Aww, thank you. It was amazing finding it and seeing everyone get so excited. It does make things feel more real; for me it was like "wow I am really getting married, this is crazy/amazing/so cool!"

Thanks for letting me steal your ideas ;) What I have trouble with is actually sitting down to do anything. I just can't get everything together and get it done. I have yet to send "thank you's" for our engagement party. I am a bad bride. Do you have any tutorials or advice on how to create the images for invites and print them? Basically the whole process?

Very pretty dress I like the skirt bit very much.

Can't believe someone told you they loved you at your engagement party, that's one to tell the gran-kids!

Thanks hun! I really love the dress, it was everything I hoped for.

As for the confession...that I could have done without. And it was more along the lines of a really drunk person slirring and acting horrible and insulting the groom and saying that I am marrying the wrong person and bla bla bla. Don't think we will be seeing him at the wedding.

Weddings bring out the best in people don't they?

As for the invites we actually had them done by Shelley from Impressions who Disney recommends. She did our save-the-dates as well. She is amazing her work is beautiful. She can be a little pricey though. I have some pictures I have to post hopefully this week of a lot of DIY stuff such as menus, favor cards and escort cards. I did find this really cool castle off of Etsy.com. It has our names and wedding date. I'm not sure if i posted but I will have it soon. That is something that you can just resize yourself and put on anything. I have also been using this company lcipaper.com. You can get pre-made menus ect and then just print on them. You need a laser printer though because some of the paper is think. I have also used kinkos for printing my newsletters. But I would check out etsy and the paper place there are some great ideas and great pre-made invitations. I didn't find out about this stuff until after we already started our invites. Oh and once you order stuff off the paper site you can download the format for whatever you ordered. So when we ordered the menus they sent us the appropriate page setup so everything would print perfectly. It was really easy!

Let me know if there is anything specific I can send you pictures of or layouts of once I get everything posted!:)

Congrats on signing your agreement and getting your dress!! The dress looks gorgeous on you!! What length is the veil you ordered?? :) I'm still trying to decide if I want one or not!

Sounds like everything seems to be coming along, are you excited for your e-pics? We booked ours about a month or so out and they seemed so far away but it was something fun to look forward to! :goodvibes

OMG you are the best! That helps me out so much. I am going to get a start on it asap and let you know how it goes. Of course I'll post pics! Thank you!

Thanks hun! I am so worried I won't like the dress a year from now :scared1: but hopefully my taste won't change too much. It is a beautiful dress and I think it will be easier to move around in than some I looked at (once it is sized, of course).

I haven't actually picked out my veil yet, I paid for one since they were all the same price but I haven't chose one yet. I think it will be a fingertip veil but I really love the birdcage veils too...So I am not very helpful lol.

I am stoked about or e-pics! Our photographer is a doll and her pics are amazing. Her name is Callie Bealle and she did the pictures for my cousin's wedding which I fell in love with. I'll post them once we get them- the appt is Nov. 19th. :woohoo:

Ash- I just posted on your PJ telling you I don't know what Impressions is hehehe....I got all excited that you gave me the info and then realized I didn't know what Impressions was.... :lmao:

I hope I get the organized bride mentality soon....

You made my day! Thanks a million! How do you like them? How's the pricing?

They are incredible to work with! You will be really happy. They respond really quickly. They are a bit more expensive but you are getting custom work and there detail is amazing! We went back and fourth probably 5 or 6 times in order to get the price we wanted. There are number of ways to cut the cost. There are a lot of little things that will effect your budget. Switching papers, ribbons, envelopes, font type all makes a difference in price. But talk with Shelley and Amanda they will let you know an idea of cost for what you are looking for and if you can get it in your price range. :)

Good luck!

I agree with using Impressions. I will admit..they are quite expensive. BUT I completely created my own invitations from scratch and Shelley had so many ideas on how I could make it less expensive and was just so so great to work with! I LOVED my invites!

Thanks for the info! I will check out the pricing and see how we like it. I started to make my save-the-dates and it is taking forever! lol. I could not imagine making invites. Thanks again!! :cool1:

Hi everyone! First, I want to say thank you for providing me with so much information and help. The invitation suggestions are super helpful and impressions looks amazing. I started to make my own save-the-dates (I refuse to call them STDs....). It has been interesting. I have a Cricut machine that I was going to make them with and quickly found that that would not be possible. I must have cut out 10 pounds of paper on that thing. Well, I decided that I would only use a few cut-outs from the Cricut and I will print my own save-the-date design on pearlized paper. I did this and it came out rather nice. I haven't finished them completely, and it will probably take a lot longer, but thank goodness we are 11 months away. So that brings me to a question:

How early do you ladies think they should be sent out?

I was planning to at the 10 month mark or so...What about invitations? When would you send the actual invites out? Obviously I know nothing about weddings (tee hee) :confused3 Oh well. That's why I am here, to learn from the other beautiful and helpful brides and ladies and even some gentlemen (that's YOU). :thumbsup2

Well, as soon as I get the finished SaveTD (better than STDs right?), I will post a pick. I hope you will all stay around for my PJ as it begins to get slow on the updates since not much is going on as far as wedding stuff. I do have some pics to share though so come on back and check it out.

Thanks everyone! :)

I don't think there is really a right or wrong to when you send the save the dates. 10 months is a good idea though, we did ours at 9 months I believe. I think it depends too where you are traveling from. For guests who need plane tickets ect you want to make sure to give plenty of notice too. We waited until we had our room block because we sent out all of that information with the save the dates.

As for the wedding invitations, Impressions told me when to send it out. Because your final BEO is due a month before the wedding they recommend sending out your invites earlier than most people would for a wedding. We sent ours out 1st week of October with an RSVP date of October 24th. That way when we had an accurate number for our BEO pricing on November 2nd.

