This is just my interpretation of the posts, but it sounds more like OP is saying she didn't get a GAC to prove a point, not to use line waiting as a therapy tool. I get what you're saying, I'm familiar with the concept, but it doesn't *read* like that was OP's intention in abstaining from the GAC. I think that's what is grating on some nerves... it implies that their pride in not asking for help trumps the comfort of their child.
IMO.
if we're gonna go there...
twinplets said:We are far from entitled. One of my oldest sons has Aspergers, but we didn't get an GAC even though he was counting people in line and we constantly had to pull him back to an acceptable distance from the people in front of us. We made this a learning experience, even though there were so many times I was worn down by his obsession with being first in line. We don't ask for help. That seems to be our family motto.
I'm not saying don't ask for help when you need it, and I don't agree with the way the OP pulled this fact out here to make it seem like they want more sympathy because they're getting flamed a little. I totally think OP has no room to gripe when they were the ones who didn't take a camera. It was clearly stated that they expected photopass to meet their photography needs. But this issue... well, there may be more to not getting a GAC than simply not wanting help. More that the OP isn't saying about that particular issue.

I can't imagine the devistation.
I've taken pix of others than couldn't themselves and e-mailed them on. I'd wager most at WDW would be willing to do so if they have the ability.
