I had not read this on the Dis so if it has already been mentioned, my apologies. I ordered my case of bottled water from Costco on Friday and yesterday I had an e-mail stating that they had canceled my order. I called to ask what the problem was and they told me that they no longer deliver to hotels!!!! :confused3

I checked Staples, Amazon, etc and the best I could find was 24 bottles for $20. Any other brilliant suggestions? We arrive on Saturday.

Garden Grocer would be $20 too. 7.99 plus $12 delivery...
It is still cheaper than the $2.50 a bottle at the parks.:)

We had five cases of water delivered in June from Staples. The total was about $27. We didn't have to pay delivery because DH did it thru work. I think delivery is free if your order is over $50. DH did tell me that different water is available in different parts of the states. We only had one option listed that could be delivered to WDW. It might be worth a phonecall to Staples!

I think we got "Nestle® Pure Life™ Bottled Purified Water, 24pk" but I am not certain.

Will you be renting a car? There are places near by (closest is the hess gas station near downtown disney) that you can pick up water.

I plan on getting mine at the Hess gas station as I do not need a lot of food items on the DDP.

So when did Costco stop delivering water to the hotels? I just ordered yesterday and keep checking the status. So far, it hasn't been cancelled, I'm sure it's just a matter of time. :confused3

I don't know when this started, I have been reading posts from people who traveled in early September who ordered and received their water. I'm not sure why or how I am the "lucky" one who they won't send it to. I hope you get yours to go through! :confused3

I am thinking about reordering and seeing what happens.:rolleyes1

Well.........no email, but I checked my order status and it has also been Cancelled! Uggghh..

We've pretty much stopped lugging drinks about in the parks. You can get cups of ice water for free at CS places. It tastes better than the rest of FL water, I think they filter it. Add a drink packet if you want.

Take Brita water bottles! Water tastes great and no plastic waste.

I called and complained VERY LOUDLY about this policy and they said it was to keep fraud from happening. I am sure there are hundreds of people using stolen credit cards to order bottled water for their Disney vacation. :sad2:

So, I made a second attempt and I will let you know if it works. I addressed as Pop Century (not Pop Century Resort) and I am hoping the order checker won't be as thorough as the last one (or maybe resort omitted won't throw up a red flag). If this doesn't work, DH says we will bring a couple of empties and order bottled water at CS as needed. I'm not going to stress anymore, I'm going to Disney in a few days with or without Costco's bottled water. :dance3::cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2:

It isn't to stop people who are having water delivered to Disney. Its to stop people who are ordering big screen TVs. Its a blanket policy designed to stop a very common scam - steal a credit card, and you can't have the stuff shipped to your house, so you rent a hotel room - with a stolen id. Now you can take receipt of your stolen goods and disappear without a trace.

It shocks me that Costco was permitting this before. A lot of internet retailers stopped shipping to anything that isn't a permanent home a long time ago.

They might be able in the future to dial the fraud screen to let more things through - water to Disney is a low risk thing....but it also possible that they had it set looser (its often a dollar amount on the transaction that kicks it to fraud) and were out so much merchandise that they felt they couldn't take the risk any longer.

captainj - will you let us know if it works? I was planning on doing this for my wedding in December since we are going to be there for 2 weeks so it stinks to learn that they stopped doing this. Now I need a back up plan. :headache:

I always bring an extra suitcase with water and snacks. We fly southwest so there is never an extra bag charge between the three of us. Something to consider.

We don't drink soda and found the free ice water at CS to be fine. I think it is filtered and comes out of the soda machine. We didn't even add any flavorings.
FREE and Nothing to carry!!

I just bought everyone in the family new stainless steel water bottles for our trip.
