Our trips have always been in the spring either before or after the spring break rush. This year we purchased AP's and are planning a second trip for the week before Thanksgiving week. I would like to hear what the crowds are like during this time. I know the weather could be hit or miss. Is it usually warm enough to enjoy swimming ?

It is quiet leading up to Thanksgiving and gets pretty busy for the holiday weekend. We go each year and the weather has been warm enough for the kids to swim. One year was in the 30's at night but normally in high 60's low 70's during the day. We did MK early and left as crowds got intense around noon on Thanksgiving Day. Prior to that day it was very managable.

Disnee dad Says.....................................If you can get out the weekend before Thanksgiving, this is a great time to go. The weather may be hit or miss, but is usually a hit!
There are no crowds the week before Turkey day, and if you get out on the weekend before, you are leaving before the crowds hit. Go for it!

We have vacationed at WDW BOTH the week before the week of Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving week.

The full week before THKSGVING WK was a dream. It was the beginning of the Millenium Celebration.

The weather was lovely for us New Englanders who like it cool and sunny. Although some found it too cool, we swam at WL no problem. We found the crowds to be VERY managable except at MK. It always seemed to be soooooooooooooo crowded.

This past November we spent the Saturday before Thanksgiving and left for home the Friday after Thanksgiving. It too was very manageable with a plan. We navigated MK earlier in the day and utilized the FP which was not available three years before. We toured the parks thoroughly Saturday to Wednesday and then were more selective as the crowds escalated. Friday afternoon at MK we were only able to walk through the park as a good-bye. It was JAMMED with FP times well into the evening.

If I could manage the kids missing so much school, I would pick the week before the holiday week!!!

If you have any more questions, just PM me!

We did this last year. The parks are relativly empty up to Wednesday before, then they get crowded. Our kids get out of school that whole week, so we flew down on Friday night, did the parks on Sat-Tues and then headed down to Disney's vero Beach for Wed thru Sat. So we got the best of both world's. Did the Disney thing and then went to the beach for Turkey dinner.
