Selena~ what exactly is trip cancellation and trip interuption? Is this the amout you each get back? Or the deductible? Sorry for the questions... just don't know who else to ask. Thanks.

LOL I really am not too sure. From what I do understand is this....
trip cancellation is if you (I hope) have to cancel due to some reason that can be proven why you could not go such as medical reasons.
Trip interuption from what I have read on other threads is when a hurricane may upset your trip. Such as one is coming and you have to stay at another hotel before your cruise can go out. It will pay for your hotel and food costs due to the interruption.

Does that make sense? I hope so.

Wow! I've seen this thread a few times and thought what could interest me with pinapple juice. Then, tonight I saw how many posts it had and thought I had to see. Hahaha! Looks like I have missed the party. I just wanted to say hi to everyone.

If you have read every page you will see we might talk about anything. It all started with Sandy and her question about juices. I read her question and thought wow those are juice I use in drinks...I wonder if this is why she is asking.

I hit the nail on the head and we have been having fun ever since. I feel like we are all a group of ladies that are going out for ladies night now. It is lots of fun to chat with friends.

I think we are all junkies for a cruise and a little adult beverages. As you can tell we have talked about drinks, curves, diets, the navigator and even insurance. Like Karen said you are welcome to join in on the fun. Pull up a chair toour table and one of us will mix you up a drink. What is your pleasure?

Hi Jsme~ it DOES make sense but I am trying to figure out... the figure they give you eg. trip cancellation $1125... does that mean you have a deductible of $1125 or they only pay $1125? That is the confusing part.
NEXT.... I just got back from the liquor store (yes, again.... ) as I am REALLY trying to find out about that Chocolate Vodka and Banana Vodka (for that Funky Monkey drink) and I didn't find either. HOWEVER I tallked to a man there that said... if you go to the Virgin Islands you can bring back up to 5 bottles each. If you go to Cozumel and Cayman (where I am going...) you only can bring back 1 bottle duty free and then the other bottles you pay duty on which still makes it cheaper than if we bought it here. I did not know that.... I thought EVERYWHERE we could bring back (I thought actually 6 bottles) but at least 5.
Does anybody else know aboiut this and if this info is right?

Thank you for the warm welcome! I am pulling up my chair. I told my DH the name of that Funky Monkey Chocolate Banana Martini and he said that sounded good. I am not fond of bananas though so I probably wouldn't like it. I can't wait for my cruise, I am counting down the days. My Dad passed away 2 months ago and I really really need a relaxing vacation where I don't think about work or problems. Just fun, and maybe Funky Monkeys minus the banana.

Hi ImMarcik~ I am so sorry about your dad as I can totally relate. I lost BOTH my parents this past year. My dad Easter time and my mom a year on Wed (the day after my birthday). I am dreading next week. My moms last wish was to take my sister and me on a cruise ~ and we did go. (Carnival) We had a great time!! My mom LOVED cruising and so we (my sisters family and my family) are doing a reunion cruise in Feb. My mom would be so proud of me if she saw how I am surprising everyone with matching t-shirts and baskets in the cabins upon arrival AND door magnets!!!! I know she is all excited up there watching me get ready!!! So I am really happy you get to go relax as these past months have probably been emotionally draining on you. You will have fun here though!! We are a bunch of Funky Monkeys!!! You certaiky won't be bored here!!!! Karen

ImMarcik, I am sorry to hear about your dad. You will have a wonderful time on your cruise. Just remember you can not do it all. Take time to relax and enjoy the view.

As far as drinks guys I am going to have a (don't dare laugh) a serg seven and diet sierra mist. Yummy. It is really good. I have ate entirely too much I should not have in the last 2 days and I better watch the alcohol calories.

Sandy will be leaving soon on here repo cruise. I hope she thinks of us while she is gone.

Heidi where are you today. Wait you said you are off and will be back Monday.

I am playing on another site with new friends that will be going on the Freedom of the Seas with me next November (2006). They are a hoot.

