I know this has been asked and answered before but I'm going to ask it again.

Does anyone have a tried and true way to re-stick your cricut mats?
What do all of you use and does it work.

I promise I'll write it down this time.

And if anyone sees them on sale can you please post an enabled tread.

Thanks so much. :goodvibes

I thought someone said they sprayed theirs with something.

I spray mine with Fantastic cleaner spray and then rub it with an old credit card (well, casino card :rotfl:) to get all the gunk off.

I then let it dry...usually a few hours...then I use the thick zig 2 way pen on it and let it dry overnight. Before cutting with it, I stick and unstick a piece of carddstock a few times.

Sometimes though...I don't bother with the glue...cleaning with the Fantastic often gets alot of the old sticky back!

Hope that helps!

I spray mine with quilter's spray - I think they use it to baste fabric together. Don't have to do it very often - my can of it will probably outlive me.

I've been doing the zig pen but lately it's been ruining my paper, almost getting to sticky.

I need a good spray adhesive. I may try that one you talked about Linda

We're the sprayer people!

Best-Test Repositionable adhesive (the one in the gold, black, and red spray can) from ACM - about $10 before coupon. Clean mats with baby wipes and hit them with this stuff. Works like a charm - we use the same mats for a long time.

Also - the 12 x 12 mats are currently $10.54 a pack on Amazon - and are part of the buy four/pay for three special deal. So, you could get 8 mats for $31.50 - a good price! (No tax + free ship)

We typically buy ours during this promo (they don't have it all the time) - but are still well stocked, since ours last awhile...

I use Kyrlon's Easy Tack to redo my mats- I will clean them, then spray them, and let them sit uncovered for about 10 minutes to "dry" before I put the cover back on. I find that it works very well and I bought the 1 bottle I have a few years ago and have quite a bit left.

Has anyone tried the "slice" spray adhesive? Just wondering, I saw that at M's today.

I do this too. I did learn the hard way to make sure to tape off the outer edges of the mats so you don't gum up your cricut rollers...:rolleyes1

Humph - NOW you share this tip! :rotfl2: I think we must have the furriest rollers in Cricutland - they still work just fine, but I keep thinking I've gotta go at them with a Q-Tip...

Crap...I thought *you* were the one who told me about that tip:rotfl: Ooops.

You shoulda seen mine - cat hair, dog hair, rat hair...all gummed up in there:scared1:

can you say "voids warranty"

I also have re-stickied my mat by using a VERY thin layer of Aileene's tack it over and over.. or something liike that name. :rotfl2:

It definately made my mat sticky, but it has held up really well, but not good for fragile papers.

I use a repositional adhesive by 3M (not sure of the exact name). I line the edges of my mat with newspaper so that only the cutting surface is visible then, spray away. It really only takes a thin layer of the spray to get the sticky back. After it dries I peel off the newspaper. Using the newspaper really cuts down on the "furry" rollers.

Bonus tip: After you make a card spray the back with repositional adhesive and stick it to your giftbag or wrapped gift. It will not move until peeled off, there is no damage to the card or gift and you don't need an envelope! :thumbsup2

thanks everyone! i'll give one of them a try.

Sample conversation, dateline ACM, Sunday, September 19th, around 10:30 am:

Holly - "Jennifer, what was the name of that sticky stuff for the Cricut mats?"

Jennifer - "I don't know, I thought you were writing it down."

Holly - "Well, I didn't..."

Rhonda - "It's Best-Test Repositionable adhesive."

Holly - "Thank you, Rhonda."
