Looking for some feedback on crowd comparison.

We have taken two recent trips to the World.

Feb 2012-Mardi Gras coincided with President's week

March 2014-Mardi Gras week only

We are planning a trip for Thanksgiving 2015. Will arrive the Friday before Thanksgiving and leave to go home Thanksgiving morning.

How will the crowds compare? I have read that the Thanksgiving weekend is worse than earlier that week. We personally felt Mardi Gras alone was worse than MG/President's week. Am I going to be looking at comparable crowds on our next trip as our last two?

Thoughts?

This may be of help.

Thanks. I knew the crowd predictions were pretty close. Looks like this week (MG/President's Week) is an 11 and Thanskgiving week is a 10. Yes, both crowded for sure. Last year we talked with a family who was from Louisiana taking advantage of the MG break (different week than President's week in 2014) from school and she said that their prior trip was during Thanksgiving. She said the crowds were worse during the MG trip than the Thanksgiving trip....at least comparing it to the early part of the Thanksgiving week.

Maybe someone that has been there for both time frames can give some feedback too.

We have been at Mardi Gras, Mardi Gras/Presidents Day, and Thanksgiving. Mardi Gras/Presidents Day was by far the most crowded of the three for us.

Hey there, friend! It's been a long time since I've seen you on here.

I have no input on the Mardi Gras vs. Thanksgiving debate since I've been avoiding holiday weeks like the plague (until this year :scared1:). But, I do think y'all will be fine with a good plan. And since it's not y'all's first trip. I do expect a full report though on the crowds because if it's not terrible, I may start going that week since I don't really want to take Reid out of school anymore. And if I can survive this coming Easter with certain family, then surely Thanksgiving can't be that bad. Right?!?:worried:

Hi there!! Yes, it's been a while since I have visited. I tend to stay away unless I am planning a trip. So I have been browsing lately. I have come to the conclusion that I need to plan and do a quick trip like we did the first time. No time to fret and change my mind 10 times (not that you know anything about that). I believe when we went in 2012 (MG/President's week) all the days were 8-10 crowd levels. We thought last year was worse than that and those days were rated 4-6. When it's crowded in AK...you know it's bad...and it was. I am trying not to stress. Rememer whose idea this trip was. Ha! Just wanted to gauge what someone who may have be there at both time may have thought. I still have lots of time. Will need to decide where to stay and then we can sort out ADRs later.

I think if you go in with the mindset that the crowds will be awful and just try to get your favorites done and some other things you may usually skip, I think you'll be fine. At least that is what I'm trying to tell myself for Easter.

We can talk places to stay & ADRs this weekend!! I'm so excited for y'all to come in & visit. And you'd be proud of me....I had the urge to switch resorts today but I stayed strong & didn't call Disney. LOL!!!
