Heidi and Sandy I know are daugher/mother here....but Cristi you are also in CO and in the same town, right? You guys know one another or related too?

Heidi here in NC it was a whomping 98 degrees but with the humdity and all it was way over a 100. We went to the pool at 11:38 and stayed until 3:45. Normally I sit in my lounge chair and read a book while the kids play in the pool. My friend Pam and I talk most of the day and only get in at pool break when the kids have to get out and the adults can get in. BUT...today was so hot I stayed in the pool all day except to use the bathroom and eat lunch.

I have been playing a little over at the Cruise Critic boards. You know they just are not as good at replying or answering questions over there.

We have cancelled our DCL cruise for November 2006. We decided to go on the new ship RCCL is coming out with next June. The Freedom of the Seas. Oh man does it look good. I booked two staterooms. A PR room for the kids and a Deluxe Oceanview Room for us. Our room has a verandah. The kids are directly across from us. I know hardly nothing about the large ships of RCCL. I am trying to learn a few things. RCCL does not give discounts to the TA's anymore so you can not get a better price with a TA over the CL. But I did find a TA that was giving free shore exursions. So we were able to get four excursion in Grand Cayman for free. I tell you there is not much though I see interesting in the Western itineary. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Selena, what????? You are abandoning Disney? Actually RCCL has my interest as well. We went on the Western but nothing struck our fancy for excursions. We love the Eastern more. No, we don't actually know Cristi. There is a thread going called Colorado Cruisers where we talk almost daily. We have never met but have plans to in the near future. I use to post on the Cruise Critic board but I like this board much better.

I am not going to totally abandon Disney. LOL
Have you looked at this ship? It just looks so kewl. I just hope we are not wasting our money.

I so like this board over the Cruise Critic board. We cruised a Western 13 years ago on our first ever cruise. I am looking at going to the sunset resort in Jamica at Montego Bay. You can take a taxi for $5 and show you Cruise id and get in for a day pass of $20 for adults and $10 for children. This will include your usage of their hotel/resort, water sports, pools, food and beverages (leaded and unleaded). I figured for the most $85 (depending on what age they consider a child) is not bad. I really was not impressed with the Western Itinerary when we cruised then but I so want to go on this ship. And if you think about it you pay all of this money to cruise not to go on the islands. So I think we will try to enjoy the ship as much as possible. I am excited about it. We do have a lively thread going on for roll call on our cruise dates. I have just joined in on the thread. Alot of the folks are going down a day before and staying at the Marriot. They are getting group rates and hopefully a party room. I think that will be so much fun. Dh is not a talker or very out going and can be a party pooper but I told him he is going to this. We should have enough for the Meet and Mingle on RCCL as well. Which will be a load of fun. Jeff said he wished we had friends that would cruise with us. I told him this is a way to make a few!

Dreamamker mom you are so crazy. :rotfl2: This is so what I would have to do. There is no way Jeff would go for it otherwise. I think it would be a blast to do this and see what he would say. I would have to do the same things you will have to do in order to get him to wear what I bought! Well actually I have already booked the Rasul. It is so much fun. We laughed our heads off in there last year. I cleaned up the mess before we left...I did not want the CM to see the mud on the ceilings. :cool1:
We tried to slide out a little early so I would not have to face the CM...because I know she knew what we were doing in that room....but darn if she was not expecting it and was at the counter when we left. I was so embarassed!

Selena, you are exactly right. We cruise for the ship and not the ports. Some people don't understand that. Your other post sure has me thinking about RCCL in 2007!

Sandy, the Freedom just looks so wonderful. I can picture myself in that whirlpool overlooking the sea. Only thing is I can not imagine not going on DCL for 2 years! I might have to squeeze in a Wonder somewhere.

We first thought about going in July, but it would be so hot and the price difference will pay for our flight costs and the passports. I was able to get two rooms on the Freedom for less than the 7 day cruise on Magic.

:earseek: Wow, sounds like a good deal to me!!!! Maybe I will take a look at that ship and we can all meet up there. What really got me was the hot tub overlooking the sea!!!! But I did vow to never do the Western Itinerary ever again....maybe I can make an exception. But I know if we were at the same port and the Magic pulled up next to us, I might cry!!!!

Selina - Glad you were able to escape the heat and go to the pool. Humidity is the killer, sometimes I am glad that Denver has no humidity but the dryness can suck also!!!!

I must add, my mom and I tried an off brand mango rum with Orange juice and my suggestion is to NEVER get the off brand, ALWAYS get Malibu Mango Rum!!!!! That brand was nasty.

I am trying this quote thing out.... Jsme... you are too funny :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I bet the CM's have seen it all (literally).

We tried to go down I-4 to watch the shuttle take off yesterday but I guess too many clouds... bummer.

Lulu~ I went to Curves todayand they are selling their shake mixes. I needed to know which flavor you used inthat drink you made.

Jsme~ Way to go on the weight loss. I went today and reluctantly got weighed and measured and I lost 2-1/2 lbs which shocked me because I hadn't been exercising most of the past month. That was promising!

