Crazy question: Has anyone worn flip-flops to the parks before?

I have worn tennis shoes in the past to the parks but I've never been when it was so hot. I'm wondering if it would be a complete mistake to wear flip-flops like yellow box.

IMO the advantage from the flip-flops being less hot is outweighed by the disadvantage of them being less supportive and therefore less comfortable after walking long distances. I recommend sneakers. But, there are always those who post that flip-flops are fine for them.

My teenager, who refuses to wear the Keen or Teva sandals that the rest of us wear, wore her Teva Mush flip flops all over Disney world with no problems last week. Personally I don't recommend it, but it can be done.

My DIL and DW have both done it, but they wear them everywhere all the time with no issues.

I wear TEVA's MUSH flip flop/ sandal. It is a small wedge and is very comfortable for all day walking. I wouldnt recommend a simple flip flop though.

my Teva sandals worked very well but my feet would be just killing me if I tried flip flops....standing that long in flats with no support? no way for me!

I'm wondering the same thing. I have really nice, comfortable Sperry flip flops - thinking of doing sneakers for park touring and throwing those on for when we go to dinner at night!

The ability to wear flip flops in the parks really has to do with your own feet, I think. I wear flip flops year round and my feet are used to them. On my last visit, I wore Adidas and my feet were killing me. I had to go back to the resort and change into my flip flops. I wore them for the rest of the trip and did fine.

My wife has done it and I tell her I think shes crazy for it every time :rotfl:. We've walked up and down the Ocean City,MD boardwalk before while I was wearing flip-flops and my feet were killing me after about two miles. Guess it depends but if you plan on doing it I would throw some sneakers in your bag.

Flip Flops are about all I saw in the parks this past week but I have to wonder how those ladies feet felt at the end of the day after spending countless hours walking the parks? I spent probably 75% of my time wearing my Chacos and the rest of the time I had to wear my tennis shoes, but I have plantar fascitiitis so I need good support.

Yup just my regular flip flops that I love. I wore them at Disney. I had no problems! :thumbsup2

Sandals, yes, all the time. That's all I typically wear.

Flip flops? I will wear supportive, comfortable flips flops like Clarks brand if I know I'm going to take it easy, like wandering around the world showcase during food and wine festival. But not if I'm planning to commando style tour the magic kingdom all day. (and we're not talking shower shoes type flip flops)

Unless they are very comfortable I would highly advise against bringing JUST flip-flops. I have the unfortunate luck of living with flat feet and refuse to wear flip-flops the entire day at the park. However I bring a pair for the water rides.

I have worn them and in between my toes began to get sore. I then switched to slides. My GDG wears them every time we go with no trouble..

I wear a pair of yellow box flip flops everyday almost all year so that's why I wondered. I guess I'm a little worried about my feet getting run over by a stroller or something in my flip fops. I'm also not sure how my feet will feel walking so much in them but I do wear them all the time. I will definitely take tennis shoes too. Where can I find the sandals you all are recommending?

I have worn my Reef sandals with the thick sole to the parks many times. The only downside is that if it rains things can get very slippery.

Flops are all I ever wear at Disney anymore. I tried several trips, buying really expensive athletic shoes and it never fails that I get blisters and have to go to flops anyway. I do wear ones that have some arch support, but not expensive ones except if I just fall in love with them and have to have them!;)

Never had a problem with anyone stepping on toes or rolling over me with a stroller in them.

I have never worn anything but flip flops to the parks at WDW. I wear flip flops year round, and to me, they are the most comfortable shoes I own. But you have to be used to wearing flip flops. I chase my kids around all day in flip flops.

Days 1-3 I wore Teva athletic sandals. Day 4 I wore flip-flops. My feet hurt so bad by that point, that my goal was just to make them hurt in a different way. :thumbsup2
