Heading down to WDW on 4/1 thru 4/8. With wife, 18 mnth old DD, and 4 year old DNiece. What will the crowd levels be like? My gut tells me it might not too busy, but you never know.... :confused3 Any conventions or functions going on that week? I'll be statying at POR.

:wave2: :rolleyes1 :listen:

we'll be there at the same time (at OKW) and I had been wondering the same thing. In looking at EMH schedules, there are no extra EMH's scheduled during our visit (except perhaps for EE opening day). Also, the UG downgraded most of our park days to 7, which would really be sweet! So, I've decided not to worry about it!

I CAN'T WAIT! MY STRESS LEVEL IS SO high RIGHT NOW---I NEED A BREAK!!!

I will be at Disney World 4/1 through 4/5. I will be attending a convention that will have a large attendance. It is a software users conference for Higher Education. When they had the convention in Philadelphia 2 years ago, there was 6,000 people that attended. There may be a few schools out for Spring Break also. Our public schools are out the week after this though. During the daylight hours, most of the participants will be in classes. I am not sure how many people will bring family members. The most exciting thing for us will be Monday night. After the Animal Kingdom closes for park guests, the conference attendees only will be admitted to the park. We should have a great time riding Expediation Everest as many times as we want.

I check the Touring Plans Website it had 8 & 9 for last year at that time, I'm not so sure that's accurate. I know for a fact that US Colleges have no breaks sceduled that week. Our plan is as follows:

Saturday - Arrival @ 4:00 or so to resort
Sunday - Magic Kingdom - Crys Pal for Dinner
Monday - I have AM meetings, then to MGM early afternoon, Hollywood & Vine for Din, Fantasmic @ night.
Tuesday - Chef Micks for Bkfast, Magic Kingdom all day, Liberty Tree for dinner.
Wednesday - Play by "Ear" visit Downtown Dis, dinner @ Fort Wilderness Lodge (Whispering Canyon Cafe)
Thursday - Epcot Center, dinner @ Princess - Auerhaus (Norway)
Friday - Bkfast @ Donadls Bkfast Saurus, Animal Kingdom all day.
Saturday - Come Home :sad2:

How's it sound? :listen:

And netposed - I'd check the EMH again I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that there are some that week, though I don't think my schedule takes any fo them into account.

You'll get a lot of people from GA, all metro Atlanta schools are on Spring Break that week. We have been during the first week of April a few years ago and it wasn't too bad, not as bad as the last two weeks in March or the weeks surrounding Easter.

We're going to be there from 3/29-4/7. I have been freaking out about crowds ever since I read a post that UG/touringplans.com said most of these days were a 10. However, I looked yesterday and most are a 7. With a few 8s the closer you get to easter. I know we have 9 days and will have fun no matter what, but I really did not want "10" level crowds. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Maybe I'll see you there :)

Our public school system is out for Spring Break that week. I expect it will be pretty crowded!

It will be crowded but not nearly as bad the 2 weeks at easter. Pretty much all of IN is on spring break the first week of APril. If I were you I would cancel my trip and go some other time :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That is smack dab in the middle of the Orlando Music Festival and Disney Music Days, when music ensembles (marching bands, choirs, etc.) compete in events held at Universal and perform at MK. DD's HS marching band is leading off spectromagic on 3/31. :Pinkbounc

We were there the first full week of April last year (our kids' Spring Break) and though it was busier than we'd seen it in late Nov/early Dec, it was not as busy as Christmas time, which we did in '03. If you plan your time and use fast passes, you should be fine! :thumbsup2

Another thing...the weather was excellent during that time last year. Have a great trip! :sunny:

We were also at WDW the first week of April last year - the only day we thought "What did we get ourselves into?" was on Monday at MK. After that it was fine. We were used to January crowds. We are trying it the last week of March and into the first week this year...See you all there!

There is also an inline skate marathon the weekend of 4/1-4/2. I think there are going to be some big crowds. : (

We are going April 3-7 and staying at OWK too :sunny: ! To OT: if you arrive when the park opens you will be fine! :teeth: Part of Michigan schools has this week off for spring break.

we live in GA and are on Spring Break that week. :moped:
We are arriving early on April 1  at the WL (first time in deluxe) and leaving 4-7. :sad2: .

I know it will be crowded but our last trip was in June so I'm also hoping for better weather. :goodvibes

Same here. April 1st-9th at OKW. You are not kidding about the stress level! I do have a question for everyone though. How do you think this week will compare to President's Week? We were there a month ago for President's Week, and I would say on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the most crowded, it was probably an 8 or 8.5.) How would you say it would compare?

Thanks!

We are going April 4 - 9 too! When I booked dining a while back, the rep. on the phone slipped and said WOW when she looked at the numbers for dining. Expect crowds! :cool1: Gail

I was hoping our cheaper airfare for that week meant a small break in the Spring Crowds. I chose to slip down for a quick trip the 4th - the 8th. Looks like it'll be a busy one.....
