Our Senior Class trip to WDW is next week. I'm putting together an info packet for the Big Brother and Big Sister who have been working with my Freshman homeroom all year.

Can you give me your recommendations for Counter Service meals in each park, with a few words explaining why you would suggest each place?

Thanks so much!!

Curious how many will be in your group...........

Regardless, here are some thoughts for eating in some of the parks:

EP: Electric Umbrella- lots of seating and a central location.

MK: Pecos Bill's--lots of seating and yummy food

DHS: ABC Cafe-- lots of seating and central location

Eat Lunch Early---11 or 11:15am--you will beat the crowds and get good seats. If you try to eat to noon or 12:30, or 1pm---you will be sorry during peak travel season

I'm not going, so I'm not really sure.

But we have a large Senior class-- 400 or so kids.

(OK, I heard you just gasp. For what it's worth, our kids complained last year after Grad night. It seems that a lot of kids there were cutting lines-- at DISNEY!-- and our kids were shocked and disappointed when it happened to them. The chaperones will be in the same parks as the kids and our school tolerates no nonsense. Any kid who got in trouble at Disney would risk losing public graduation, and their parents would absolutely kill them!!

So, honestly, don't look for them to cause problems.)

Thanks for the info!

MK - Pecos Bill's has good burgers with a fixin's bar that can really dress them up. I often also get the pulled pork sandwich there.

Cosmic Ray's has the widest variety of food at the MK. The group may have to split between three different ordering areas to get all of the choices. CR also have a fixin's bar that can help pep up a sandwich or a wrap.

Columbia Harbor House - two reasons mainly 1) you can get a couple of items that aren't found elsewhere, the tuna sandwich and the hummuss sandwich, and 2) There is a quiet area to eat in the upstairs. That can be nice during busy days.

Epcot has a wide variety of good CS locaions.

Sunshine Seasons -is a multi station restaurant with different types of foods at each station. The food is prepared fresher than in most of the other CS locations. It's also in Future World. Most of the other CS locations I like in Epcot are in the World Showcase.

Summerfest - I'm a big fan of bratwurst.

Yorkshire County Fish & Chips - makes a decent fish and chips which is something my kids will eat.

Tangierine Cafe
- provides some variety but not really exotic

Cantina de San Angel - the food is pretty good and the view is nice

Animal Kingdom

Flame Tree Barbecue is my favorite

Pizzafari has pretty decent pizza

Hollywood Studios

Studio Catering - has a couple of different items. The menu is somewhat limited and doesn't appeal to everyone.

Backlot Express - a fall back CS location. Pretty straight forward menu that can please a larger group.

AK- Flame Tree Bbq is delicious, and there are lots of places to sit.

EP- We really like Cantina de San Angel. It's a beautiful place to sit and eat.

MK- Columbia Harbor House is very good, as well as cool and quiet. Pecos Bill's is good too, but can get crazy at lunchtime.

DHS- We always eat at Pizza Planet, not so much for the food, we just love Toy Story.
There is seating upstairs, but it's nice to eat outside and people watch.:)

AK- Flame Tree BBQ, good food and large portions.

EP- Sunshine Seasons, great selections, AC

MK- Cosmic Rays, great selection, large portions, AC

DHS, Backlot Express, self serve drink station with refills, decent burger, some indoor seating with AC

OK............several people have already added some good places to eat.

I was not sure if the group was small/large enough to eat all together.

Clearly 400 can't eat at once, you will will need to split up.

So take all of our input and make up a cheat sheet for the group. These suggestions are a little spread out in each park, and that is good!

Enjoy your trip..............and make everyone has a few bucks handy to get a Mickey Bar.........yum!

That is the other thing to be aware of, CS is not cheap. We were on the DDP so it was not a worry, but if I was paying OOP I would have had a heart attach. Lunches for the 4 of us were always $50-$60

MK:
Cosmic Ray's...great variety of food and TONS of places to sit.
Pinnochio's...great food!

AK:
Pizzafari...good pizza and TONS of places to sit.

Epcot:
Sunshine Seasons...great variety of food..it's always fresh and good!

DHS:
Backlot Express...it's the only place we've liked for CS there!

AT MK we love Cosmic Rays great selections of foods and great fixins bar,At AK Flame Tree BBQ,good BBQ not great but good as excelllent quiet dining spots. At Epcot love the CS at Mexico god food and nice location to plan the rest of your day at Epcot. At DHS we like Pizza Planet.:goodvibes:goodvibesDanny

I have two favorite CS locations:
Electric Umbrella at EPCOT and Rosie's All American at DHS. They are both burger places. I love a good burger and find both of the places very good. Have a great trip!

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.
Different food options and a great atmosphere.

Epcot: Electric Umbrella.
One of the few locations where you can get free refills, since you get the drinks yourself.

Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary.
A nice great atmosphere and nice place to relax from the heat.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue & Pizzafari.
Both locations have very good items on their menus.

For Selection:

MK - Cosmic Rays
EPcot - Sunshine Seasons - in The Land
HS - Sunset Market (near Tot & RnR)
AK - Flame Tree

Again - this is for selection....for a large # of people
