DH likes the jellied kind. I like whole berry. I buy small cans of both.

My mom makes homemade, & I make homemade. It's so easy! I make mine w/ orange marmalade.

When we're hosting (as we are this year), I also have the canned Ocean Spray jellied sauce w/ the ridges for people like the OP. LOL! And we slide it out of the can & serve it just like the OP's picture... for some people, there's something about seeing those ridges.

In my family, we call this cranberry sauce ala Bart.

We have both cranberry sauce ala Bart and plain homemade (no orange or other flavors, just sugar, water & cranberries) on our Thanksgiving table.

A couple grocery store delis make pretty good cranberries. Meijers is the best and Krogers isn't bad.

It was never a big thing in my house, as my dad and my uncle were the only ones who would eat it anyway. My mom used to make it for them every year but eventually just stopped because it was a waste. Neither of them actually ate it with their turkey, either. They would just eat a dainty little bowl of it after they were done eating the rest of their food, like it was some kind of pre-dessert dessert. :confused3

I never liked it as a kid because I thought it was too tart, but I like it ok now. It's still not a part of our Thanksgivings though. The only time I have it is if it's at a restaurant.

I got a recipe from a student a few years ago, and love it. But I always buy an additional can of jellied for any who prefer that.

I have to have the canned one, and not broken up but whole with the lines, for my adult kids.

I make the relish of cranberries and orange because I like it.

I had to google satsumas but I had never heard that word.

Just the tip of the iceberg-I have at least a dozen ice trays' worth of juice already in the freezer.
Satsumas-It's what's for dinner (and breakfast and lunch and snacks!)

I like the raw relish with cranberries, sugar and a whole orange. No one eats it but me. I have made a cooked version with craisins and juice that my ds likes. That one is good for sandwiches.

It's all good to me! If you get the canned stuff DON'T read the nutrition label...the sugar and carbs are ridiculous (probably worse than a slice of pie.)

homemade,no question. I make 2 types, one with sugar, one with honey - I like the sugar version better. I always add cinnamon and a touch of ginger,it's amaizng and wonderful

Canned, jellied. That and my dd's crockpot dressing are all I want for Thanksgiving Dinner...

My husband only likes canned jellied. I like homemade. He wins since I do all the cooking and just don't feel like making homemade after cooking everything else.

Homemade cranberry relish which is just cranberries, an orange, an apple, and a little sugar. I don't like any of the cooked or canned sauces. My husband does like a can of the whole berry one occasionally.

Canned is just no. No. And, hell no.

Homemade, which has to be one of the most ridiculously simple things to make ever, is the only way.

We have 4 different: canned jellied, canned whole berries, homemade cranberry/orange relish & homemade boozy cranberry sauce. I take a smidge of each!

DH and DS like the canned, jellied on their rolls with the meal. The rest of us don't eat it. I've never liked it but I will eat it on a Bobby from Capriotti's. That's technically Thanksgiving in sandwich form so I'm not sure why I don't like it with my meal.
