Crowds last week of Aug/beg of Sept???

Any experiences of visiting at this time? Because peak season has finished, does it tend to be less busy or am I being optimistic?

We went over this period in 2005. The first day of the low season the park seemed empty compared to the day before, the negative was that the programme also changes (less park hours, less parades, shows etc) and some counter service places shut.
