Crazy question: Has anyone worn flip-flops to the parks before?

3 out of four of us where good running shoes but my young adult daughter where's her flip flops and hasn't had any problems. I wouldn't recommend flip flops but what do I know?

Never. Having anything between the toes while walking for any sort of long period will destroy my feet.

That is all I wear to the parks. I wear Teva's and love them. I have never had an issue with them.

In fact all summer I live in my Teva's or Yellow Box flip flops. They do have better support then the cheap kind.

Old Navy, and other cheap flip flips, no! Teva Mush, Croc Capri, my current Rainbow flip flops, and others - fantastic arch support, great for the parks, in my opinion (:

I tried it once and my entire body felt awful after just a few hours walking around in flip flops. Maybe if you're young & fit it'll work for you. I am the opposite of that and I was miserable.

I have worn cheap Old navy flip flops every trip, to each park...rarely do I wear running shoes. I've never had a problem, always be very comfortable :thumbsup2

I wear LL Bean flip flops at Disney all the time, averaging 10+ miles a day. I've never had any issues and find them very comfortable. The LL Bean ones have arch support. I'm going again next month and that's what I'm packing.

I have worn all kinds of shoes and flip flops to Disney and the thick soled Yellow box are the best

I'm a flip flop freak! DH makes fun of my flip flop tan line, but I think he's just jealous.

I wear Nike flip flops in the parks, the ones with memory foam cushion in them. So comfy. I also bring mole skin, because when you get wet they will rub. No matter what brand you buy they rub somewhere.

Flip flops + mole skin = one happy Disney lady!

I switch my shoes around to keep my feet from getting blisters or other sore spots. Tevas or Nike flip flops are part of what I wear. I particularly like to wear them when we go to the parks in the evening.

I wear a pair of yellow box flip flops everyday almost all year so that's why I wondered. I guess I'm a little worried about my feet getting run over by a stroller or something in my flip fops. I'm also not sure how my feet will feel walking so much in them but I do wear them all the time. I will definitely take tennis shoes too. Where can I find the sandals you all are recommending?

Flip flops only - 365 days a year.

I live in Arizona, so socks and shoes are only for visiting those snowy places.

The key is to stick with what is comfy for your feet.
Mine are ORTHAHEEL brand (kind of pricey, but worth it). I get them from footsmart.com

It's Croc flip flops or sandals for me now.

I use to wear various kinds of tennis shoes on our trips before and they absolutely kill my feet/legs/back. It was so bad I could hardly walk at times after being in the parks and my legs would ache all night. I didn't know it was the sneakers...I thought it was just a health issue for me and something I would just have to deal with as I have back and sciatic nerve problems.

Fast forward...on our last trip I took the leap and wore Croc flip flops called Vezzys to the parks. It was a complete change - they are like walking on a cushioned dream. No foot pain, heel pain, leg pain or back pain for me with these shoes at all. I walked hours in them day after day. If we went back to the resort in the evening, I would sometimes switch out to another Croc style (either a flip flop or a sandal) just for a style change, but not because I had to. When I got back home I ordered a couple more pairs.

My husband wears Teva sandals.

For years I suffered with blisters. Just about ruined every trip for me. Tried all kinds of footwear, even bought a $300.00 pair of walking shoes one year. Blister blocker did not help. Nothing ever worked.
Then I got a pair of Teva Mush flip flops. They have arch support, and mold to your foot. They have soft cloth between the toes. Since my feet did not get sweaty, I did not have blisters. I was a revelation!!
My feet are really flat, and I am a Grandma (so age has nothing to do with it). The last 5 trips I have only worn flip flops. I will never, ever wear anything else again in the parks.
Next trip is in January and I might need a jacket, but I am wearing my flip flops, even if it is cold.

I like Reef flip flops a lot and wear them in the parks. I switch back and forth from Reefs to tennis shoes.

The ability to wear flip flops in the parks really has to do with your own feet, I think. I wear flip flops year round and my feet are used to them. On my last visit, I wore Adidas and my feet were killing me. I had to go back to the resort and change into my flip flops. I wore them for the rest of the trip and did fine.

This is me too. Whenever I switch to sneakers for some 'big' outing, I always wind up with more discomfort because my feet are so used to flip flops - they demand FREEDOM!

I have worn my Reef sandals with the thick sole to the parks many times. The only downside is that if it rains things can get very slippery.

All I wear are Reef flip flops. They have great arch support and are very comfortable. I live in them all spring, summer, and fall anyway, so my feet are used to them. I tried wear my gym shoes, the last time, and had to go back and change into my flip flops. No way could I wear anything else. I wouldn't recommend wearing cheap ones. But the good ones work great for me. Someone wondered how feet were doing by the end of the day. I had no problems whatsoever.

I'm in Cleveland so I only get to wear mine for a few months! But yes, reef heartbreaker sandals. Padded straps, arch support, like a cloud molded to your foot. A shoe does not have to be a sneaker to have support! I've worn all sorts of shoes to the parks over the years and done the OUCH at the end of the night and every day after that, but once I found these, I will never wear anything else unless it is too cold there to wear them. My aunt has bad plantar fasciitis and they are the only thing that works for her. And I'm a runner but still prefer the reefs to my fitted sneakers in the parks. At the end of the day I am usually the only one whose feet are doing ok :thumbsup2

no one has ever worn flip flops to Disney, not sure they are even allowed!!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Sorry, I couldn't resist! I never take sneakers to WDW, too hot & bulky on my feet. I have Tevas, Clarks & Adidas flip flops and have never had an issue at WDW with any of them, ever.

LOL

I usually do. But comfy ones like Reefs or Clarks. My feet need to be a me to breathe and stretch. I only wear sneakers in the park for RunDisney races.

Not the el cheap $2 thongs.

I have not read other replies, but yellow box flip flops are the only shoes I'll wear in the parks. Same with my two daughters (ages 10 and 7). And this is mid December when it's cold! LOL. I cannot stand having my feet confined all day - if I walk around Disney in sneakers all day, I'm in misery by the end of the day. I'll wear my yellowbox every day for a week there, and I'm fine!

Yes, that is me too! I wear my yellow box all the time but when they get wet they are hard to walk in so I wonder how it would be after a water ride.
