Costco Travel - Cannot get through

WOW!!! Costco just called me. Very unexpected. I emailed their customer service this a.m. and created a Twitter account this a.m. to post my issue on their Twitter account so not sure which one of those did the trick but 12 hours later they called me and are taking care of rescheduling my sailing. Hopefully this helps anyone else dealing with a similar issue reaching Costco Travel.
 
I think it will also help if those who aren't sailing right away don't call right away. I am not sailing until next month. I don't plan on calling until next month, unless I get word that suddenly the calls are going through quicker. Even when there isn't a virus quarantining people on a ship, I hate calling these places. Seems like it always take longer than it should.

I sincerely hope that only people with March or early April cruises are the ones that are calling
 
I don't know what to do. My pay in full date is tomorrow. We are cancelling the cruise. I have paid over $4300 already with a balance left. I can't get anyone to answer the phone and when you fill out the cruise cancellation form it says they can cancel and you will be issued a credit. I do not want a credit. I want the $4300 I paid to be returned to my credit card. Any idea on what to do?

As I understand it, after PIF a "refund" is not an option at this time....only a future cruise credit. So, you'll need to figure out a way to make contact today. (BTW...a credit usually means returned to your credit card, unless they say ...credit toward a future cruise)
 
This says you can cancel with a "cruise cancellation form" (even for Disney)....

I can fill out that form but since I have not yet made final payment I can have the paid balance put back on my card. I do not want the $4300 to go towards a future cruise or voucher. I need it back on my card. I talked to costco card services but they could not do anything for me and there is no way to get through.
 
We have a final payment due today for August 2020 cruise and are booked through Costco Travel. We are going to reschedule the cruise for a later date. I have called Costco Travel 10 times this a.m. and their message says "they have unprecedented call volume and to call back later".

So unable to make any changes to sailing date with final payment due today; not sure how to deal with this one. Anyone else running into this?
Did you have any success? I am in the same situation. I have paid $4800 and have a small balance with payment due tomorrow. Will it go back to our credit cards? I do not want a cruise voucher.
 
Has anyone gotten through? I called when they opened right at 6 MST and still on hold almost 3 hours later.

I just keep getting cut off. I can't even have the option of being on hold. If you for some reason speak to human could you ask them what happens if you don't make final payment and it is due tomorrow? haha
 
Does Costco have different cancellation rules? I am in the window to cancel and only lose the deposit but the cancellation form only says future cruise credit. How do I reach them to just do a cancel and get everything except the deposit?

This is what I am dealing with. I can't get through or even in the hold line. I don't want a future cruise credit either.
 
OMG, thankyou! At this point I don't even care about my $1300 deposit, just the $4000 I have paid towards the cruise.

There is a 2 week lag between Costco pay in full and Disney Pay in Full

I know I read that someone from Costco will start calling people who have not paid. Is everything refundable? If nothing is non-refundable, then the online costco cancellation form I heard will refund your funds back to the credit card.
 
Note to self: never use Costco as a TA. What a nightmare ☹
This isn't just a Costco problem - Many TAs are having the same issue (and airlines too - Delta had 6 hour hold times most of yesterday). Costco just happens to be one of the largest TAs in the USA and doesn't normally have this level of calls. Sadly this is expected with any TA with this volume.
