Crazy question: Has anyone worn flip-flops to the parks before?

Quick true story for you.

Way, way, (WAY) back, when I visited in 1992, I recall a day I wore flip flops, and they broke. So I was walking around MK in bare feet. It was hot & sunny, I was young in my twenties, so I didn't think anything of it

I was stopped, and told I was not allowed to walk around the park bare feet. I explained that one of my flip flops had completeley broken. The elderly cast member asked me to follow him.

He escorted me into guest services, he took the broken flip flop off me, and went into a back office. About 5 mins later he came back out front - and said "there you go - have a nice day", and he had mended it for me !!

Wonder if they'd take the trouble to do that nowadays?

I have sketchers flip flops and the soles are like sneaker material, super comfy!

On my last trip I wore Sketchers Tone up flip flops. Now they have stopped making them so I had to find something new. I have Olukai's and Sole flip flops. I love them. The arch support and cushion, especially on the Sole's is amazing. They are both pricy but since I wear one oe the other every day already, they are well worth it. Based on my current experience.with them, the Soles will be my main park shoe. I know they handle wet well because I spilled a large iced tea down the front of me before work one morning and I had no slipping or rubbing issues.

I wear flip flops at home unless there is snow on the ground. I have always only worn flip flops at Disney and my feet are never sore. I hate socks and shoes and hope I never have to wear them at the Parks.

My whole family wears flip flops except me and they have never once complained about them. The only problem we have ever had was on our trip in November my dd16 realized one of her flip flops was broken on the bus on the way to Animal Kingdom so we ended up buying her new ones.

I was anti flip flops in the park until I got my Crocs flip flops. They are great all day and don't hurt my toes or feet. Love them! I rotate them with my Crocs Scutes and I have happy feet all week!

I wore flip flops in the park for 8 days last October. They were Croc "Malia" flip flops, and they're now my favorite type of sandals. No pain or discomfort. I was doing much better than my fiancé in his Reeboks.

I'm debating on what to wear for our upcoming trip. I don't care for flip flops, but I have a pair of Birkenstock sandals that I practically live in. My last trip I wore tennis shoes the whole time and my feet were so sore by the end of the week. I may end up having sore feet either way, but I really hate wearing tennis shoes unless I have to. I think I'm going to try the sandals to start, but pack my tennis shoes just in case.

My Yellow Box flip flops are all I wore this last trip minus one day. On our first park day I tried to wear Chaco's and didn't not have the easiest time with them, they are comfy to a point but didn't work for me. I had to switch to my favorite Yellow Box flippies and I was happy the rest of the trip. :goodvibes

They offered enough arch support and cushion that I was happy. I'm not sure if they would be as comfy now since they make them with such a hard foot bed and waaaay more narrow than they use to. I don't get the flat one's I get the blinged out ones with about a inch and half or so of a foot bed. :goodvibes

Major foot problems here....I only wear Kalso Earth Cabo San Lucas flip flops - to the parks as well as pretty much every day. They are very comfortable and supportive (and waterproof).

I wear my Birks, and they're awesome. Best shoes ever made.

I used to wear flip flops, but managed to severely injure my foot at the ripe old age of 28. All I did was wear the flip flops one whole day, and it put too much stress on my arch. I could barely walk at all. It was our first day in the parks, so I had to use a wheelchair and hobble the rest of the trip. Not fun at all.

But my Birkenstocks are more comfortable than my tennis shoes.

Another vote for Crocs here. I bought my Crop flip flops specifically for a disney vacation YEARS ago and still wear them to this day. I call them my Disney shoes. :)

We have very comfortable leather Oakley one and I have done 28 back to back days in them,. I would not do it in plastic ones however.

Nike makes a nice supportive, cushy flip flop that I have worn to the parks with no problem. You can usually find them discounted too!
