First of all, I totally understand where you are coming from with your ring. I had a similar situation. The center diamond was not set properly on the prongs and was off center as well. They had made a mess when the changed the prongs from 6 to 4 to accomodate the princess cut diamond. They fixed it for Df before giving it to me but he still wasn't really happy with. So after proposing we went back to the jeweler and they ended up ordering a new band for us. It finally looked just as it should. It was perfect. But its a lot of money and something you will have forever, so make sure you get it perfect now

I love the brochure you made. It is awesome Those table cloths are great but I would have to agree with you on the green cushions, not so sure about that! The flowers are perfect too. I think they would look great on those table cloths

Aww thanks Ashley! That makes me feel better. I am sorry you had to deal with a similar situation but so glad it worked out. You're right, it is expensive and it will be mine forever so I will make it right asap.

You are absolutely right...he did not design it he picked it out b ased on the jewelers suggestions. There are others that I like better. I just feel bad but I will make it right!

You've got to wear it forever and if you feel bad when you look at it that's not good. Rings are tricky aren't they. As my DH and I had been together forever and planned to get married I pointed out to him which ring I wanted, it wasn't my ultimate ring but I didn't want to be too greedy on price (I do wish i'd gone for the more expensive one now though). When he proposed it was not the ring I picked, it was very similar but just not quite, I asked him about it and he said if i'd seen the other one up close I wouldn't have liked it. I've never told him the ring he got me isn't as nice as the one I wanted. I like it more now I have my wedding ring as well but its still not the one I wanted and i'll be wearing it everyday of my life.

How right you are. It's a touchy subject and just like you mentioned, you didn't want to hurt your DHs feelings or come across greedy. I wish I could be more like you and keep my mouth shut but I just couldn't. I too picked out a different ring that I was in love with and it was relatively inexpensive as far as engagment rings go...just like your DH, mine got one he thought I would like better or the same and it wasn't any cheaper than what I picked out...The bottom line was that the jeweler didn't sell (not an authorized dealer) the one I picked out so he picked one similar he thought I would like...unfortunately we have very diffrent tastes...and you know, I would have been just fine had the ring not been crooked and had they not continuously messed it up. But enough of my bla bla bla'ing... we went last Wednesday and ordered a new ring that we both love and all will be well I hope. And the great thing for you is that you can always upgrade my dear!! Or even trade in. You'de be surpirsed at just how much a good jeweler will work with you. Wait a few years and say "honey, I have outgrown this style...do you think we could trade this in for something that matches my current style?" or something like that. Thanks for your help! I hate that any bride has to even deal with this but it happens. The important thing is that we got out man!

Wanted to update ya'll on the ring situation: we got a new one; it's different but we both love it. We were able to make a trade with our jeweler with no problem! I don't have a good pic of the ring right now...the picture from the internet is pretty but when I saw it in person it was even better, I couldn't believe it! So I want to wait to post the pics when it gets in but that is six weeks from now. hahaha.

I am still working on the save-the-dates and as soon as I actually get them done I will take a picture and share.

I've already designed my eternity ring which I think will look brilliant with my engagement ring and wedding ring so just need to convince DH to get it me now!

well I just read through your entire PJ and all I can say is wow there is a lot going on here and I have been missing it. so here are the things I want to touch on.

-i know how you feel when there is not much PJ action it happens sometimes...
-your dress is gorgeous. I think you will like it a year from now. I bought mine in 2008 when I was engaged before and that fell through a few months after I bought the dress. I checked with DF if he was ok with me wearing it and he said he doesnt care I put it back on for the first time a week ago and I still love it so perhaps you will love yours too.
-your ring situation is a nightmare! wow i feel bad for you that you even had to go through that. I am glad that it all got worked out and I can't wait to see the new one. I still don't have mine yet because it is being custom designed and wont be done until the end of january or something
- I like your colors and l love the picture of the flowers that you put up.

OH BTW... The save the date - naming? Sending out... I had the same issue! Because we are from the UK we scrapped the STD idea... and went straight in with the invites... we sent them out in end of June this year... and our wedding is may next year. My theory was if guests have to book a flight and accommodation they won't forget the wedding... the reason they are flying in the first place!? lol Everything else we have done by emails - and our wedding website! Have a look at the lady that did my invites... she was amazing! any idea or vision you have she can create! She was so helpful and understanding of my muddled ideas! i LOVE OUR INVITES! LOL they were apron 500 dollars - But so worth it! dogwoodblossomstationary her name is denise.

I would have stuck with only email but not everyone we know has internet; most of my DFs family is very "old school, country style" they don't have internet and they don't even know what facebook is so I had to send some kind of printed literature or they wouldn't be able to follow along

I cannot say enough great thigns about our photographer, Callie Beale. We were fortunate enough to find Callie through my cousin, as she did the e-pics and wedding photos for her. I fell in love with my cuz's e-pics and new I would love for Callie to take our pics too. We met in downtown Atlanta, GA at Piedmont park and a little garden that my DF found (he works nearby and scouted a place). These are our first set and we will be having another e-pic session in January.

We are getting two e-pic sessions, coverage for the rehearsal dinner, coverage for the entire day and evening part of the wedding, a custom website, access to this new feature called the PASS Gallery, and a leather wedding photobook with photo printed pages for $2,850. This includes travel expenses and hotel. I think it's a great deal. We have yet to get a videographer; I don't know if we wil or not. I hate to think we won't have our day on video but I just refuse to pay $6,000 for pictures and video. Anyone know of a good but reasonably priced videographer?

We partly went for our photographer because one of them was english! and we fell in love with them when we met!

2 photographers, (6.5) hours of coverage, online viewing and ordering for 90 days after the wedding, all printed, 4x6 proofs presented
in a memory box, high resolution DVD of Images, 30 page, 11x14 flush mount album with your choice of cover, (2) duplicate parent books (magazine style,
8x10). Client to receive prints and high resolution DVD prior to going back to England on June 16 ' •

They are cutting the printing time for us in half so we can take them back to the UK with us! Thats all for $5639.17 (LOL i think the .17 is funny) I think they will be worth the money! But in pounds... thats... about... 3500 something?! And were not having a videographer our friend is doing one for us! hehe lol

BTW... How did you get on with denise!? LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!!!