OK Guys~ I went to the liqour store yesterday and spent nearly $100! I thought of all of you guys!!! I could not find any Banana Vodka or Chocolate Vodka as posted on the recipes. Did anyone make a mistake and say Banana Vodka instead of Banana Rum (Funky Monkey I think) and then, what about that Chocolate Vodka... was that a mistake? I DID get a chocolate liquoer so I can probably substitute that... either way... the next few wekends are going to be fun trying out new drinks. OH!!! I DID buy some Bacardi Black Cherry Low Carb drink and I will let you know how it tastes, :drinking1 This ones for you guys! :grouphug: Karen

OK I did NOT Get that quote from Jsme to get in the little box. How do you guys do that? I printed her quote, but it looks like I wrote it. Educate this poor ignorant alcoholic please!!! :teacher:

Chocolate! :goodvibes

I lost 2.5 lbs this week, too. All I ate this week were diet shakes, salads and chicken strips, since I was over my dbf's friend's house and we were busy cleaning, moving stuff, etc. We ate at fast food places all the time- my standard was chicken strips and a side salad w/o dressing since I found the grilled chicken to be, well, I guess slimy is the best way to put it! :crazy2:

Important Question about the Rasul Bath- I checked online and it's not listed in the spa appointments that you can book- neither is the Romantic Escape at Sea!

How did you book the Rasul? Phone? I really want to reserve this as a surprise! :cloud9:

Thanks!!!

Gee, I thought I had posted. I guess my reply had problems. :rotfl:
The Rasul is called the Exotic Rasul under the spa menu. Hope this helps.

Not sure how to book the REAS on-line. Jeff had our TA book our REAS at time of cruise booking.

OK tell me if I am correct.... you cannot book the Rasul until you are totally paid up, (but that CAN be before you get on the ship) and BEFORE you are totally paid up, you need to have insurance if you are going to get it? Correct? You cannot add insurance on after you are paid in full. Am I right? Also, I need to know EXACTLY what insurance to get to be covered for last minute cancellations and medical problems while on the ship. WOW I just made this post too heavy man!!!!! Sorry!! :guilty: But I really need to know.

Lulu~ I hate to bug you but when you did the shake drink, what else did you add to that? PS Great news on losing! This must be our week!

Also anybody~ Any answers on the chocolate vodka and banana vodka?

OK Girls... how did you use those quote boxes?

Here is what I know...

You have to be paid in full to book anything on-line. Then it goes by conceirge or REAS package 105 days out, CC Members 90 days, Newbies 75 days out.

Insurance we purchased on-line about a week ago. I had already paid my cruise off at the time of purchase. What you will run into is you need to purchase insurance within 14 days of first payment in order for it to cover pre existing conditions. I used insuremycruise.com . I did not have any problems with them. I was able to pick which policy I wanted. Each policy is a little different.

I thought last time I looked there were so many policies that I got confused. I don't mind adding insurance soon, in fact I am soon going to be paying everything off... I just don't know which policy to get. I guess I will look into it more and then if I have questions I will let you know. Thanks. Karen

What I typed was exactly how the recipe called for it. I think they use Vodka because it is a Martini, but I am sure the rum would work just as well. :confused3 I am not sure where you would buy the vodka because I don't drink vodka, I am a rum girl!!!

There is a box at the bottom of the post you want to quote that says QUOTE. Click on QUOTE and it does it all for you!!!! :wizard:

Karen, I chose a basic policy. You are right there are a lot to chose from. I first looked at the higher priced ones and narrowed it down to one of those. Then I looked at the med. priced and then compared my choices the with the higher priced one. Narrowed it down again to just a few. Then I went to the cheapest ones and narrowed it down to one. I took that one and compared to the others form the med/high priced policies. I wound up buying one of the cheapier ones and I think I will be satisfied with this policy.

I have to know start finding a policy for the Freedom of the Seas cruise we will be going on in 2006. I think if I am remember correctly I can get a policy for hte 4 of us fro $100 for that cruise.

Hi Heidi! So is mom ready for the cruise? Too bad you can not stow away. I think you and I should just do this!

OK I clicked on quote and we will see. I clicked last time too but I must have done something wrong.
I am not a vodka person either... I prefer Rum too 151 to be exact and I will buy alot of that while I am down there!!! I did get banana liqueor and chocolate liquoer so I will just have to mix and match!!!

It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you! I don't know what I did wrong the first time but I will keep doing this. Thanks again! :cool1: :cool1:

Please help me!

I tried looking online under "exotic" not there! :confused3

I called to book REAS! (got it! Yes! ) and Dahlia told me that you can only book the Rasul onboard! :confused3

Please let me know which number you called, so I can try to get the Rasul before we go. :love2: (Poly's the last bus to get to the ship and I don't want to be left out!)

Thanks!!!

Jsme~ I kind of did a quick check and to me it looks like Travelex might be a good one to go with... what did you think about that plan? I SO value your opinion.
Next, the REAS does anyone have detials on this? Can you pick your breakfast in bed morning? We will have all kinds of kids and family jumping in bed with us... I am sure not romantic, but a nice memory. I need to see what that all includes and the price... it does NOT Include the Rasul treatment... correct? Hmmm I am wondering what to do. I guess I could get it for us and them make up a card for him for Valentines Day!!! I need to check into that like I said and see what is included. I knew all these things by heart 3 months ago... now I must be on burn out!!! :firefight I don't want that!!! That is the EXACT reason I started out early.. so I could totally enjoy the trip and get the most out of it money wise and time wise. Also, could we do a Palo lunch instead of dinner? I am kind of excited to do all the meals with the family. My my.... decisions! Hahaha. Life is good and I sure am thankful. :cloud9:

Oh my, a bunch of chatty cathies today. Ok, so who knows or willing to admit knows about chatty cathies?

Could any of you help me? A friend of Heidi's and mine would like to know what you would like to see changed in the Navigator and what would you like to be added? Any ideas that would help the guests that pertains to the Navigator is what he is looking for. Thanks!
