Costa Rica extra post night(s)

We're doing the Costa Rica ABD in Feb 2024, and airfare will be opening up shortly. Since it ends on a Friday, we're considering spending an extra night or two post-ABD. Has anyone added time to the end of this trip? I'm curious if you just stayed at the last hotel or if you went somewhere else? If you just relaxed at the beach or did more sightseeing? Any experience or advice appreciated!

I just left the Costa Rica trip on Tuesday (it was excellent, by the way!). We did not stay any extra time, but some of our fellow guests did. They did just stay at our final hotel (El Mangroove in Guanacaste) and fly out of Liberia a day later. I know that their plans were just to relax at the hotel (and I believe one of them scheduled a spa treatment).
