I MUST have canned jellied cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. That's the only kind I like. The lines on it are the highlight of the meal.

About 10 years ago, we went to a cousin's house for Thanksgiving. Someone brought a fancy homemade whole berry cranberry relish, and it was barely touched. Everybody went for the canned stuff.

I don't eat it, but I get the canned jellied, and the canned whole berry for the ones that do. The jellied is for Thanksgiving dinner. The whole berry is for leftover turkey sandwiches

Cranberry sauce at my house is always an after thought. I know some people like it so I buy a can of Ocean Spray cranberry sauce in case someone wants it. Sometimes my dad's wife makes it and brings it but it rarely gets eaten.

I make homemade plain and homemade with orange. We also have the canned, jelly type since that's DS18s favorite. I like the cranberry orange relish best.

I don't eat it anymore because it has so much sugar but if I did I'd go for whole berry.

I can't eat it anymore (too acidic and flares up my medical problems), but when I could it would always be homemade.

I do homemade whole berry orange too but with satsumas. We're always up to the eyeballs in satsumas at this time of year.

Now, I see it the other way - if there's whole berries, it's for the meal. The jellied stuff is much easier to spread on bread for the sandwiches.

We use the canned jellies type all the time year round..
We eat wayyyy toooo muchhhh
Chicken lol

I always used to make my own, it also had an orange, an apple and raisins in with the cranberries. So yummy.

If I ate it that is how I would do it. Dh has always been a little weird LOL

I hate both types of the canned stuff so we never put just that on the table. Growing up my mom added the canned berry sauce to red jello, so we had cranberry jello. I make my own cranberry relish with apples and walnuts. A little bit goes a long way. We also have a special cranberry cocktail at Thanksgiving - bourbon, amaretto, cranberry ginger ale with a cranberry garnish.

Starting about 20 years ago my kids have been in charge of making the homemade cranberry sauce. We have 2 friends who come every year for Thanksgiving who prefer the canned jellied, so we always used to have that too. A couple of years ago they both tried the homemade (finally) and discovered they like it better. So no more canned jellied cranberry sauce on our table.

I have to have the canned one, and not broken up but whole with the lines, for my adult kids.

I make the relish of cranberries and orange because I like it.

I had to google satsumas but I had never heard that word.

I eat the canned one year round with chicken , turkey and pork but I use it squished up so that the juice comes out.........that is my version of gravy or sauce since I don't enjoy either of those on my meat.

I grew up on canned but like mine much better. I make it with red grapes, fresh ginger, white wine, and pomegranate. It's my own special recipe.