I'm back! I hope everyone is doing amazing and wonderful. All the PJs look great and things are moving right along.

Well let's see.... A decent amount of things have happened since being on here last. A bunch of you suggested I try out impressions for our invites. Great idea and they have the MOST amazing personalized invites. But unfortunately they are just too expensive. :sad1: I can't even see asking my dad (who is amazing, kind, and generous enough to be paying for the wedding) to spend around $700 for invitations. He probably would but I wouldn't even ask. With that said they do have some cheaper options which are somewhat customizable and that is something we are looking into. I will be honest, I may just make my own on Vistaprint and call it a day...or use lcipaper.com. There are a lot of options and we still have tons of time.

Speaking of Vistaprint, I did make our informative little brochures using vistaprint and they came out amazing...We will be sending these along with the Save-The-Dates that I am making (not as easy as some of you make it look- kudos to you guys) the finished products should arrive at our house today and I have a picture of the proof (no pics of the Save-The-Dates yet).

I am totally happy with these...they go along with the theme, and although they are not the colors we will use in the wedding they do have the fairy tale element and I added lots of pictures from Disney and of B and me so it is personalized. 100 of these cost $40, but it's about $2.00 for every picture you add, plus you have to pay shipping. Sometimes Vistaprint will offer free shipping though. Overall, we paid under $100 for 100 of these brochures. And I am OK with that since they are providing our guests with so much information.

I think I decided on our wedding colors but you know I could always change my mind. Here's what I am thinking- it's not exact but they are the general colors I would like:

Navy and/or dark blues with Burgundy and/or seep purples or wines:

This too reminds me of The Little Mermaid but I am not sure about the green seats:

What do you think?

On a more depressing note, my engagement ring has has some troubles and of everything going on this has stressed me out the most. It's just a ring but I have cried and cried about it. :sad2:

When I first received my e-ring it was very crooked-the diamond and the prongs were not centered on the ring, and it was very obvious. Also, the diamond and prongs were only held together by this tiny little line of metal, it looked very odd. This is hard to explain without being seen but trust me it was not what you want to see when your sweet future-hubby spent so much time picking out what he wanted and it comes in and looks like they just "threw something together". FYI, the ring was shown to my DF in a picture and then made and my DF picked it up so he probably didn't know it was crooked or how it would look in person. But no big deal, it could be fixed. Side note- I know to some I sound like an evil bridezilla who is ungrateful and I reeeeally don't want to sound that way. I love my fiance` and I love that he went to find the ring on his own, and the he even proposed, but the jeweler did not do a good job and he honestly made something that should be gorgeous look cheap and messy... or at least whoever did the workmanship did.

Anyway....So the DF and I went to the jeweler he bought the ring from and explained that it was crooked and we'd prefer to have the diamond raised up a little since that weird piece of metal kind of made things look strange. Plus it needed to be sized. When we got the ring back it was still odd looking, most of it very beautiful but still a bit "unfinished" and...well... "cheap" looking...The jeweler even agreed that the ring looked unfinished and that it needed something else. There was a big piece of metal in the middle now instead of a tiny little "bridge" of metal. And on top of that you could see gold-ish solder (sounds like sauder) marks on the sides of the metal from where the work had been done- they discolored the ring-it looked burned. I had a hard time even saying anything to my fiance b/c I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I knew he spent a lot of time and money and this jeweler was not taking his time to make the design right. I debated on keeping my mouth shut but I am kind of outspoken and a pain in the butt so I couldn't and I took it back to the jeweler. I left the ring again to have the solder marks covered, to be sized more b/c it was still too big and, and to have some tiny little diamonds put on the outsides (as the jeweler suggested) kind of like the Verragio rings you see:
Verragio-Engagement-Rings.jpg

Here was my ring when it was raised up without the diamonds-the metal in the middle is where the diamonds were going:
Myring4-1.jpg

When I got it back I was even more disappointed than before...the workmanship was garbage. It was as if they didn't even check over their work. They erased all of the engraving from the bottom of the ring when they sized it, the diamonds look like they were glued on, and one of them was crooked, and the soldering marks were still visible. I wanted to cry. I couldn't believe they even gave it back like that. The jeweler suggested that I pick out another ring, free of charge (that's pretty nice) but I am torn b/c I love my DF and I am attached to this ring- but it is kind of a mess. I should have just left it alone in the first place and now I feel like an evil monster fiance. :sad1::mad::headache: Anyone have any suggestions? I just don't know what to do. There are other rings and my fiance is OK with me getting a new one but I feel so bad and I love my ring b/c of the fact that my honey picked it out...but it just looks so silly now :rotfl2: Uhhh....I am annoyed with myself and this situation. I don't want to hurt anyone and I don't know what to do. HELP!!!

To not end on a sad note here is a pic of the dress I have purchased for the rehearsal dinner:

 Love it! Can't wait to wear it.

Thanks for reading my exceptionally long post. I hope you all have a great and wonderful day! :)

First of all, I totally understand where you are coming from with your ring. I had a similar situation. The center diamond was not set properly on the prongs and was off center as well. They had made a mess when the changed the prongs from 6 to 4 to accomodate the princess cut diamond. They fixed it for Df before giving it to me but he still wasn't really happy with. So after proposing we went back to the jeweler and they ended up ordering a new band for us. It finally looked just as it should. It was perfect. But its a lot of money and something you will have forever, so make sure you get it perfect now :)

I love the brochure you made. It is awesome :yay: Those table cloths are great but I would have to agree with you on the green cushions, not so sure about that! The flowers are perfect too. I think they would look great on those table cloths:)