Let me see if I can shed some light on the insurance.....

When buying insurance separate from DCL (which we always do), I add up how how much the trip will cost....everything from cruise, airfare, rental car, etc. I divide that amount by how many in our family and then enter that total amount per person on the insurance quote page...let's say that it totaled 1,800.00 per person for everything. So, if we were to cancel last minute for a covered reason we each would get $1,800.00 back.

Trip interruption is when something happens that keeps you from getting to your destination after you already began your trip....like last year we were supposed to leave from port canaveral on a Sat, but hurricane Jeanne hit PC and the cruise left on Monday from Ft. Lauderdale instead. We had already started our trip and were already in Florida so we had to find a place to stay until Monday....we stayed at the Polynesian at WDW and saved all the recipets for meals, room, etc. I submitted those to the insurance co and was fully reimbursed for what we spent. I think the trip cancellation has a cap per person, but we did not go over the cap so we got it all back.

Hope I did not confuse anyone more than they already were.

Now, I have tears in my eyes. I can so totally relate to the way you are feeling. My Dad knew about our trip. He would so want me to be happy. He stressed to me that when he dies I have to be okay. So, hopefully he will be looking down smiling at me while I relax on the boat.
I have to share something. Last year my brother and my step sister both took family photos with their families and gave them to my Dad for Christmas. Well they were saying that we had to do that too. So every since I booked this cruise I had been telling my DH that we were going to take pictures on the cruise and buy an 8 x10 for our parents to give them. That will be one of the saddest times on the cruise now is taking pictures because he won't get his picture he wanted.
Anyhow, we are cruising during Thanksgiving AND our 7 year anniversary. I plan on surprising my DH with a gift basket and one for my DD too.
I watch what I eat too. Last year I decided to get serious and I lost 20 pounds. I am happy with the way I look now. But, the month of the cruise, I gotta be strict because I think I will gain 20 back haha.

I'm glad to join up with the funky monkeys.

Hey, I just got back from the liquor store (funny that seems to be a recurring theme around here) and I finally got some Parrot Bay Mango Rum. Now, I can try my potassium~vit C filled drink with the Mango flavor too....

Hi guys,

Miss us?? Heidi and I went camping over the weekend. Had a good time. We tried Hawaiian punch, sprite and Parrot Bay rum. It is very good and will do for the cruise but the cranberry/pineapple juice is much better. But at least I will be getting my vitamin C with the Hawaiian punch!

Welcome Marci, my FIL just passed away June 30th so Heidi (PoohFriend is my daughter) and I can sympathize.

Selena, I will miss all of you on the repo cruise. Just don't forget me while I am gone. Vizualize me sitting on deck 4 chairs, relaxing with a drink of the day in hand.

Cristi, Heidi and I just tried Mango rum and orange juice last week. Not my favorite.

Dreamakermom, it had to be a horrible year for you losing both parents. I am sorry to hear that.

Hello to all!!!

YES! Jiminy and Heidi we DID miss you!!!! And we are sure glad you are back here with us!!

I have been too busy to reply too much this weekend, but, thanks all for the support. Last year WAS terrible and now all I need to do is get past Wed and maybe I can put it more behind me. I surely miss my mom , but in the losses, Ihave learned to appreciate more. The little family I DO have and all my friends... including you guys! *Even though you drink too much!!! )

OK Back to business... went to try out those Black Cherry Bacardi Low Carb drinks.... I LOVE Black Cherry but did not like these. I thought they tasted like it was a vanilla flavored rum type drink. So... I am saving you all money.

OK, my DH just took me down to the beach area and bought me a real cute (oo la la) little outfit (for my birthday) for the cruise. The GREAT thing was is looked better on me than I thought it would!!! He walked away with twice as many clothes for him... but at least he will look good!!!

Sorry to be a thread breaker - but I just wanted you all to know what fun it has been to read your thread over the past few weeks!

I can remember when the thread started and wow - 16 pages later and you guys sure are going strong!
