January, so that is why I asked. The longest lines I saw were at MK. We went Thursday which was a EMH am day and Spectro night but we also went again the very next day. Friday was more crowded than the day before, which I didn't expect since EMH and Spectro were on Thursday. Go figure! So I just figured more people came in that weekend for the EE preview than usual or something. The longest line I saw the entire time was 40 minutes. I think it was for Space Mountain. But Rock N Roller Coaster was at 10 and TOT was at 20, so not jammed by any means. Just not what I expected I guess.

Also, they wouldn't let us do a baby swap at Haunted Mansion which was strange I thought. It did have a 20 minute wait and they wouldn't give us a pass. But on Dinosaur it was a 10 minute wait (in other words, non-existent) and they let us do a baby swap. Go figure!

We were at AK on Sunday and the crowds were very heavy, but the lines for rides were not, so I figured most people were there for EE.

EE was great by the way!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had to stand there watching it from afar just wishing I could ride it. LOL.
